Hey all! I just went into work today and found out that BC is one of the handful of "host" hotels/resorts for the big America Academic of Pediatrics Annual Conference at the end of October. This conference is bonkers huge without Disney at its footsteps. Just an FYI for those that are staying during that time. I forgot to look at the dates, but it usually starts around the 21st or 23rd of October. Hopefully things won't be too disturbed.

One of my docs was going to take me to watch his kids, but I have a little princess of my own to take care of. Oh well...we'll just have to take our own vacation next year! :goodvibes

Uh oh!!!:sad2: That is when we are there at BC....hope it doesn't affect too much.:confused3 Thanks for the heads up.:thumbsup2

I am sitting at SAB watching my 2 dd's have a blast while night swimming . A mama duck and her baby swim each night, and my girls are in love!! I will think about this night when the pressures of the real world are a reality. Right now , I am enjoying pixie dust and Disney magic!!

Awesome!!:cool1:

Ack! So that's why it's been so difficult to book. I figured it was just F&W, which is reason enough, but that explains it. We'll be there from October 23-30, so we'll be in the thick of it. Maybe it's a blessing in disguise that we've booked BCV instead of BC - a little removed from the crowds, perhaps...?

Good morning everyone!

:cloud9: I know we are YC, but, with a thunderstorm going on here, that just makes me even more excited for our trip!!!

Oh no, we arrive on the 23rd. Wondered why its fully booked. I was trying to upgrade my room to GV but nothing until the 29th.

Do you know how long it's on for?

Thanks for the heads up. We will be prepared!

Edit. Just googled it and its on 26-29th, that'll explain why DHS is closed at 6pm on the 26th -

Quote from their website - Make connections and memories with your family and guests at our daily signature networking events including an exclusive complimentary evening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Learn about reduced ticket packages for Orlando theme parks and attractions and significantly discounted hotel rates at Walt Disney World® Resort.

I am loving the live updates on this thread! I've been looking for Beach Club "heavy" trip reports with lots of pictures but haven't found many - does anyone have favorites to recommend?

Hey! I just looked on their website too and you're right Oct 26-29. We are at BC the 21-25 so we will just miss it.

I wonder if families though will take advantage and come early and stay after...:confused3

I have started to keep links to trip reports in the very first post on Page 1.

I have several for YC, but so far this is all I have for BC:

A May 2012 Beach Club Trip of a Lifetime by Feckless

3rd Annual We are "NEVER" going to Disney in the summer again :cool2: TR by natebenma, July 2009 and July 2010 Beach Club

The second one is mine, and has a Table of Contents, so you should be able to link to just the Beach Club resort sections if you wish.

There are a couple of current BC trip reports-

I am subscribed to SWW, BCR & Technically we were literally on Mars by lsenquiz. She is just on the chapter where she checks into BC (haven't read it yet)

Hope that gives you some reading material for a little bit.

I'll bet that's the case. Before I snagged a spot at BCV, I looked for availability just two days at a time at BC in case we wanted to do a split stay. At least when I was looking a few weeks back, the only option has been a 2BR CL villa from the 23rd through the 30th. :/

We are waiting for our turn in the Animation Academy at DHS. Today is really hot so we have been enjoying the shows and we are taking it slow. We have Fast Passes for toy story at 1:30 and then we are headed to SAB. Chairs in the afternoon have been a little hard to find, but not impossible.

How long is the wait for Animation Academy? Haven't done that before, but would like to in July!!

Alternate Options to Driving Yourself ...

1 -- Take a cab to WL. Then boat over to WL. Return to BC via bus.

2 -- Take the boat or walk to DHS. Grab a bus there to WL.

3 -- If you have park hoppers, walk thru Epcot exit the front of the park and take the bus to WL. If visiting MK, you would already be using a park day on your tickets so know that is not an issue, would just have to be hoppers.

Enjoy whichever way you get there.

Thank you so much for the info. I like the boat to DHS. :)

How exciting I am sooooooo not prepared. I am just getting my act together and hoping that everything will fall in place. what park are you going to first? Just curious :)

Hi BC and YC lovers!! I am a Poly lover but really thinking of staying at BC this year. We're there for 4 nights this time and out of those 4 days we have 3 ADR's (one each day) at Epcot, just one at MK. I like the idea of staying next to Epcot since that is where we will spend the majority of our time. Can anyone give me the pro's and con's of the BC? It's my DH and I and we will be staying at the resort after 4 night on DCL.

It is so much fun!! We laughed ourselves silly, cause non of us can draw! But by the end it actually looked like the character we were supposed to draw!
It is a matter of when you arrive, and where the current class is in their session. I think the class runs 20? min or so. Also how crowded it is. If there isn't room when they are letting in and u missed the cut off, you would have to wait for the next session. But if you go right when a class is getting in, you'll prob have a max of 20 min wait. Worth it! We didnt do this until 2 yrs ago, and was looking for a few different things to do.

We love it there!!! It is WAY to convenient to EPCOT world showcase....prepare to be spoiled by that!!

We just returned from a family gathering at CSR, and the entire time my DH was saying "Man, it sure is far from the bus stop at EPCOT to the countries, if we were at BC, we'd be sipping an adult beverage by now!!!"

We tend to only spend one morning in Future world, so walking through that area to get to the countries was not enjoyable for me aching feet!!!

It's also great for an afternoon swim in the gorgeous SAB!!!

We find ourselves doing most of our eating in Epcot and at the Epcot resorts, so staying at the BC really cuts down on travel time. The BC's biggest asset is location. It is a short 5 - 10 minute walk to the International Gateway. There is entertainment in the evenings on the Boardwalk. SAB has two hot tubs, something the Poly is missing. And if the main pool is crowded, you can head over to the quiet pool at the Beach Club Villas. It is really nice.

I would say that the only disadvantage to the BC is that it could use a little better counter service options. But the ease of walking into Epcot for a quick meal somewhat compensates for it.

The rooms are a little smaller than the rooms at the Poly, but I feel like they are much nicer.

Just make sure you buy park hoppers. :)
