2011 DISers Halloween Party Dates & Costumes List

My boyfriend and I both LOVE going to Disneyland, but this year will be the first time we are going in October. It sounds like its going to be tons of fun from reading the posts on here! I was just wondering which week would be the best for us since we have never been during halloween time? I really want to do as much as the stuff there as I can!

The Halloween season begins on Sept 16 & runs thru Halloween. The Mickey Halloween Party (with trick-or-treating, special fireworks, calvacade, etc) starts on Sept 30 & then Mon, Oct 3, then every Fri & Tues until Halloween night (which will be on Monday).

Any time in October will get you everything available during this season.

I have made up my mind about the costumes. On September 30th, I will go as a Princess. On our Transatlantic cruise last year, they offered Bibbidi Bobbidi boutique and I loved having my make over. So I decided that I would treat myself to this in the afternoon before the party. I will have an annual pass so I can use this to get into the park earlier in the day. I am going with a pink tea length dress and hopefully custom shoes from Etsy. I can also wear this minus accessories for semi-formal night on one of my cruises. I was a bit torn about the colour as I kind of fancied either baby blue or lilac, but we do a Pink Halloween dress down day for a cancer charity every year and I can wear the costume again for this.

On October 11th, I will wear my pirate costume. I was in the process of putting together a new pirate costume anyway so this will get a second outing during this vacation. I got the dress and just need to get the accessories for this.

This will be my first time at the Halloween Party at Disneyland. I have previously been to MNSSHP at WDW. At WDW, it was possible to pick up the wristbands inside the park. Will this be possible at Disneyland, too? On one of the days that I will go to the party, I will already be in the park by the time they let in people with park tickets and I would really like to avoid having to leave and come back. On the other day, this won’t be a problem as I will be going with DH, who will only have the party ticket so we will have to wait until he can get in at 3 PM.

Dates set! Fri. Oct 21 (party) through Monday Oct 24.

Costumes still up in the air, but I think DH is leaning towards Imperial Officer (one of the bad guys in Star Wars).

silly question, i am arriving in Anaheim on the 25/10. I know there is the halloween party that nite. would it best to attend that party or wait and go on the 28/10 or 31/10. will the 31/10 sell out.

how quickly do these parties sell out.

thanks

The parties closer to Halloween are more apt to sell out than other dates. So long as you've got your tickets before the end of Sept I think that you should be safe, but it couldn't hurt to get your tickets, if you've already decided more or less on the dates when they go on sale to the general public in July. You've got some time to think about it before the tickets go on sale in July.

I am very excited to be going to the Halloween Party on Oct. 11. I will be in DL for the very first time, although I am a WDW veteran of several trips. I have a biology teacher's conference right down the road at the Anaheim Marriott for the later part of the week, so will be flying in on Sunday Oct. 9 so I can play first! I will have the 10th, 11th, and 12th at the parks all day, and then in the afternoon on the 15th. I do historic dancing so will possibly wear a Regency era dress for a costume. I can't wait to experience Disneyland in general, and the party in particular. I normally go to WDW in the summer because of my grandchildren being out of school, so have not seen the MNSSHP either.

We are going to the party on Oct 3rd...do the parties usually sell out quickly? I keep having visions of not being able to get through and it selling out before I can buy tickets, lol. I'm soooo excited I'm pretty much hyperventilating as I type:rotfl: This is our first trip to Disneyland during the Halloween season..can't wait for it to get here!!!!

So long as you purchase your ticket by mid Sept you should be fine. The tickets go on sale to the general public on July 1st, so you've got 2 months to get your tickets. The MHP is tons of fun, and will be there on a surprise trip to DL and attending the MHP on Sept 30th. Make sure to bring a backpack with another bag inside of it. The TOT bags are tiny, and get filled fast. So it's alot easier to dump the candy into the backpack as the evening progresses and you get ALOT more candy this way. I was at the MHP on Oct 5th and 8th last year, and by using this tip I got off the boards ended up with 20lbs of candy. Have a great trip!

We are going the 24 -29th. We are going to the ToTP on the 25th! (I think that's the date for the Tuesday party) We are two families traveling together so their will be a total of 7 little girls ages 9-10 months! I think we are going to make them fairy costumes and have them all be fairies! I AM SO EXCITED!!! :goodvibes

Hello everyone. I have started to add names of those going to Mickey's Halloween Party to the first post. I have decided to add the names of those that have their bought tickets. So, once you have bought your tickets, I'll add your name and costumes, if any, to the list under the date of your ticket.

I am still going through the thread and will be adding more names. If I have missed you, please post again and I will be happy to add you to the list.

126 days until the first MHP!

californiamomof4grls, would you like me to add you to the October Check in thread? I have a list of other DIS'ers planning a trip to DL in October. Here is the link to the October 2011...Who's all going? Vacation dates and lodging.

Another hyperventilating longtime lurker here - we have finally decided we are coming to DL for Halloween for the first time ever!
We don't have our air tickets yet (DH works for an airline so we get a great deal but we have to book at the last moment) so we don't even know our exact dates, but it will be around the weekend of Oct 21 as that is a holiday weekend here. Hopefully we will be at Hojos which we loved last time we visited in 2009.
Our sons (8 and 11) are big fans of anything spooky - Halloween is not really celebrated in New Zealand but they know all about it and are very excited about MHP - as am I!
Have no idea what costumes we will wear - is everyone at the MHP in costume?
And are they mostly Disney characters?
I have a million questions but will read the entire thread before asking! - just wanted to check in and say Hi!

Hello, Saskiwi. Welcome to the 2011 Halloween Party dates thread. I can answer a few of your questions. Not everyone is dress in a costume for MHP. I fr one wear just a MHP t-shirt from a previous party. Sometimes you will see very elaborate costumes on some party goers, too. Not all of them are Disney costumes, either. Just as long as the costume chosen is within Disney's guidelines, it will be acceptable. It is really up to you to dress up or not.

I would suggest you go to the Halloween Superthread to get more information than this thread has. You can go to the first post to find a table of contents and look for any links to MHP. Here is the link for this superthread.

If you wish to add your name to the list of those traveling to DLR in October you can go to the October Check In thread here: October 2011 Anyone going?

Hope that can help you along.
