Can someone here give me step by step instructions for posting pics?? sorry, it's almost impossible to teach this old dog new tricks!!!
I have been meaning to do this, so since you asked... here is what I do.
Set up an account in Photobucket or another similar site (smug mug). You can get a free account, but I had to update to a PRO Photobucket account after I took over the FAQ thread.
One you have set up an account, you can UPLOAD pictures to your album(s) You can upload to your main account (ocalla's photos, for example) or you can make various albums and subalbums:
For example: Disney Vacation 2011 (album)
Beach Club photos (subalbum)
UPLOADing the pictures is pretty easy- click upload and it will prompt you to browse the pictures you want- you go into the location on your computer where you are storing the pictures. To select multiple photos, I use the shift key (if the pictures are contiguous) or control key (if the pictures I want have ones I don't want in between).
After you upload, you will be prompted to "Save Photos and Return to album"
When you are in the album containing your photo, if you hover your cursor over the picture, it will give you several options, like MOVE, EDIT, SHARE.
You want to click on SHARE
Then go to GET LINK CODE
You want to use the option that says:
IMG for bulletin boards & forums. There will be a check box, then a box containing some gobbeldy-gook and it says Full Size next to it.
I double click to highlight the gobbled-gook, then right mouse-click to copy. This gives me the location address for the photo that can be used to insert the picture into my post on the DIS.
Paste the gobbeldy-gook into your post. (You can preview your post to see if it worked)
The gobbeldy-gook looks something like this:
http://i657.photobucket.com/albums/uu294/accountname/picturename.jpg
note- you will actually see brackets [, instead of braces< but the words won't show up if I use [] around the IMG.
One more note: I think these instructions will copy full sized photos. I have set my account to always copy Large Size, 360 x 480.
If we get you to the point of posting a photo, we can go back and do this last step.
Anyone who follows these instructions, or has better info, post here. I will add the info, along with the Double Quote tutorial, onto page 1 somehow.
