OK Dee, just made our official reservations!!!

We did a little adjusting.........our first Split Stay :cool1::cool1::cool1:

We will be at the Poly from July 19th - 23rd, then will head over to BC from 23rd to 27th.!!!!

It finally feels like it's getting closer!!

I'll make the change and I'm very excited for you because that is an awesome split stay, but...

A little bit of a sad face :(

Our dates overlapped at the BC for a couple of days, but now you are arriving after we leave.

It's a great feeling to be booked!!!

:woohoo:

Called before heading in to school at lunch for Spiritwear Sales :cheer2:

So glad to hear you got it too!

I knew there was a reason I've been sneaking and lurking on the DIS at work!
I didn't know if you knew or not. I usually don't log on at work but wanted to make sure you knew!

Now I'm off until April 8!!!! One of our kindergarten teachers and her family are leaving for Disney tonight. Lots of Disney lovers at our school.

We're booked in a CL standard view room at YC for just our first two nights (4-7 through 4-9) and then on the 9th, we're moving to a garden view at YC. I did online check-in for both reservations, and on the second one, noted that we'd be "arriving" at 7:30 a.m. I did this in the hopes that I could possibly drop our bags right into the new room. Any chance this could happen?

I was going to say, see you there, but then I saw that you're yc. We're bc, and we'll be cl sv the 3rd -10th! Yeah, we're counting down hours now!!:cool1:

That makes me real sad!!!! I was going to do BC first, but worried that I wouldn't want to leave for my Poly stay :).

Took advantage of the Visa offer......love the Dis fir giving me the heads up

See you at the pool!!

I have a crazy question, lol. Does anyone remember when they left Mk & AK what number gate the yacht and BC is for the buses. I been looking and I was curious. I hate taking the buses. I hate waiting in line for the buses, I hate folding the strollers to get on the buses. I can't wait until my kids are older.

I know this is probably not much help so I am sorry in advance. I know I saw somewhere a picture of the gate numbers for Ak specifically. Now for the unhelpful part...I just can't remember where I saw it. It may have been on the Theme Park thread here or I was just doing a google search. I will try to jog my memory and get back to you. I also have small children, DS5 and DD3 so I know how you feel.

If memory serves, the YC/BC bus stop at AK is very close to the gate.

ETA: Here is a link with a pic of the bus stop order from last summer

I GOT IT! The BC bus for AK is station 3. MK is gate 8.

Just booked the second half of our split stay at BC!! June 21st through 26th!!
I was able to get 30% off on standard and garden view. Please add us to the list!!! I can't wait to get back to Beach Club!

We got our luggage tags for ME express today! You know it's getting close when those come in the mail!!:banana:

Kudos to our travel agent that we used this time, too. She handmade autograph books for all 3 of our kids!:love:

We are doing the same split stay at almost the same time...just in reverse order. Our Poly dates overlap...we're at BC 7/13-7/17 and Poly 7/17-7/23. Would love to meet up for a quick hello!

I need to add a day at the beginning and end of our trip due to flights. Should I just call WDW and book a room or should I use an agent to get a discount? We are just going to make the first night a relaxing pool night as we'll be getting in late anyway....

FINALLY ALL CAUGHT UP!

That's funny it's the same city! Winter has been too long this year for sure!

It's a decent size suburb of Chicago. We are finally getting a break from the cold and reached 50 today! :beach:

Hello Neighbor! it's a small world after all! :)

Hi Neighbor! :wave2: My DSIL and DBIL actually live in Orland Park...very small world!

So I'm 10 days out from the 60 day mark and am looking forward to doing my online check-in. I have already called in and requested full balcony, close to the main lobby, higher floor for our water/pool view. I know all of these are not options with online check-in, but I'm still going to try. Today I started packing and shopping lists....oh how I love this time of the pre-trip.

I know the new website is still not 100%. But how accurate do you think it is for showing availability? The week of 11-9-13 to 11-16-13 is showing only one room category available. Does anyone have a guess on this as to if the resort is totally booked?

SHHHHH!!! (Come closer) :cool2: :ssst:

The reason that we don't talk about the Yacht Club is because it is our back up plan for when we make the BC SOOOO popular that even us groupies can't get a reservation.

To be honest, the Beach Club is like the popular sister, sort of like the Marsha Brady of resorts. The BC has the Market Place and it has all the cool CM's hanging there, like Teena. It's like a noisy, loud party and it's only a matter of time before Davy Jones strolls in through the doors and tries to check in. Unfortunately the groupies overwhelm him and he has to take off.

Now when we are talking about the Yacht Club, we are talking Jan Brady all the way. Like Jan, the YC is classy but in a nerdy way. It's white knee socks are pulled up a little too high and and all that nautical decor is a little like one of Jan's jumpers, sturdy, timeless and 100 % polyester. Instead of of Davy Jones running around the resort singing to unsuspecting middle aged women you have the George Glass's of the world hurrying to and fro, on the way to their conventions, with no time what so ever for flirting.

All kidding aside, I think the main difference is that the Beach Club is more family oriented and the Yacht Club is a convention resort, which means it's target guest is the business traveler. The reality is that both resorts are just decorated buildings with almost identical amenities, many of them shared and certainly families are just as welcome at the Yacht Club as they would be at the Art of Animation. The difference is primarily in the decorations and marketing. If I pulled up with a bus load of toddlers I would have no problem booking the Yacht Club for my stay, in fact the Yacht Club is actually closer to the kid's area at Storm Along Bay.

The other reason that we talk so much about the Beach Club is because our friend Teena is there. She means the world to us and she's provided endless answers to all of our questions. We love her common sense, tell it like it really is approach. She helps us with answers and opinions whenever she can and that helps making plans for our Disney vacation all the better.

So there you have it!

~NM

It all makes sense now. I finally understand why I chose the YC for our last stay.

I always wanted to be Marsha Brady, but always knew I was really Jan. ::yes::

Absolutely not too early! We have already started a list for 2014.

Are you going to be staying with us when you book your trip?

:goodvibes

Of course!!!! After our stay in September I am not sure we want to stay anywhere else :). Not sure of our exact dates yet but as soon as I have them I will let you know so we can be added to the BOG list!!!

Sounds possible! What I would suggest you do is discuss this with the CL CM who checks you in on April 7. Tell them what you have said here- that you are switching over to a different room at the YC on April 9 and it would be great if your room was ready when you check out of CL.

What are your plans for the switchover day? Are you hanging around the resort or going to a park?

Hoping to do rope drop at AK through about 2:00, then back to YC. I'm planning to pack a separate bag of clothes which won't need to be opened until after the switch, so "packing" up shouldn't be too bad. I'm thinking that I could just grab a bell cart around 7:30, load it up and either empty it into the new room, or leave it with bell services.
