I just called to make a room only reservation for January 2013 and had a pleasant conversation with the CM who helped make the arrangements. I asked about checking for pins under my name and my husband's name. She stated that no pins have come out yet for 2013 at all. She also mentioned - before I even had a chance to ask (though I was planning to!) - that AAA rates aren't out yet for 2013, either. She said that "supposedly" AAA rates and packages will be available in July or August, so we should call back in a month or so to check. I know people have heard different things when calling, so wanted to report on my own experience. I was also assured that the rates I booked under are the actual (rack) rates for those days, which I think is a departure from prior years booking before rates are released online. I think this was the most efficient call I have had setting up a Disney trip, so even with no discounts yet, I'm happy! Now looking forward to the window opening up to make dining reservations (and hopefully release of the January EMH schedule soon to assist with planning).

Happy planning, all.

That sounds exciting! I looked at Mousesavers and last year the % Off PINs for January came out in late September or early October so I'm hoping they will be out around then! I am so glad that I was paying the actual rack rate for my room in January (6th-10th) instead of the most expensive rate. $100/night isn't too bad, but I'm hoping a % Off PIN will come out to help make it cheaper.

I'm ready to make a couple of ADRs. I really want to eat at the Cali Grill and BoG! :lovestruc I don't have too much of a plan besides going to MK as much as possible. :rotfl:

I do believe that the castmember was correct in what she told you because I've been told some of the same things. I received a room only quote for May 22 to June 1, 2013 and was told that the quote definitely was at 2013 rates because they had already been established. I was also told that there are no pin codes out that cover any portion of 2013 and that the 2013 AAA rates aren't out yet either.

I called Disney Travel on my way home from work day before yesterday and asked about the 2013 package release date. Without any hesitation, whatsoever, the castmember said the last week of July. There was no "some time in..." or "maybe", simply last week of July and to watch the Disney site.

Like you, I know that we are to take what the CMs say with a grain of salt but it does sound like they have been told specific information that can be given out (like the 2013 room only rates...AAA not being out yet...no 2013 pin codes yet). I hope that the CM that I spoke with was correct when she said the last week of July for 2013 package bookings. Of course, I'd love to see them released earlier. ;)

What are the different ways you can check to see if you have a PIN attached to your name/email address? I know you can call but is there a way you can check online? I ask because I used to get PINs all the time in my email account that was hacked and that I do not have access to any longer. Not even sure if the email account is still open? I wonder if I have a PIN in there I can use!! What ways can I figure out a PIN other than calling in or checking my email or snail mail? Any online options? TIA!

There is no other way to check for PINs other than getting them by email, mail, calling or using a GP PIN.

What exactly is a PIN? Is this some sort of savings or discount? How would you go about signing up or receiving something like this to use? thanks Sorry for all the questions I am new to this and trying to plan a week vacation for april of next year for my family of 5. this will be our first vacation, the kids have never been.:yay:

Pins are codes attached to a specific person - you can receive them in the mail or via email from Disney - with a discount for your family to book a Disney vacation. These are separate from the general public discounts listed on Disney's website, or Disney Visa discounts for Disney Visa cardholders. There is a lot of variation in the pin code offers, and folks on these boards often post when they receive one so you will have a sense of the kinds of offers available through pins for a set of dates. You can't transfer the pins to other people, but sometimes if you get one and it indicates that it can be used for certain resorts/dates, if you call, you may learn that you can also use the code for a broader set of resorts and dates. The discount may vary. There doesn't seem to be any clear guidelines for when Disney sends out pins, or to whom. Some people seem to get them pretty frequently, others never get them. People call to check if they have one (the regular reservations number) since items can get lost in the mail, or be sent to an old email address, or go to spam, etc.

Good luck! I hope this made sense.
