Marlton Mom, you are such a sweetheart to write such a thoughtful post to me about the scooters. The really HUGE problem for me is the heat and humidity in Florida that time of year. Even if I were riding, the heat would still be really bad for me. I have considered getting a one-day pass for Epcot, and going over there for awhile in the early a.m. and later p.m., and might possibly rent a scooter for that, but then I ask myself, would I enjoy it enough to warrant paying for the scooter and a ticket just for those few hours?

I don't mind being in a beautiful resort, going out to the pool possibly early and late for awhile, reading, etc. In the afternoon, my family will come back, and we will eat lunch, play games, etc. Thank you so much for your concern.

Oh, BTW, if I have a Lake View, will I be looking at Stormalong Bay??? The mention of lobster at the Captain's Grille totally has my attention, by the way!!! I'll be there!!! :cool1: What's the faves at Beaches & Cream? My guys will LOVE that! Oh, and do I need a FULL BALCONY? Anyone ... have you used yours a lot if you had one?

Beaches & Cream is known for having the best hamburgers at WDW!

Agreed! Everyone in our family loves those burgers - and that's saying a lot because we all have very different tastes! And when we arrive at B&C at 11am opening for an early lunch, it's entirely uncrowded with no wait, which is even better. :)

Elsiemoo, regarding your other question, I do love the full balcony and we use it quite a bit in the summer. With five in a room, it's nice to have the extra space. I actually find it too cold inside in the summer (the air conditioning is up high in the resorts), so I often step out on the balcony to warm up. If you have difficulty with the heat, the balcony might be best in the early morning and the evening.

Bumping this question up.

Anyone know the answer? TIA.

Okay trying to remember. I believe it is the first row right across from the bus stop is HC parking. There's a cross walk there from the sidewalk that borders the parking to the side walk that goes over the canal and has a covered walk way along the BC's circle drive. It's not REAL close but it is a nice area to walk across.

I'm not absolutely sure but that's what I remember.

Pixarmom - you really are my twin sister!

We do the same thing - 11 AM lunch on the 1st day as soon as Beaches and Cream opens up. We totally agree with Teena - you can't beat B&C burgers!

We love being one of (if not the) first families that walk into B&C at 11am. The CM's look at you and knowin'They just got here.' Our smiles just give us away.

I have this posted on the first page (in the first post even). It is not the quickest way to return to the Beach Club, but we like this much better than taking the return bus, which makes way too many stops and is filled with way too many people who have had way too much to drink:

Alternatively, a taxi back to the BC would probably be around $20. I would consider that, too!

I did read that, and thanks for the information and all your work. From your post it sounded like there was an easier/faster way.

How long does it take to walk through the front entrance of EPCOT to get to BC?
thanks again

You will love YC. I am much more a YC person than a BC person. My DD has been staying there since she was been 10 and this will be our 4th summer there but are staying BC due to the availability...and I am nervous!!!!! Even DD13 raised an eyebrow when I told her BC CL this year instead of YC CL....same great place just different vibe....

Hi. I just noticed your ticker. How fabulous that you won a Disney vacation. Please tell me the story. Sorry if you've told it before on this thread. I must have missed it. If you don't mind, please tell it again. Congratulations!!!:yay::yay::yay:

Sorry to be misleading. Not faster. Funner.

I don't think my DH would be willing to go back to DTD if we didn't use this method on the way back. He was skeptical when I suggested it and now he is a total believer.

I'm not sure I can tell you how long it takes to do the walk from the EP entrance to the BC because we never do it without a stop or stops: Spaceship Earth, Livin' with the Land, Soarin' if we have FP, Club Cool...

My guesstimate- 25 to 30 minutes EP entrance to BC entrance. Does that sound right folks?

I must be the evil step-sister! I have never gone for burgers at Beaches and Cream *ducks as a whole can of whipped cream is thrown*

The only time I have been there was for the trial breakfast that was added for a milisecond and then unfortunately taken away (yes, I wrote a letter)

Well we (or should I say DH) decided on 1900 Park Fare for our last day Character Breakfast. I really wanted to do Cape May, it would be much easier, but since DH really never picks ANYTHING when it comes to our Disney Trips.....It was the least I could do.

