2012 Free Dining Watch and Wait HERE

We're booked Sept 9-16. Really, REALLY hope that FD is offered again this year. There are 9 of us going, so it would definitely help keep costs down.

We went last year around the same time and I remember booking our FD trip on March 17th. Hoping that it will be out by our 180 day mark which is coming up fast!

That is the same week we are planning to go and there are nine of us also. Where are you staying? We haven't booked yet but I'm leaning toward Saratoga Springs Resort.

I'd even take a good discount on the resort at this point.

looking back at FD release dates....
when we went in 2010 it was release the first week in may 2010 for august. last year i found it was released on april 28 for disney visa card holders. 2010 FD started the week we usually go, check in the 3rd friday of august, last year they bumped it up a wee to aug 28th. uugghh i hope that isnt the case this year. if so we will be moving our ressie to that week and DD will miss the first 3 days of school, senior year. i hope thats not the case this year, i wont be able to wait another week to go!!! uuuggghhhhh... the anticipation is killing me!!!

Probably 0%. In 8 years of free dining discounts there has never been a free dining discount for those dates. Only one time did they have a June offer and it was for 2 days, June 1 and 2 last year.

Say it ain't so! Mousesavers says that free dining kicked in on Aug 19 last year. I guessed it would begin when value season kicked in this year. We will be there from Aug 20-28, I am really hoping for FD.

Looking back at 2011 you need to look closely -- there were actually two "start dates" for August 2011 free dining:

Arrivals: 8/19/11-9/29/11 Offered: 8/16/10, exp 12/20/10
Arrivals: 8/28/11-9/24/11 Offered: 4/28/11 Visa holders, exp 8/27/11
Arrivals: 8/28/11-9/24/11 Offered: 5/2/11 public, exp 8/27/11

So for 2011 arrivals if you booked between August 2010 and December 2010, you could get free dining starting on Aug 19, 2011. I did that I had free dining Aug 20-27, 2011.

If you didn't book in 2010 then another package was offered in spring 2011. That time the window started for arrivals on August 28th, 2011.

As for what will happen with August 2012, we can guess/hope that the start date will match the August 19, 2012 date used with the Canadian and Latin American free dining offers from last fall. But there's no way to know until/if it's released.

Yes it so we had it last year and we checked in on the 19th and departed the
29th ! We were there during the EarthQuake that happened back home then the Hurricane we almost couldnt leave Disney!! LOL

We are from Williamsburg, and we had the same issues. We were there last year from the 21st until the 31st. We weren't sure what we were going to come home to. We lost all the food in our house and freezers. The power came back on the day before we got home. We booked a Bounceback for this year in August and our dates begin on the 17th this year, which was the first day of the Bounceback.

I know it was a CRAZY August last year ! I didn't book the BB offer because we are doing a Disney Cruise in June and we were suppose to go in December but that didnt work out hence being able to go in Aug now ! and having to wait for Free Dining !! Someone did post on another thread that they spoke to a CM today and they said March 1st would be Disney Visa Card Holders and March 5th would be General Public but she was told the dates would be August 25th through September 29th so it will be interesting to see what the dates actually wind up being based on that info and the BB dates

my TA said that second later date really screwed alot of people up. i figured if they did that this year, i will just change my date to the next week, its worth saving 1300.00 on the dining plan, ill be stalking the boards from here on out!!! lol we are booked 08-19- 08-25

Actually, everything on Mousesavers and on the Codes and Rates board on the Dis says out of the 9 Fall free dining offers, all dates were released in the March/April timeframe and only once in early May. I'm not saying that the new Fall free dining offer will come out this Thusday, but it should come out in the next few weeks or so.

Not true. We went on a FD pin last year June 11-16th. I received the pin in my email after I booked last Febuary. I actually received a 2nd FD pin via email in April, but it was for dates later in the year.

When we went in 2010, I was preparing to book a bounce-back offer for the following year. However, WEEKS before we went, Disney pulled an un precidented act and OFFERED Free Dining for the following year to the general public.... No need to book bounce-back!!!
Last year, wasn't planning on returning so soon, so didn't even think about booking bounce-back.... So now waiting..

Moral of the story... Disney plays by their own rules, so I for one will be watching very closely of Thu...
