Why no WBTA?

I just glanced over the schedules, but it appeared to me that they were moving the Wonder from LA to Miami for a while, then from Miami to Vancouver. So IIRC, there's no LA-Vancouver because it will be out of Miami in between the two.

There is a LA-Vancouver on may 20th 2013.
You find on the alaska & paciffic coast cruises on the Los Angeles to Vancouver 7 night.
It is on the same page as the LA Vancouver in 2012.

When I look I see the wonder leaving for Miami on May 6, 2013 and arriving in LA May 20, 2013 then the first Alaska cruise out of Vancouver starts May 27 so shouldn't there be a repo cruise between those two dates?

They snuck it in there! I was wondering what the plan was, as the last Miami-based cruise was May 2 and they weren't due to be in Vancouver until the 27th! So they're working in a 14 day PC and a 7 day repo...it makes sense now!

I see it now thanks for the help :)

And why not.

Glad you want to wait and are amazed. That's you and you are welcome to feel that way. I prefer to ask (which I did politely)

Thank you for asking for so many of us who are curious! :thumbsup2 Hubby has schedule bidding coming in June for all of 2013, which is seniority based, so hopefully DCL lets us know Fall 2013 dates by then. (Yep, the whole "work" thing LOL!) Since we know Madeira and St Martin port dates from the port calendars (that now show "TBA" instead of "Magic"), it at least gives us an idea of the timeframe since Disney has chosen not to share yet. :thumbsup2

Disney will eventually do a WBTA, so if that's what you want, sit tight til they get around to announcing it. Or you could make a refundable deposit on a different cruise.

Interesting that the Panama Canal cruise includes Cartegna but not Aruba or Costa Rica like they did last time. Aruba was a yawner, and Costa Rica was surprisingly filthy (for all their talk of ecology there were piles of garbage all along both sides of the highway -- really sad!) so maybe DCL got lots of negative feedback about those two ports.

Aruba a yawner? We had a blast in Aruba. A group of us rented a pirate ship and did a snorkeling excursion that included a buffet lunch and all you can drink. They took us to the boat in a "party" bus with music playing and we were given maracas to shake. Aruba is beautiful, and we hope DCL goes back there. Curacao was beautiful when they went there also.

It's a canned response of course, but here is what I received back in reference to my email to Karl Holtz:

Holly,

We appreciate your enthusiasm for Disney Cruise Line and thank you for
your recent inquiry.

We are always evaluating new itineraries and will continue to do so into
the future. As such, we are still finalizing plans for our fall
sailings aboard the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder in 2013 and look
forward to sharing that information when the time is right.

Again, thank you for your inquiry.

Sincerely,

George

So excited to see the new releases but why no WBTA? That is what we really want. Do we wait or go for one of the other med cruises? Our TA is in Hawaii for the next 2 weeks so no help there!

Totally off topic, but my TA is too so I have to ask if you use Deb at The Magic for Less? :rotfl:

I wonder what intineries they are planning for the Magic on her way back?!?
Or will she come back?

Ex Techie :)

OK I am confused... why is there only 1 PC cruise and 1 TA cruise. Shouldnt there be 2 PC (Miami-LA, LA-Miami) and 2 TA (Galv-Barc., Barc.-Galv.)?

And i saw on the blog on here where the Wonder will do a East Caribb cruise then do 4 night bahamas and 5 nt west caribbean. Is there a reason for just 1 7 night cruise?
Wish it was something different but its still a cruise! "old" itineraries are better than no itineraries!!

Im also confused....does this mean we have no more cruises out of LA?
Has the Wonder moved to Miami and Vancouver for Alaska? Bummer....they could have done 14 day cruises out of LA to Hawaii......

I was so happy to have the Magic so close.....Im disappointed.....

The other PC is in December 2012 (LA to Miami).

The WBTA is presumably going to happen in Fall 2013...itineraries have only been released through summer.

So let me get this right... (Im a visual learner so i write out a lot! lol)

Magic: W. Caribbean from Galveston through May. EBTA. Europe/Greece. WBTA (?), Same as winter (?)

Wonder: PC (Dec 2012). 7 night Caribb only once, 4 nt bahamas, 5 nt west caribbean. PC to LA, LA to Vancouver, Alaska, Vancouver to LA (?), PC (?), same as winter (?)

(?) = not announced yet.

Also, are the Galveston ports the same as 2012?

Maybe since the Magic will turn 15 they are doing a huge drydock?

Like new EVERYTHING.

Wonder will probably go back to Miami and do the same

When in Dec is the PC cruise? Cant find the dates? help please!

I am completely confident there will be a WBTA in Oct. 2013, but DCL may not want to publicize a drydock...thinking people may not want to cruise on an "old, worn-out" ship. Info release will happen in good time, I'm sure. I'm absolutely going to book it, but I don't know if I can resist a Panama Canal cruise in the meantime :goodvibes. Gotta get that second job.....:sad1:
