There has been lots of talking on 2012 lately. So do you think that is when the world is going to end.

I don't think so either. I don't think it's impossible that *something* might happen and change our lives... but I think it's pretty improbable. It'll probably just come and go like Y2K.

Not even the Maya, who devised that calendar, think that the world is going to end in 2012.

People have been predicting the end of the world since time began. They've always been wrong thus far. I hate to sound harsh... but I think you'd have to be an idiot to think that the world was going to end in 2012.

"The world" technically will not end. It might be a ball of ice or flames at some point in time or just another cycle of life on it void of humans. Could even be "Life After People" and everything here is still living.

Now the human race may disappear off this planet but that still does not mean the human race will end there either. We might get off this rock. Anyway that is my hope for the future of mankind.

All this talk about 2012 reminds me of, about 20 years ago, there was some similar crazy prediction by Nostradamus that the world was going to end. He even had it down to the minute. And here we are.

Do I think the world will end in 2012 - I don't know. The world will end someday - or at least the world as we know it will end. I don't believe we will get a memo or be assured of the time and date - so it could be in 2012 or 2312 or some other time -we just don't know

I realize everyone does not adhere to the Bible, but for those that do, we are told that no man will know when the end is upon us. Also, to say that the year is 2012 would totally overlook the book of Revelations.

I have been worried about this since I went to Mexico in 2002 and a tour guide said the Mayans predicted December 21, 2012 as the end of the world

But now I have read that the Maya didn't predict this so I hope that my guide was WRONG.

I also have faith in God and that when He decides to send his son, the world will end. That has helped some.

we've got about 5 billion years (give or take a few million) before the sun expands into a red giant and incinerates the Earth; so that about when the world will end..... unless, of course, the weakened gravitational pull of the sun allows the planet's orbit to expand out, and avoid being swallowed up; but you still might want to consider relocating to someplace nicer (like Europa or Titan)

No, I don't think it will. Although, with all the recent earth quakes, I'm beginning to wonder if something is going to happen.

Will the world end on December 21, 2012? I don't know, but if it will I'm not going to worry about it since there's nothing I can do about it.
