I've been lurking for a couple weeks now, but I guess you can add me to the Be Our Guest page. My family of four (son is 9, daughter is 4) will be at the Beach Club in a standard room from Dec 18th to the 23rd.

We had a time share in my family for a long time that we finally got rid of last year. This allowed us to stay on site this past New Years for the first time. We ended up staying at POR for three days and then did a Disney Cruise. We had high hopes for the cruise and it met our expectations, but we couldn't believe how much fun and how easy it was staying on site - even with the busy New Years crowds. We were expecting to book another cruise, but decided to hold off until 2017. When we got back home, we went ahead and booked a room at the Swan with my teacher discount for December, but I started reading these boards and learned about the bounceback offers. I was disappointed that we didn't get a bounceback offer when we were there, but I called to see if there was anything Disney could do and the CM was able to still offer me the bounceback! We grabbed a standard room at the BC and cancelled the Swan. The difference was $150 which to me is a no-brainer. I think we might be hooked!

I saw on a different thread that someone posted that All Pools are closed at 8pm for the next couple of winter weeks. Does anyone know if this applies to the Beach/Yacht quiet pools?

The poster did not specify which resort they stayed at so I'm wondering if this is just at the Value resorts since all of their pools have life guards.

I'm so excited!

I just booked a Deluxe room CL at the BC for 2 nights using the Spring Room only offer. We'll be there April 28-30.

My DH and I are arriving 2 days before the rest of our family and we will be moving over to Old Key West to a 2 BR villa.

I see that the CL lounge was recently redone, and I'm looking forward to checking it out! We've stayed at BC many times but never CL there. We have
stayed GF RPC and Poly CL in our many trips.

Anyway, it will be such a nice start to our vacation!

I saw this too and inquiring minds do want to know!

So... for the sake of "research", once i check in and get settled over at CSR next week, I WILL make my way over to the BC in the evening to see things for myself and will report back. And even tough I'm not officially a guest at the BC, I know my way around pretty well and think I can get close enough to SAB without being detected

What is the run down on the toiletries? I'd like to pack less, if possible (even though we check bags on our flights, it's still just nice to have to bring less)!

The picture natebenma posted is what we received in our room, FYI, so you should be all set!

Thank you! We ended up loving the YC and would definitely consider staying there again over the BC. We loved the peaceful atmosphere and the quick access to the bus stop, plus being the first that the buses picked up and dropped off. We also tried Captain's Grille for the first time for breakfast and loved it! The weather never got quite hot enough for us to feel compelled to swim, but we did lounge at the pool yesterday (fully clothed) for a while before boarding Magical Express back to the airport. We would love to visit again at a warmer time when we can take more advantage of the amazing SAB area!

I was at the pool yesterday afternoon and can confirm that the posted pool hours sign outside of the SAB entrance listed the closing time as 8pm. Sorry to share the bad news!

As promised, here is the view from the WV room that we were upgraded to at the YC this weekend! It was room 1161 and we loved it. No external or internal noise, a great view of all the action, and still plenty private even being on the ground floor because of the shrubbery and walkway being pretty far in the distance. Plus, it was literally as close to the lobby as we could have been! Just around the corner from the elevators and restroom. We were so lucky to be placed here and it was so convenient!

Lily rode Mine Train last night and loved it! And dinner at BOG. Perfect last day at WDW!!! They fly home tomorrow morning.

I know it's been a Magical trip for your whole family. Little ones will grow up fast so enjoy before its Rock N Roller Coaster time!

Not only did you have a great view but the location was great. We were just down the hall in room 1148. We didn't have the great view but we loved being so close to the lobby.

I just amended my previous post to add the point about the convenience of the lobby proximity. That was a HUGE plus for us!

We literally could not have selected a better room if we tried, so we were definitely grateful for the pixie dust!

SAB was indeed closed at 8pm but I did see some folks over in the Villas quiet pool after this time period (I believe it was close to 10pm) so you might be able to sneak into a quiet pool all quiet like.

I've had an email from Disney yesterday regarding our late March trip. They are saying that the waterside is going to be down for refurbishment during our stay but according to the online information i've seen the refurbishment should be taking place soon and finished by earlier March, with the waterside back open in Feb.

I did ring them to check and they said they were sending it out in case they overrun but now i'm having a little doubt. Has anyone else heard anything?

Construction can be a little unnerving when you are working outside as you do not control the weather. Keep tabs on what Dee has been posting on page one of this thread as she constantly updates the information as new data is received. You know that management is going to do everything they can to have the SAB area back up in full force by the time the weather warms and crowds increase.

Normal winter maintenance is happening at SAB right now. The work is being done in parts so that 1/3 of the pool will be closed while the remainder remains open. I have not heard anything about SAB being refurbished in May- it would be very unusual for the resort to schedule anything other than emergency repair work of the signature pool/slide in the warm, prime swimming months.

A couple of people have mentioned getting a message about SAB being under refurbishment when they are booking. I went to the WDW booking site to see what is there. I priced out rooms, but I didn't actually go to checkout because I didn't want to actually book one. Well, yes I do, but I didn't...so I don't know what message comes up if you actual click checkout.

When I go to see the description of the Beach Club Resort, there is this message

When I click on more I get this:

Thanks for letting us know about the information you received.

I have not heard anything about a change in the end date for the slide repair. If I do, I will definitely post it here.

Where on the Disney website can you find a refurbishment listing for resorts and for attractions at the theme parks?

I always have a lot of trouble navigating the WDW website to find the info I want!!!
