2013 Dues Statement Up

We own at AKL and when the MF numbers came out, we calculated we'd be paying an extra $100-$200 this year for our dues.

Went online today and saw our 2013 dues statement. We are paying...wait for it...an extra $20.02 compared to last year.

Apparently I'm really bad at math?!?

There is an overcharge factor. What happened is that you paid more for estimated taxes last year than they actually ended up being and thus you will have that overcharge credited to 2013 dues. Thus though the per point dues increase may have led to $100 more than you paid last year, the overcharge lowers that amount. In the past there have been both overcharges and undercharges (leading to higher amounts the next year) usually associated with property taxes. Unlike other expenses, Disney does not have any control over that amount since it depends on and is controlled by the greed of the local politicians.

My BLT dues went up by $34.28

So despite all the complaints about the huge increase (was it 8%), it's really more like (4.6%)

And I just finished paying it using 16 of my $50 GCs from Target

We own 100 points at AKV and 50 points at HHI. Our MF's went up a whole $1.30.
