I saw the Blog post this morning. What a waste of cyberspace. We want real F & W info not fluff filler! I don't watch HGTV, I have no idea who any of those people are and I have no intention of wasting my eating/drinking time listening to any of them tell me how to decorate a table or fold napkins.

I was wondering why on Earth they would be there. What's the relevance? I want to see Food Network, Travel Channel, & Bravo stars!

If you ask me (and no one did ... :lmao:) someone at Disney has decided that the reason people love F&W is the "celebrity" appearances and not the food and wine.

To each his own, but it does nothing for us and never really has.

The connection is HGTV is paying Disney and I am pretty sure they share ownership with HGTV

And does Travel Channel show anything even remotely relevant,,,,,,I guess those eating shows could try to shove down every food offering in 25 minutes :rotfl2: Or they could hunt for ghosts at Epcot. That channel is so bad now:(

I don't care about the "stars" either. Have no interest. But this teasing w/little bits of info on F&W is killing me. I want to see the menus & map!

The powers that be at Disney have a warped idea of what constitutes a "celebrity" IMO. Who's next, the Kardashians? It was bad enough when they were pushing Susie Coelho on us a few years back. Never wasted my time on her seminars.

I agree. It's supposed to be the TRAVEL channel, not the ghost channel. Seems every time I look to see what is on travel, it's haunted something or other. Where are the actual shows about travel?

:scared: :crazy2:

At least people know who they are! I watch HGTV fairly regularly (my 10 yr old is addicted) and the only show I've seen from the list besides Design Star is Kitchen Crashers. The rest are obscure shows that show at odd hours.

So how many days do you typically dedicate towards the F&W Festival? Can you do everything in 1 day or would you advise going 2 or more days?

It depends on how much you want to immerse yourself into the experience. Personally I would suggests at least two days to sample the food booths around World Showcase. If you want to experience some of the special events that you pay extra for then you need to add a day or two for just the Wine seminars & Cooking demos if those are of interest to you and additional days as needed for the pricier events such as the Food & Wine Pairings, Sweet Sundays, special dining events, etc. Of course some of those can be done during the same days you are sampling at the booths.

Keep in mind that many of us posting on this thread are Die Hard F & W veterans and will spend 1 or 2 weeks or even the entire length of the festival at WDW.

Well my personal max has been 2 weeks but I know some people I've spoken with over the years have stayed for the entire festival. Maybe when I retire I'll plan to stay for the whole thing. This is when owning DVC comes in handy. Some stay at Fort Wilderness Campground in their own RV's or Trailers.

Not to go too far off topic, but the same thing has happened to channels like the History and Discovery channels. How many shows about people's junk can we watch?
