I think we have to wait until April for any offers. They will. Otherwise we will all be booking to stay at Pontins because the Chief Exec announced last week that he's bringing "Disney to Pontins"

I got a quote this morning, 3 weeks offsite in Sept, £3,700. I would expect to pay about £2k-£2.5k DIY.

Virgin Holiday's Quote

Flying from Gatwick on Friday May 11th 2012 (7 night cruise starts on the 12th of May so we would probably stay at the port)
Checking into the Beach Club on the 19th for 6 nights (flying home on the 25th) = £3163.50 for two adults

The other option we looked at was POR and that came in at £2412.90

Both prices include a car with fully inclusive insurance but not tickets/dining etc

As much as I love booking early there isn't really an incentive so I think we are going to wait and see if free dining or other offers come out in April

I'm afraid these price increases are down to the increase in the oil price which has gone from $70 a barrel in May last year to over $100 a barrel today (and is unlikely to go down - if anything it is only going to go up as the global economy picks up).

It will start to price out Europeans being able to travel to the States I reckon.

yikes - just priced up for October 2012 - exact same holiday as this year except DD will be 10 not 9 and there is no free dining. The price for the same week at AKL in 2012 is up £1950. That's priced us out I'm afraid.

If free dining is added it will still be an increase of £1000 (most of which is the tax and fuel charge) so I'm not sure if we could manage that but can't afford to add to our holiday by 2k so will either be elsewhere for us next year or save to go to the USA at Easter 2013.
