2014 ddp

That's great, thank you. It still doesn't appear to be the full list though - hoping more will be added in the next few weeks!

What's missing from the list ?

The link goes to the Disney Flyer that is given out to participants

At Epcot: Tutto Italia, Via Napoli, Teppan Edo and Tokyo Dining at DTD all the non Disney restaurants; Rainforest Cafe, T Rex, Paradiso and Portabello. It also doesn't say you get a mug with the regular dining plan.
I konw in previous years they've updated nearer the time, but as I'll be making dining reservations in 2 weeks time it might be a risk! :surfweb:

??? Ummm....all of those restaurants are listed on there.

They're on there - are you looking at the Table Service section, not the Quick Service. They are all listed including the DTD i.e Trex and Rainforest

Quote from the PDF on the Regular Plan:
Number of Meals During Your Package Stay
The Disney Dining Plan includes one (1) Quick-Service Meal, one (1) Snack, and one (1) Table-Service Meal per person, per night of your package stay for everyone in the party ages 3 and over. The plan also includes one (1) Rapid Fill Resort refillable drink mug per person, that is valid for the length of your stay (eligible for refills at self-service beverage islands at Quick-Service locations at any Disney Resort Hotel).

Definitely says the mug is there... under the "Welcome" section on the pdf.

This is good to know now too! :)

Previously stated you could only use at your own hotel!

I saw this too but as a newbie I didn't want to post and ask the question as felt a bit silly if I was wrong about it .

So, do you think it means you can use your mug at any resort hotel or do you think it's just poorly worded and is as before, YOUR resort hotel?

Having said that, I haven't actually seen the mugs - would it be a bind to carry them around from one resort to another? Presuming they have a lid etc? Forgive my ignorance I haven't even seen them! ;)

The mugs aren't too bad and yes they have a lid, I suppose it depends on what you want to carry around with you. My mum used to take hers with her, as she liked to get a drink on her way out of the resort each day. We didn't, and if we were eating at another resort on the DDP then a drink was included with your meal anyway, so no need to take the mug too. I found our old 'fat' style mugs recently, they were a bit bulky to carry around (still can't throw them away though!) :goodvibes

Thanks for that :). As we'll hopefully be on the DDP too I can't see it being an issue as we'll get a drink with meal. I still think we'll end up buying drinks (probably bottled water) to add to water bottles to carry around with us - as we go in August it will be hot so we'll need to keep drinking a lot!

We usually go to Walmart on our first day and buy water ~ $4/$5 for a case of 24 bottles as opposed to approx. $2.50 for 1 bottle on site. Last time on the DDP we used our refillable mug for drinks at breakfast and kept the water or orange inc with the meal for later in the day to take to the parks.

Rather than buying bottled water you can ask for a cup of iced water at any where that sell fountain beverages and it's free :goodvibes

I hate carrying anything and also water get warm really quickly in the FL sun so I will pop and get a cup of ice water and we will share it then we can bin the cup. I don't feel like I have to carry it as we have paid for it like I do with a bottle.

This is our plan! I don't want to waste my snack credits on water or pay for ridiculously overpriced bottles of water. We're bringing those little packets of powder flavoring with us so we can use them with the free ice water.

Yeah, I had read this and it probably would work for us adults, but as I have young children, I will want them to drink a lot due to the humidity which they aren't used to at all. So one cup of water every so often probably isn't going to do it for us in August.

Is the tap water really that bad? If we could fill up at villa am and use this to sip on during the day if necessary, it would be good.

I have been looking at those neoprene covered bottles which are insulated so keep drinks cool for a long period (even in sunshine) and can hang via a clip onto bags etc. (My Mum is a very infrequent rider at parks so is always happy to be bag monitor - so no issues carrying and leaving at ride side).

We won't have a car for at least the first week of the holiday (and perhaps not at all while onsite, depends how we split accom), so no option to go offsite and buy water. It will be an onsite purchase. I wonder where the cheapest place will be? Is the store at OKW really ott on prices?

If you're staying at OKW and you're not going to have a car you could always order bottles of water online and any other groceries that you'll need and have them delivered to the resort! :goodvibes

Not sure on the age of your kids but its not as bad as you are thinking - yes it is hot and humid (and I don't like humid!) but honestly having done 2 summers in a row with DD at age 4 and 5 we have only bought the odd bottle of water. The rest has been drinks with meals or cups of free water :goodvibes

In the parks you are not out in it a lot - you are on and off rides which means you are sheltered in lines then in air conditioned buildings. :goodvibes

If you want to be really cute with water etc, If you're having a QS breakfast at your hotel, pick up a bottle of water as your drink, don't drink it, instead use your refillable mug and then take the bottle of water to the parks, then refill from the various fountains. No need to buy anything !
