I recently heard about some changes to the disney dining plan. rumor has it that they are taking off all included deserts on the plan. what i wasn't told was if it was going up in price. my guess is they will raise the price even though they take the desert away. it also includes the delux plan that will loose the deserts no plan is immune. now mind you this is just simply rumor at this point so please don't flame me for being wrong.

I hope that this isn't true!! It probably is though.....

When we first started getting the regular dining plan appetizers and tips/tax were all included. To me it wasn't a big deal that they took apps away cause you already get a ton of food, but they did raise the price.

Let's just hope this is a rumor!

There's a whole thread in the dining plan subforum about rumored changes.

As it stands right now, it looks like desserts may be removed from QS meals and mugs may be removed from the QS plan. That's all I can remember off the top of my head.

Again, it's rumored based off of the brochures that were sent out to British travel agents a couple months ago. It could be very wrong (in a similar manner to how when Disney releases the dining plan for the next year, several restaurants aren't included yet as they haven't officially signed on for in. This sparks much concern for people thinking their favorites are no longer part, but in the end, they usually do sign on for another year).

The one chang that i know for sure is going to happen is that starting in oct. lecellar is going to a signiture dining. i have heard people say that it would have to get alot better then what it was to go to signiture but when we were there in may we had some excellent food. and i did ask them while we where there and they said that indeed they where going to signiture dining.

I usually do the Deluxe plan and I hope this isn't true. I would rather lose the app and keep the dessert. We don't need 2 apps with each meal but the dessert is often my favorite part of the meal.

Found the thread that Cafeen referenced about the 2011 Dining Plan Changes Discussion. It's long, but it quotes a lot of the brochures that are generating these rumors. It does sound like CS desserts and mugs on the QSDP are on the chopping block for all dining plans.

LeCellier is still in the rumor stages too. Recent (additional) confirmation from CMs that there is going to be a change for it in January 2011, but no official word from Disney yet. You can find that discussion on This Thread on the News and Rumors board. (The latest theory is that any changes to LeCellier will be announced late this summer when the Dining Plans are announced)

I hope it's just a rumor also.

I hope Disney realizes this may stop a lot of people from purchasing the dining plans. Nobody will be mad if they don't change them and keep them the way they are this year.

I booked Le Cellier today for my January vacation and it reflects 1 TS as of now. I plan to take that confirmation with me. :)

I hope it helps you out if they do change. My reservation confirmation for LeCellier indicated that the dining plan info was for 2010 (even though I was reserving into 2011) Does yours look like this? (ARGH! The formatting was perfect before I hit reply - sorry about this)

Disney Dining Plans Table-Service Meals Redeemed Per Person
.............................................2010
...................................... Breakfast Lunch Dinner
Quick Service Dining Plan.......................
Dining Plan ....................................1.......1
Deluxe Dining Plan...........................1.......1
Premium Dining Plan.........................1.......1
Platinum Dining Plan.........................1.......1

Yes, it sure does. :) And then I called WDW dine twice and both CMs told me to take my confirmation with me so that I can use 1 TS credit instead of 2 if there is a change. Of course, I know they cannot ensure that it will be honoured, but I will still give it a go. :)

It doesn't hurt to try. The worst that they can do is say no, and it's possible that they might honor it for you.

It annoys me that ADRs are open through the new year long before the plans are announced. To us uber-planners, it's a big deal that there is such a gap in information.

It is a big deal. :thumbsup2 There are no park hours out, no EMH schedules and no 2011 information available, but DVC has my money and my reservation. :upsidedow

agree that it won't hurt to take your confirmation along showing 1 TS credit, BUT if you read the fine print when you book the reservation you'll see they've covered every possible contingency, including reserving the right to change anything & everything from the menu to the prices, etc. You may get pixie dust, but I wouldn't count on it. I would guess if it goes signature, that'll be all she wrote...

They will probably call people who have reservations & offer the option of switching reservations like they do now when they over-book or park hours are cut.

I agree. :goodvibes But if I do not recieve an email or phone call, I am not too shy to politely ask.

They have posted the EMH for 2011 as well as all the park hours....

If they change to two TS officially for January, I honestly think that will do you no good. You will have plenty of notice when the schedules and prices come out in August. (Le Cellier being a Disney -owned restaurant you will likely see the change reflected in the very first 2011 DDP brochure printing)

I agree. I just wonder if Disney would contact you directly?

They have? Where do I find those? That would help me so much for our May '11 trip!

Just January 2011...they release the hours about 6 months ahead of time, so wouldn't expect May 2011 until November 2010.
