wonderful to hear and I can't wait to hear all about it!! Welcome home! I'm getting my pedicure and we leave for the airport in 16 hours!!!

Pas, save travels and enjoy your vacation. However, beware of Mexico, we left it in quite a shambles!!!!

Our favorites were the Shoffenhoffer Grapefruit beer in Germany, the beef bourguignon in France, tenderloin with wild mushroom and truffle butter in Canada and the Pork Sliders in Hawaii -- oh, the Mac and Cheese.....oh my!!!

Yum yum yum and did you start or end in Mexico:D I can see you and your hunny stumbling back to the Friendship boat. So glad you had a great trip

Hi all! I'm so thankful for the DIS & threads like this! We are planning on renting DVC points to stay at the GF for our 3rd trip next November. Threads like this are a lifesaver! I've always wanted to stay at the GF ever since I was a little girl & we went and visited my Aunt & Uncle who were staying there while we stayed at the Holiday Inn, LOL!!!

Hello friends, we are back (late last night) from a quick 5 day trip for F&W - we stayed in Epcot at the Dolphin. The vacation started like this at checkin -- good evening, we have upgraded you to the 11th floor, lake view. It only got better from there!!! We need a vacation to recover.....more to come.

Tom
Now, that's what we like to hear, Tom! Welcome home!

We are staying at a Garden view outer building in Decembe for the first time. What building should we request?

I'm staying for the first time in less than 3 weeks and had the same question. From the responses I received, one building isn't significantly better or farther away than another -- just preference. It's a matter of wanting to be closer to the boat dock, the main building, or the pool. While being near the pool would be important to me during a warmer month, it's not this time. I would probably like to stay in Big Pine Key, but I'm so fearful of getting that dreaded behind the pool house view, that I'm not willing to risk it. Boca Chica has less of a chance of that view, but there are still a few rooms that could stick you with that. Conch Key would be nice, but I think I want to be a little closer to Gasparilla's, so we've settled on Sago Cay (granted, depending upon what part of the building we wind up in, we may not be much closer). Sugar Loaf would be ideal, but alas, we're not staying concierge level. ;) Everything I've read is that you really can't go wrong.

Hello! You'll get lots of different answers since this is so subjective. Our favorite building is Conch Key - with a garden view, you'll either be looking at the main pool or the marina...a win-win! It's also close to the dock, for a nice short walk at night when you're exhausted from a great MK day.

Just back from a nine night stay at the GF. What a magical trip! Just a few observations... This trip we stayed in Conch Key. I think I like the location of Sago better. Just a tad closer to almost everything. I'm seven months pregnant, and CK seemed like a hike from everywhere but the boats! I think if I'd been in my regular shape it wouldn't have seemed so far! Our 4 year old had a fabulous time at the Beach Pool Friday. She loved the slide and the activities for kids by the pool. We had a so much fun Halloween night... They had lots of kid friendly activities by Summerhouse and great candy, plus Mickey and Minnie were there for meet and greets! Minnie was in her witch costume and Mickey was dressed as a scarecrow. My only minor negatives were less than stellar housekeeping upon arrival and the slimmed down menu at Gasparilla Grill.

We stayed a night at AoA the night we flew in. I asked my daughter which resort she preferred, and she immediately answered "Grand Floridian, it's so fancy and I love it!" Glad to know she has great taste!!!

I'm sad because we didn't book the bounce back offer for the first time in 3 trips. We're having a baby next year, and we've done 4 trips in 3 years with DD. I think we may take a break until new baby is 2.5. But we'll see if we can stay away that long........

Staying at GFV for the first time May 2015 and looking at an ADR at GF Cafe but when I check days prior to my arrival I can't find anything for 7+ guests. Has anyone had any luck booking there with that many people or should I just try to make 2 smaller ADRs around the same time?

And yes I've been practicing my ADRs to see which one's i should try for first.

Thanks to everyone on this board for getting me and my family exciting for our first GF stay. The pics and stories are great.

Have not posted in awhile. We will be back 12/27-1/3 for our semi-annual NYE trip. I will post more lounge and food photos like I did for our last trip. I will also be posting a trip report on our Tokyo Disney experience over on the international parks board. We stayed CL in a Minnie Mouse themed room at the Ambassador and had a wonderful time.

We just renewed our AP's and this will most likely be our last year for that. Both of my children are too busy to travel that often now, even when they have some sort of break they already have A practice or game/comp or something else scheduled. I don't remember being this busy as a teenager. Even summers are already filled with things.

So, we are going to blow this year out and go back during our Feb. break. We booked GF the first week in Feb. along with the new Club Villian dinner. Was able to get an AP discount on the main standard room, queen deluxe was not available with the discount.

Hope everyone with fall trips booked enjoys the weather and the GF. Let me know if anyone has any photo requests and I will try to take and post.
