Does anyone have advice on "kids night out" or the sandcastle club? I want to try to fit in an Epcot adults night during our trip. I'm thinking Kids Night Out would be cheaper for 2 kids and also the sitter could take the kids to the campfire, movie, sand, etc.

My kids have been to several of the clubs and enjoyed them all. The GF club is no longer open, which is a shame. They took the kids out to watch the fireworks and they loved that. We used the sandcastle club last August. They had fun. My preference is to go with Disney, but part of that is due to my son having a peanut allergy and I know they take that sort of thing seriously. I completely understand wanting the kids to get an early bedtime in.

We walked over to the BCVs this morning and there was a pool table and a checkerboard table in the drawing room. That room is gorgeous. If you ever need a quiet hide away, this is the place to go. Even though we have stayed in the villas three times I've never looked in this room before.

If I stay in a forest view room ( which I understand are nearest to Epcot), is my best way to get to the busses, just walking to Epcot? Or is the bus stop still the closest option?

To get to one of the other parks (MK or AK) it will be much quicker to get the bus from outside the BC lobby. To get to the buses at the front of EP, you need to go through bag check, entry and then walk to the front of the park, that will all take 25-30 minutes. 5-7 minute walk to the BC buses, at most.

:goodvibes:

ETA: I thought I had you on the Be Our Guest list, but I couldn't find you. So :welcome:

When is your trip?

So glad to hear that you are getting a positive response from the YC CL CMs. Must really help to ease your mind, and your parents about the upcoming stay.

:thumbsup2

Yes! I was getting a little worried that there might be some communication problems when my parents check-in and that they wouldn't understand the purpose of the lounge. So I'm glad that they've been so accommodating for us.

Thanks!! I am selfish a little in favoring the babysitter I'll admit because I want the kids to have an early bedtime and rest before the next park day. I remember going to camp dolphin as a kid (it was free/included then) and just loved it.

Do I recognize you from the BC Disney YouTube video?
Yep, that's me. I hope you'll stop by and say hi if I'm there during your trip.

I don't have any advice/knowledge of Kids Night Out but my DD4 did go to the Sandcastle club in Nov. and LOVED it! She played dress-up, did crafts, had dinner and had so much fun that when we got back she was sad that she only went there one night! The staff were wonderful there (and it was a crowded Sat. night during F&W) - they were very attentive and approachable. We are planning another date night this summer and will definitely use the Sandcastle Club again! (Plus as an AP holder, we had a discount!)

Thanks for the info. I completely forgot that the entry I'd be going to isn't the main entry. We are going sept 16-26 for my 40th birthday celebration. I haven't booked my resort yet as I'm hoping for free dining to be released but I desperately want to stay at BC.

44 days out now (47 til BC check in!) Had to tell our oldest about trip yesterday-it is just too hard to plan when your teen has plans for the summer, and band camp to fit in; she will miss the first few days of band camp-which she was initially quite upset about, so we started looking at changing her airticket so she fly in a few days later. She eventually calmed down after she had more thought about it, and it will likely be fine. It is her last year for band and she is rather type A and enjoys mentoring the incoming freshman-she will miss their first days and I think that is what she was most upset about missing! The next question is "is it a monorail resort?" Talk about 2nd guessing as I debated the Poly early in planning! But BC is a resort I have wanted to stay at for 24 years (since I did my CP):) And SAB put any remaining doubts to rest... It's kinda nice to have another person to discuss all this planning with!

In regards to Sandcastle Club- my da was one of the kids that used to beg to go. He used to like going there at night instead of going out to dinner! He hated when he got too old to go. He went from age 6 through 12 and there was plenty to do for all ages. Sometimes I think between the pirate cruise and sandcastle club it wasn't just the theme park that kept us coming back!

Wanted to tell you guys my "secret plan" for the trip. We originally had planned to do the big Sweet 16 party for dd. Well she told us she would rather have the money for a car. Good decision but I still wanted her to have a special day So on August 26 we have s non park rest day plan. This is going to become "Kaylie Princess if the Day" day! We are going to give her breakfast in bed along with the Sweet 16 tiara we are secretly bringing. Making an appointment at Perriwigs for her hair, mani/pedi. Arranging for a photo shoot with Disney Fine Arts. Dinner that night is at CM buffet where we will have a special cake for her. We will finish up with the Birthday Illuminations Cruise! Also having a dozen long stemmed pink roses and Sweet 16 balloon delivered that day. I'm sooo excited to plan this surprise!!!

I'm not sure if it's a type A thing or just a teenager thing?? My 16 yr old daughter (also type A) always gets upset with me for planning trips for "her" summer. I just remind her that we fund her lifestyle so we are still in charge of making plans for the family. We love Disney, so she can just deal with it! I do understand why the mentoring is so important to your daughter. My 16 year old coaches my 11 year old's volleyball team, and it definitely helps fill some of her desire for independence. But don't get me wrong, even though my 16 year old always says she'd rather go somewhere other than Disney, she always has a great time. And she loves SAB too:) I hope you have the best vacation ever!

What a lovely day you have planned. Your daughter is one very lucky princess. Look forward to seeing plenty of photos of her on her special day. It all sounds brilliant :)

Oh - that sounds so wonderful! I have a few surprises planned for upcoming trip, but nothing terribly grand. My oldest daughter said there should be a surprise for me since I never get any. I said I get to go to Disney, and that's good enough for me. She said she was going to text my sister. Not sure if she's really planning something or not, but I admit I'm curious.

I'm wondering about on-line check in too. We're staying at BCV and I want to request a roll-a-way bed, upper floor, and EPCOT view. The online check in only lets me request upper floor. Should I do online check in and then call prior to arrival day for the other requests? I don't want to automatically get assigned a room without the opportunity to make these other requests. I know there is always the chance I won't get my requests, but would feel better knowing that at least I made them!

DVC does not provide roll away beds at all. If you need extra sleeping surfaces many bring blow up mattresses.

DisneyMonx7, what a special, loving day you have planned. Your DD is lucky to have you as her Mom

That sounds so fun!! The kids night out is Disney-screened babysitters, reserved through Disney. And my 3-yo may or may not be potty-trained when we go (he has been for a while with a regression in the middle, but still has to be pretty monitored) so that is another concern. God help us please on this.

That's an awesome review! I remember personally loving the camp dolphin as a kid. The staff there were awesome and I met a girl I pen pal-ed with for years! I am either way excited for date night :)

That's awesome! Maybe I should fit two nights in so they can try it out, lol. Lots of happy kids it sounds like!!
