I'm going down to California and get to spend Sunday (12/4) in Disneyland. I've read that it's one of the two days for the Candlelight Processional- but it is it worth going to? Because I only have one day there and if it takes up a bunch of time then I'll probably skip it. And who is the celebrity narrator!? I can't find this year's anywhere.

You won't be able to sit and watch the processional. The seats are for VIP's, "friends of friends" etc. You can stand around and listen from nearby but it's up to you if it's something that you feel is important to see or not?

Do you go to DL often? Is this a rare trip?

The celeb is rumored to be Gary Sinise this year.

And yes it will take up half your day, as there are people who get there in the AM and spend their entire day staking out their spots for the processional.

Yeah I've heard about that- so the view isn't very good? I might just stop by while passing in between Main Street or something like that because, yes, it is kind of a rare trip- I go maybe once every 2-4 years (however I'm moving to California next year yay!).

That's odd they haven't officially announced it yet. But aw dang I wish it was someone I was a fan of/knew who they were before just now looking him up (I've seen a few movies with him but don't watch his show CSI: NY or anything).

To be honest, I wouldn't go. I went to the parks last year just to go to "The Land", and it happened to be on a CP night. Based on the setup, as the PP mentioned, unless you really devoted a lot of your day to getting a spot, you won't really be able to see anything. I'd skip it, especially since you're not really a fan of the reader.

I agree.

It's not like there are free spots available up close. There are only the pathways to get in and out of the park open, and you are not supposed to stop on them. You likely have to view without waiting from down Mainstreet with a giant Chrismas Trees and other tree blocking the view.

As far as Gary Sinise, I wonder if it hasn't been announced, because it isn't true. Perhaps it's only a rumor that CMs taking part heard and spread around some more. We'll know the truth soon.

It was announced via email.

From the email:

This year’s Candlelight Narrator will be the award winning actor Gary Sinise. Mr. Sinise is an amazing actor with plenty of credits. He has been performing on “CSI: NY” for several years and has film credits including Forrest Gump and Apollo 13. In 2008, he was awarded the United States of America Presidential Citizens Medal (which was established in 1969 to recognize U.S. citizens who have performed exemplary deeds of service for the nation. The medal is bestowed by the President. The Presidential Citizens Medal is one of the highest honors the President can confer upon a civilian, second only to the Presidential Medal of Freedom.) for his work with the USO and Operation Iraqi Children.

We are honored to have Gary Sinise join us as our Candlelight Narrator on both Saturday and Sunday.
