Playing "catchup" on this board...Still waiting for our cabin assignment also!
We are "from" NJ although I now live near Tampa FL and DD is coming from Rochester NY (hoping for no snow next weekend, as she had her flight cancelled this past weekend due to Nemo).
Does anyone know if we have to book Palo ahead of time (get a free dinner due to Platinum level) or can do that on board? or do they "assign" it to you?
DD24 has always been motion sick in cars and boats...the patch works best for her, although another DD had nasty side effects from it. Dramamine works, but made them all sleepy so they missed much of the fun on the cruise.
Not doing FE b/c I can never get my act together enough! We do look forward to meeting everyone though.
Suggestions of what to bring:
highlighter markers to highlight things you don't want to miss in the Navigator (program) each day ...also, you can pick up extra Navigators at Guest Services desk so everyone can have their very own!
magnetic pix of your favorite characters to post on your door (can easily print on magnet-backed paper on your computer...lots of ideas on DisBoards)...one thing we do on
DCL that we don't do on any other cruiseline!
A hanging travel organizer (or some people use a shoe holder) so you can easily move personal items from one side of the bathroom to the other! (For those who don't know, bathrooms on DCL are usually divided into 2 small rooms, so shower and toilet are not in same space, and usually, my hairbrush or toothbrush are not in the same space that I am!)
Don't Miss:
Aqua duck - at least once! Having someone wait at the bottom for me with a warm towel would have made it a bit nicer! That water is cold!
Fireworks on Pirate night - you will never feel so close to them as on the top of a cruise ship (and, only DCL does fireworks)
Shows - Disney has THE best shows on the high seas IMHO...Disney's Believe is my all-time favorite show (and I have seen it 6 times!)
Midship Detective Agency - not just for kids! Plus, you get to see a lot of the amazing, interactive artwork around the ship (I swear, every time I cruise, I find another piece of art that I don't remember seeing before)
Above all, remember that in 4 nights, you CANNOT do everything - just like in the parks, save something for next time! See you real soon
