Thanks SweetPee for your detailed review. We are checking in YC CL a week from saturday. Single digits - finally. Glad you had such a great trip.

I brought home one of those lovely Disney souvenirs that keeps on giving...a lovely head cold.

Our service at the Yachtsman itself was stellar but the steaks notsomuch. Definitely a let-down. Steaks weren't cut or cooked well. We didn't make a stink, tho, because it was our actual anniversary and we wanted to keep everything positive.

C'mon you know you purchased that head cold on the plane!

Our dinner at Yachtsman was a huge disappointment as well with the steaks lacking in alleged quality. Like you, we wanted to keep it positive and besides, who has time to sit and wait for this to be resolved when it will cause a person to miss the fireworks!

On the other hand we LOVED  Captain's Grille. We went for breakfast and lunch and if we had the time we would have gone for dinner.

Anyway I just received an email saying we have the use of the CL woohooo more food!

I'll be posting live while I'm there... I'll post on this thread if that's ok??? Let me know if thats ok or if I should be figuring out how to post on the Live Thread Board.. is there a live thread board?? I don't stray too far from this thread!! Feel at home here so I stay here!!

So excited and still in the Bronx!! Not for long though!!

~Nannette

Just think Nannette, you can decide on a whim whether you will be making the trot out to a restaurant or staying close to 'home' and nibbling fantastic food while taking it easy. It sounds very relaxing to me!

Oh and you better post those live updates on this thread! Post 'em where ever you want on the other boards but make sure you post 'em here too!! :thumbsup2

Sweetpea, thanks for the trip report and Nannette I wish you the best of luck with the weather and health and EVERYTHING!

Sorry, I skimmed thru this whole thing and didn't see room numbers for full balconies. Did I miss it? We have a Pool/Water view and I would LOVE to have a full balcony. I know it's not a gaurantee when requesting, but it's always worth a try. We had a 4th floor room the first year we were there and I'll be darn if I can find my notes on it to see what our room number was. Can anyone help me out with this? I thought for sure one year I read a thread that showed the pool view rooms/gv rooms, etc. TIA

I just might be able to mix business and pleasure next July and get a YC or BC stay out of it.

The 2012 College Board Annual Conference is at the Swan and Dolphin from 7/18-7/22. :teacher: I am going to apply to attend and see if my district will pay for me to stay at the YC or BC since it is a neighboring hotel. Even if I have to stay at the Swolphin I will be in WDW! :goodvibes woot!

The best part about it is that my principal approached me about attending. I don't know if my district will pay rack rate but I am going to give it a try.

So I just received an email from YC IPO... This isn't a surprise since our upcoming trip is at YC and has the services of IPO. I booked the Platinum plan GV... what this comes with is the IPO, turn down and all the food you could possible eat including Victoria and Alberts plus snacks, mugs, spa visits, Cirque, Fireworks Cruise most of the Disney tours plus the added wine plan. I did not book the CL because I didn't think we needed anymore food and was receiving all the other services of CL though I don't think I would be on the CL floor... I am paying an arm and a leg for this trip, but really wanted to do it and am happy I'm doing now that DD has moved. Anyway I just received an email saying we have the use of the CL woohooo more food! I'm excited about this why.... I have no idea! I feel that if you are paying the price I'm paying for the trip it should include the CL floor... maybe I'm a CL snob :rotfl2: Must be it!!! Ok well just needed to share :cool1:

Congrats on the CL!

Certainly, post away here! Glad you consider this home. :grouphug:

Can't wait to hear about all your neat plans!

I'm not aware of a resource that shows which room numbers have full balconies and which don't. Your best bet it to add "full balcony, please" as a request on your reservation. If you have other requests, like 4th floor, you can add that too, but you should make sure you prioritize your request. There is some advice on the first page- don't do the on-line checkin and ask when you get to the front desk whether your room has a full balcony. If not, ask if there is a room available that does.

There is a map out there, bczone or something like that, but the info on it is outdated.

Cool! Let us know if you are able to pull this off!

Thanks! Must have been a different thread when I was trying to decide on a resort.;)

Hello all! :goodvibes

My husband, daughter and I just booked the Yacht Club for Spring Break 2012. I know we are 6 months out but we are very excited and now just can't hardly wait. This will be the first time at this resort and have heard nothing but good things about it.

I was able to make all my dinning reservations earlier this week and got everything we wanted and at the times we wanted too!

I haven't been able to read all of your post yet, but I will slowly make my way through. I'm glad I found you, now I need to find my ticker...hummmm which one should I use...? :confused3

Hello everyone! We had such a great time at the BC in June that we are going back! I had booked us a Club level room when late October pass holder rates came out in the hopes that we would be able to get away for an adults only trip for food and wine and we decided this week it would work, we will be able to go! Airfare is booked now and I am so excited. We will be there from the 29th of October until November 6th

25 days til BEACH CLUB!!!! Suitcases come out of the attic this weekend. So I will spend the next couple weeks picking up essentials. The waiting is the hardest part!!!!!!

