I am wondering about the fact that the cruise they are having as a DVC cruise for 2011 is listed on the points chart under the Value season already. I know that won't be the actual points for that cruise but do they only have DVC members on this cruise?
This (hopefully) will be our first members cruise and will have LOTS of questions. :cloud9: I am assuming Disney will be pretty consistent with their past practices with these cruises? Probably will put it up to purchase in Nov or Dec? Will sell out pretty quickly? Even though it will be on their bigger Dream?
I plan and prepare too much, that is why I LOVE this board!:lovestruc

Only members can call to book the member cruise, but they can book staterooms for non-members. Non-members can also be in the same stateroom with a member.

In comparing the DCL point chart and the Member Cruise point chart for 2010, the member cruise is 40 to 50 points higher per person.

Sorry...I am a DVC member. Mainly my question is why is the cruise on the points chart if it is a DVC members only cruise or is it a DVC members only cruise?

They probably are just slow to update the point chart to remove that date. It took them a while to remove the date of the 2010 member cruise from the 2010 4-night DCL point chart.

What kinds of things happen on the Members only cruise? My husband and I just booked July 1 2011 on the Dream (my first cruise) and we were wondering what the difference was on the DVC Members cruise compared to a regular Disney cruise.

So if you booked that cruise now on points at the "discounted" listing, they would come back later and deduct extra points ?

I would like to know the same thing as Cheloconnell. Why do people seem to enjoy the SS Member Cruise so much?

So far the only thing I know about is they have special guests & characters and events. Along with some different dining and gifts for the members in their stateroom. But then this is all I got from member services. I am hoping some member cruise veterans will post some of the things that have happened in the past.

So the member cruise costs more (i.e. more points) than a regular cruise paid for with points?

Why would anybody pay more points for a cruise?

I think tips are included in the price. Plus DVC can charge whatever they want since they are contracting out the entire boat for a fee. They can in turn charge however many points or dollars they desire.

For the past two years (at least since these are the only ones I've been on), tips have been included in the price.
