I don't mean to play devil's advocate as I am usually a "glass half full" type of person. I do respect everyone's positive comments about the BC/YC, you can truly tell that this is a great resort for as much love everyone has for it.
My problem I have with this whole situation is that a Deluxe Disney trip is very expensive, even for those who can afford it. Also, for many people it is a once a lifetime experience (or a few). I personally have been sending my son to swimming lessons for the past 3 months to ready him for the waterslide (so he can swim away on his own). Luckily we are going in May and hopefully everything is ok by then, but I just feel so bad for those who had plans during the refurb. I think that if parts were ordered, Disney knew about this and could have given people more advance notice. It's just a bummer with all of the other ride closures that are going on, and yes you can make the most out of any situation, but for the money you are paying, you want (and deserve) the best!