I leave tomorrow morning for the YC! I am so excited. Teena hopefully i'll be able to stop by on Sunday to meet you.:dance3:

Hi All: newbie to this thread...was just offered an upgrade from PORS to the YC for thanksgiving week. :cool1: I have heard about construction at the YC, can anyone comment on it's impact to the resort?

I was ready for construction at PORS but they seem to close one building or section at a time...YC might be different if you are in the middle of a construction area.

I was so excited...please tell me this won't really impact us. :confused3

Thanks! Must have been a different thread when I was trying to decide on a resort.;)

Hey, I was just reading a review of the BC at www.easywdw.com yesterday. Hopefully, this is what you are looking for.

Best Rooms: As you are probably aware, Disney charges more for “view upgrades,” like a lake or garden view instead of a parking lot view. The problem is that their definition of a “water view” is a view of any body of water, including a swimming pool or hot tub. I don’t know about you, but I don’t consider my condo in Las Vegas to have a “beautiful view of the water” because there’s a community swimming pool in the middle of it. Water View rooms can cost as much as $100 more per night. Since you won’t be able to guarantee what room you will be assigned until you check in at the resort, Water Views are in essence a $100+ per night gamble that you won’t be stuck on the second floor of the resort looking out at a kiddie pool. This is the primary reason why I rarely recommend paying to upgrade to a better view. You just don’t know what you’re going to get.

I bring this up now because the Beach Club offers a surprisingly few number of rooms with an actual view of Crescent Lake, considering the resort was built right on top of it. Of those rooms with a view, many either don’t have balconies or have an extremely small balcony. Paying $70+ per night to upgrade to a room with a view of a quiet pool and no balcony seems a little silly to me, so I wouldn’t recommend upgrading until you get to the resort and see what’s available. Remember, even if you know what rooms are the best and request them, you aren’t guaranteed to be put there.

The best rooms at the Beach Club, with full balcony and a lake view, are: 2641, 2643, 2645, 2647, 3501, 3503, 3505, 3507, 3509, 3511, 3683, 3685, 3687, 3689, 3691, 3725, 3737, 3729, 3731, 3733, 3735, 3777, 3739, 3741, 3743, 3745, 3747, 3749, 3751, 3753, 3755, 3757, 3759, 3761, 3763, 3765, 3767, 3769, 3771, 3773, 3775, 3777, 3779, 3781, 3783, 3785, 3787, 3789, 3791, 3793, 3795, 5607, 5609, 5611, 5613, 5615, 5617, 5619, 5621, 5623, 5683, 5685, 5687, 5689, 5691, 5725, 5737, 5729, 5731, 5733, 5735, 5777, 5739, 5741, 5743, 5745, 5747, 5749, 5751, 5753, 5755, 5757, 5759, 5761, 5763, 5765, 5767, 5769, 5771, 5773, 5775, 5777, 5779, 5781, 5783, 5785, 5787, 5789, 5791, 5793, 5795.

The first number is the floor number and the second three digit number is the room number. For example, room 5785 is room number 785 on floor five. Rooms on floor five are Concierge level and cost extra. When requesting a room, it’s best to request what you want, rather than specific room numbers. If upgrading to a Water or Pool View room, request a room with a full balcony that directly overlooks Crescent Lake at the time of booking and follow up with the resort directly about three days before you check-in.

3 weeks from today DH and I leave and head to the Beach Club!! I'm so excited. Dh won't be until we're on the plane, but I feel like i have enough excitement for both of us right now! lol :cool1:

Then Private dining is a mess at BC/YC because I saw way too many trays out for way too long at the BC during my 10 day stay there. We were on a fourth floor room all the way out by the Epcot side and we had to stroll the hallways all week. DS and I would comment on what the people had to eat and how long the tray would be there for.

Think people should start to take the dishes as souvenirs, then we'll see how long they fester out there!
~MM

OMG if there are trays left out in the hallways on my wedding day I will sooooo have a Bridezilla moment :bride::furious:

Good morning everyone :goodvibes Just checking in. It's been a crazy month since we've returned. Hard to believe we were leaving WDW Sept 1
My brother in law has been in Hospital with complications from back surgery. It's been a long road but can see the light now. Yesterday he was transferred to a rehab hospital where he'll get lots of physio now to get him back on his feet. So I haven't been online much.

Nanette have a great YC trip!

MM I agree! We loved our meal at Captains Grille. Unfortunatley, there was an extremely rude & demanding table our waitress had to deal with, they monopolized most of her time, but she handled it very well, and made sure another waiter came over to check in on us to see if we needed anything.

Haven't had time to get caught up yet, and have to start getting ready for work now

Almost at double digits for our WDW Jan trip. So far booked at POR- waiting for Jan. discounts to come out! Wish I could stay again at BC, but think this is going to be somewhat of a budget trip, however we will have to make our way over during an Epcot day to get our fix! And say hi to Teena :goodvibes
