2014 candlelight processional

Almost missed this as I was heading out the door to work but thanks to a last minute check here, I have my last ( who am I kidding?) ADR booked for my Christmas week trip.

Booked Marrakesh CP 120 pm before the 150 music and dance show. Two shows for the price of one. :goodvibes.

So excited! Booked CP package for our last day (the very first day for CP). We've always missed it as we tend to leave the day after Thanksgiving, but this year, I extended an extra day just so we can be there to see the Candlelight Processional. (I told hubby to consider it my 40th birthday gift- my birthday is the Sunday after Thanksgiving).
I chose Teppan Edo for dinner at 5:30. I also considered San Angel Inn. :)

Do you get reserved viewing for Illuminations with this package? A friend said that it used to
Be included

Preferred viewing area is a joke. You're not missing anything. Plenty of spots around the lagoon that are way better.

Out of curiosity, why is the preferred viewing "a joke"?

Never used the CP Dinner Package before...:confused3

Point is...Classic Disney...Raise the prices and "cut back something"! What else is new?

Except that the CP dinner package hasn't always included the preferred viewing area for IllumiNations - I think it's only been for the last few years.

I remember when the CP package included a lanyard, a pin and a 15% shopping discount for the day of your program !

I would also like to know why it "is a joke". We've never been to Disney for the holidays, but will be this year (yay!), so I'd love to know all the ins and outs. If it's not worth even going for (if it ends up being included this year), I'd like to know why so we can scout out a better spot.

Thanks!

Read good things about Teppan Edo too! ENJOY!!!!:thumbsup2:cool1:

We booked Teppan Edo on 12/2 for our Candlelight Processional Dining Package. My family ate there on our last trip. We all loved it!! The food was great and our Chef was funny and entertaining. It is one of the meals I am really looking forward to on my girls only trip with my friend in December.

We were at Epcot last Christmas and attended the CP and then had entry to the special viewing for illuminations. They roped off an area near the Port of Entry and we didn't feel crammed in and if we wanted, we could even sit on the pavement. If it's possible, I would suggest taking a small blanket, but I was happy to have a location to view the show and know that I didn't have to rush and stand somewhere too early.

Illuminations viewing is not included with the CP this year.

Prices INCREASED and eliminated a nice little PERK!:(

Asked a CastMember the "rationale" and she said that now that guests can book a Fastpass for Illuminations, they felt it was not necessary!:furious:

Not every one wants to use a Fastpass on Illuminations! The other "side of the coin" is that during the Christmas Season and during Candlelight Processional, Epcot will presumably be more crowded and it would have been NICE to have some room in a special viewing area!!!!!

I don't know when you're visiting Disney World during the holiday season but if you go during the first 3 weeks of December, they are the #1-3 weeks most recommended to visit for low crowds for the entire year. And using the calendars on either easywdw or undercovertourist for the days when Epcot is in the green to visit can help make your visit as comfortable as possible. That's what I do now.

Sorry, I just saw these questions.

Here's my opinion on why it's "a joke". First off, the area is too tiny for all the people they try to pack in there, that unless you are right up by the fencing you completely miss the water show on the lagoon and the shots on the floating ball (for lack of a better term).

Second, there are tons of way better spots to watch from all around the lagoon that are way less crowded.

Third, if the wind is blowing towards that area, you get all the smoke from the fireworks in your face. You may think, "Meh, what's a little smoke?". However, when I've ever been in the smoke direction, it's awful. I specifically find out which way the wind is blowing towards, and I go on the opposite side. LOL

Again, this is just my opinion, but watching from that area isn't the best thing since sliced bread. ;)

Yes!!! Talk about taking a perk away. I used to do all my shopping on that day cause of the 15%. :/ Nice lanyard with your ticket (an actual ticket) not that flimsy sticker you get now. LOL

Cutbacks all over the place is the name of the game. They're a business, I get it, but you'd think when they keep raising prices, they'd give you more, not take it away. I agree Jerseygal!

And to whomever said Teppan Edo was their second choice... You're gonna love it. That's usually our first choice. But we always go there so we're changing it up this year.
