2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ ~ March, April and May ~Do Not Post Here-Old Thread

Thanks to Feckless and everyone else for the positive thoughts. I kept my cool when I called back (since many of us know that calling 3 different times for one question, you'll get three different answers) and got a different Cast Member. I told them what had happened and she said "Oh no sweetheart! They were wrong. If we booked it and you placed down a down payment, it's set." So they went to I have no idea who and got it switched back. Thank God!

I was about to flip out but having been in the Hospitality Industry for over 15 years I knew better. I'm just glad that it was able to be fixed but more importantly it was this week it happened and not next when I am at a conference.

Thanks again for all of the thoughts and prayers.

I'm so glad they were able to get it worked out for you!! :woohoo:

My DD is happily working on her mousekeeping envelopes right now! She is so excited! So so soon we will be at beach club!!

Heidi she's adorable! :wave2: to a fellow GF!

Thank you all for the laughs and such great information! I have been trying so hard to keep up with this thread, and I am only about 20 pages behind now. ;)

I am also diligently trying to make dining reservations since our trip is only 45 days away and only have a couple so far. One thing I did want to ask the experts here is travel time from Beach Club to MK, and then from MK to Animal Kingdom. We are only staying 4 nights and it is our first trip (and probably last for a long time) so we are spending one full day each at Epcot, MK, and HS. The 2 travel days will be Epcot and HS since they are both so close and the kids have lots of things they want to see at both parks, plus we want some down time at the pool. Since we aren't going to AK and my daughter is a little sad about that, I would love to go to lunch or dinner at Sanaa since she can see the animals from there. I also would like to do it on the magic kingdom day since that is the only day we will be hopping on a bus. I guess my question is, will it take up a lot of our day to do this? I would even do a late lunch there, come back to BC for a bit and then go back to MK if that doesn't sound too crazy. I do have reservations at California Grill but would give them up so my daughter could see the animals.

Sorry this was so long winded! Thanks!

Just don't blame me if you find yourself being very unproductive because you've become obsessed with the map. :lmao:

The thing I like is that it was taken during the Marathon. If you look everyone is going in the back gate at WS. Not IG......No. No obsession here.

....and they said we need to check on something. Put me on hold for about 10 mins, came back and said "The discount code you were booked with well, it's not valid and we'll need to change you rate to Rack pricing."

So glad this worked out. I would be upset too. That's why we have the DIS. To share.....

Oh NO! Obviously they can tell from your file that you were given a discount. Have you made a deposit? If so, there was an OFFER (the price with discount) and ACCEPTANCE (you saying YES, we are going) and CONSIDERATION (the payment of the deposit). Those are the three requirements to form a contract. The argument would be that they cannot now breach this contract by rescinding the discount. Also, you have RELIED on this contract to your DETRIMENT ("detrimental reliance") by booking your airfare.

Legal speak comes later, as you go up the line. I never haul that out unless my back is against the wall, but you know what? You are in the right. Keep your head, stay positive, cry a bit, and I'll bet it will all work out. Good luck.

Feckless, you sound like a lawyer. I'm having flashbacks to 1st year Contracts! (says another lawyer).

Teena, it's definitely our loss :( But aren't you going to be on a wonderful Disney cruise?

When are you back? We check out on the morning of Sunday, 4/22. Having breakfast at Cape May beforehand :)

Yep, on a 7 night Disney cruise. I'll be there on Sunday, 4/22. I start at 9:30 AM. Hopefully I'll get to meet you.

Tastycakes are made in Philadelphia and I am originally from South Jersey (across the river from Philly) and Tastycakes are something that I really miss now that we live in Florida. We love Florida but there are some things that you just can't get here. The thing we miss the most is the Jersey tomatoes and Jersey corn and then of course the Philly Cheesesteaks and Tastycakes.

Tastycakes are sort of like Little Debbie but IMO 1000 times better. We grew up on Tastycakes and Tastypies and just figured they were shipped everywhere. It was a shock to find they aren't here in Florida. Recently we have been able to find some in Walmart and Publix but mostly just the Butterscotch and the Jelly Krimpets. There are loads of varieties and the chocolate ones are my favorites! Their pies are sooooo good too!

I'm new to the Dis and love the Beach Club and this thread. I was looking through all of the old posts and of course the first one I feel the need to reply to is about food :goodvibes. I live on the river across from Philly, Teena and looove Butterscotch Krimpets. So I just wanted to say hello to a fellow South Jersey girl!

Thank you all for such a wonderful thread, as well. I love reading through everything and it's so very informative!

Are you a Palmyra girl too?

Me too (PHS). My brother still lives in Riverton. And he owns the Park Tavern in Palmyra. I was weened on Takaboost. Do they still make it?

I haven't been to that Park Tavern yet since I turned 21 but I have a lot of friends who have gone. And yes, I love Boost! The big thing now is to drink Boost Slushies. I get one every Friday, but I still like to drink a regular Boost now and then :)

Boost has been around a long time. I have a picture of me drinking it from a bottle when I was about a year old and I'm retired now ... glad to hear it's still around. Can't say I miss South Jersey though except for your tomatoes, corn, Tastykakes and of course the Takaboost.

Oooh, outed!!! LOL Yep. Hope nobody holds it against me! LOL

So glad that it all worked out for the original poster. I knew it had to!

Can't say I blame ya!

Hi Everyone! Love this thread, it has such an amazing amount of information, and looking through the pictures gets me so excited for our upcoming trip.

I am looking for a little reassurance. We always stay at the BC for our WDW vacations. Sometimes we stay concierge level, not always. This year, we decided we needed more room and opted to rent a DVC owners points and have a 2br Villa booked. The more I look through the pictures of the villas and compare them to the rooms at the BC, I am afraid I am going to be a bit disappointed in the rooms. It seems like the BCV have no where near the same luxurious feeling as the BC rooms.

Someone, please tell me I am wrong, and that I will LOVE the BCV!!!

HI, we are scheduled to check in on May 25 around 10:00. If our room is not ready, would we still be able to use SAB?
