Sorin just opened up here in Vancouver so excited. It's called Flyin over Canada. So a Canadian version of Sorin over California! Woohoo. I can't wait to see it.
It's at Canada Place right in same building as cruise ship terminal, for those planning an Alaska Cruise! Too bad Mickey T that it wasn't open when you were here!

Now that the party is over, I can focus on getting my daughter ready for Fine Arts Camp at St. Mary's College in Notre Dame, IN. She goes for a week and then when we pick her up, we drive straight to WDW! Yay!!!!!

This sounds like fun- has your daughter gone there before? Looking for ideas for next summer for my oldest who will be too old for our usual summer daycare program...

This is her fourth year attending. She really enjoys it! We drive her on Sunday and pick her up on Friday. The girls stay in the dorms and eat in the cafeteria....ice cream is available at each meal, which is a highlight! They take classes all day....dance, writing, choir, pottery/art, etc and there is a performance on Friday afternoon. They take a field trip to Shipsawana to see a play and they also walk across the street to the Notre Dame bookstore. This will be Megan's last year attending and she's really going to miss it.

Here is the July activities schedule. I tried playing around with the contrast of the schedule so that it is easier to read than the all purple ones, but I'm not sure if I succeeded.






Campfire time for July is 7:30 PM. Movie follows at 9:00 PM.

I haven't seen the Odd Life of Timothy Green, but from what I have heard, please familiarize yourself with the ending before having young kids view this movie.

Movie will be moved inside to the Solarium in the event of inclement weather.

Inspired by "O Canada," in 2011, DP and I have since been to Montreal 3 times, as it's about a 5.5 hour drive from us and have more than enjoyed our stays. Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Toronto and Niagara Falls are on the short-list for future weekend get-aways!

Checked in at 10:45. Got a text about a half hour ago that the room was ready but they texted me the wrong room! No problem. Got the right room now. Think I will be able to see fireworks from our balcony . The skies just opened up. Still no prob. Going to head to MK to see about a castle

COFFEE alert : it seems they are in the midst of the elusive Joffreys switch. In my room the reg coffee is Joffreys and the decaf is still cuisinart .

Going to see of I can go find Teena and say hello

When I first walked in I saw the cuisinart but then.... I saw these black packets behind and low and behold new coffee .

Crowds aren't as bad as usual it seems
We were able to do everything we wanted
At MK yesterday including the new Ariel
rise and ETWB. Dinner at Bog was
wonderful. Definitely worth it

Today we hit DHS at rope drop!

Hi everyone

We are checking in today and we are soooo excited Should arrive by 1:00 I will try to post details when I can. We have ADR for Whispering Canyon tonight otherwise we plan in enjoying the Resort. We drove down from Massachusetts and all I can think about is a drink from Hurricane Hannah's.
Also we are celebrating a BDay and an Anniversary my kids want me to wear the pins (I do not) can you tell me where to get the pins? Just in case I break down

No.

You may bring your own noodles, though.

Latest reports are that there is no longer a charge for the tubes in the lazy river/SAB. They are just there for the taking, as available. This has met with mixed reactions- there have been complaints that the lazy river is too crowded because empty tubes are floating, not placed to the side of the river when not in use.

Thanks! We've had quite the change in plans with all of the Calgary flooding last week, but we're still celebrating. With DH being Canadian, and DS9 and DD7 being dual citizens (Canadian and American), we can't let a little water get in the way of proper Canada Day celebrations.

On that note, I have to give a shout out to the people of Calgary. We didn't know what we'd flying into, with the whole downtown core being flooded just 7 days before our arrival. But it's amazing - the commitment to bring their city back, even in time for Stampede, is remarkable!

Stay safe to my fellow YC/BC New Englanders! We've been through about 4 tornado warnings over the past 2 hours or so. Eek.

My town kept being mentioned in conjunction with the term "funnel cloud," and Dee, they just were talking about torrential rain where you live!

Glad you've had such a great time at BC! I'm very curious to see how the Poly compares for you. We stayed there last trip and really loved it, but it seems there are huge, and very different, pros to each resort. Keep us posted!

You are right! We just got checked in and walked around the resort. I was just asking my daughter which hotel she likes better and she said she needs a little more time to make a decision. The Poly has a totally different feel and vibe. The weather has been overcast and/or raining all day so I'm interested to see what it will be like when it's sunny and the pool is crowded. I'll definitely let you all know!
