2012 Vacation Planner

Am I the only one who just now got the 2012 vacation planner? I never pay attention to the paper one anymore because I book and use the online tools, but it came in the mail today and both the wife and I found it odd, since you can book 11 months in advance. Odder still is that the book came with a message saying that the 2013 planner will be mailed in February of this year.

I don't feel like looking that in depth, but did they just do a MASSIVE change to the point charts for 2012?

We just got ours today also. I guess that Disney doesn't care that they are wasting money since the members are footing the bill. Bilby said that there will be a point adjustment in 2013.

She also said that there where new home resort rules that were supposed to be published back in December but I haven't seen them.

I got by 2012 planner a few weeks ago. Not sure why I needed another one since I had the 2011-2012 one. It really is a waste of money printing and mailing these out. I wish there was an Opt out option and if you later wanted a big book to sit around you could request it.

I suspect DVC does this for self serving reasons. There may be the small percent of folks who let them out o their coffee table and DVC may hope that spurs sales. Just a guess.

Received my 2012 Vacation Planner about two weeks ago. Like most on here on the Dis boards, I seldom refer to it anymore. A possible solution would be to send a paper copy to new members their first year as members and then offer access online and save the printing and mailing cost.

Why doesn't DVC put photos of each resort with room layouts in the planner anymore? I find it sort of boring. The old blue planner from 2007 was the best and made me want to visit Disney World everytime I looked through it. The new planner doesn't seem to have any Magic to it.

Got ours last week too. Seems like the Boardwalk gets a little cheaper every year.