With that said, our reservation is for 9:00. we need to pack up, check our luggage, get our boarding passes for our late evening flights AND get to Grand Floridian for 9:00!!! How long does it usually take to get to GF from BC???

I must be the other evil step sister then because we have no intention of going to B&C.

I have a good reason, though! As much as I'd love to go there, our 4 year old has peanut and tree nut allergies and I just don't feel comfortable taking him somewhere where there could be a lot of loose nuts, etc. around.

Which reminds me . . . Pixarmom, last year I posted on your BC Marketplace photos thread that they sell allergen-free snacks in a basket by the cashier (we've never stayed there, but we visited) and you were kind enough to take pictures your next trip for the thread. I've read on the Disabilities Board that they've changed the products recently (changed companies -- they no longer carry Divvies or French Meadow). When you go on your next trip (around April, right?), would you mind taking some photos of what they carry now? I would greatly appreciate it! :flower3:

Well I have no transportation advice but we too do a late evening flight and I always ask for extended checkout at 1 pm. I think it is kind of crazy to force yourself out of a room at 9 am and have a long day ahead of you until a late flight. Maybe keep checking back for the last breakfast seating possible? 11 am? To save your sanity that morning if you stick with 9 consider a 12 minute cab ride instead of a bus situation.....

I think it's hard to get to B&C at that ideal time, so I like Robyn and Mickey T's idea for arrival day. That's how we're able to get to lunch at Hurricane Hanna's and Kona, too - arrival day! The other reason we're able to get to Hurricane Hanna's and B&C for lunch is that we've been doing more non-parks time at Disney - either on the way to the airport from parents' condo at beach or pre-cruise/post-cruise. When we received the notice in our room before our cruise last August, we were initially a little disappointed that the DCL bus was arriving at 12:45pm. Until we realized that would fit perfectly with an 11am lunch at B&C!

Happy to do it! Yes, our dates are April 10-14. POFQ first, then YC (might increase that YC time if they let up on the discount restrictions, but I won't hold my breath!) Please let me know if you have any other questions that you would like for me to investigate - I'm happy to ask CMs in addition to taking photos. :)

Could any of you who have teens tell me what their FAVORITE things are in the various parks? My 14 yr. old DGD was there when she was so young she doesn't remember it ... but is a Disney movie lover, loves the water, is very good at science & math, well-rounded. Just wondering what attractions/restaurants your teen/tweens love? Thank you so much ... you are all incredibly helpful! :)

3 weeks from today that is my exact plan! We get into MCO around 10am, plan to head over to BCV, check in, leave our luggage with Bell Services, and hit B&C!! Woo hoo!

I think a lot of teens/tweens love DHS and Epcot - at least mine do!! My oldest, almost 13 - loves DHS! He loves thrill rides and his favorites are RNRC & TOT, and he just loves the atmosphere of the whole park. Epcot is great for that age as well - there's TT and Soarin and they will love WS if they are into geography and learning about other cultures and there are lots of fun math & science things at Innovations in FW.

And pool slides!! My kids LOVE a good pool slide. They will finally be getting to try the slide at SAB this spring!! :cool1:

My son is 14 and loves space mountain, rockin rollercoaster, tower of terror and everest. He is a Disney fanatic thanks to me so he enjoys almost everything from Peter pan to the safari and all things in between! HIs favorite show to see while there is fantasmic. Which I agree is awesome! He is not a picky eater and will try new things. For our upcoming trip is restaurant choice was artist point. he really liked it the last time he went. He also likes the sci fye drive in and the 50s prime time cafe. Boma is a good choice too.

Lots of people think there's not much for teens at Disney or think their teenager wouldn't like many things there. That is so NOT true. There are so many rides my DS14 loves! he is not a huge thrill rider but LOVES space Mtn. , BTMRR, Hauted Mansion, Spaceship Earth, Peter Pan, Soarin, Test track, Mission Space, Star tours, POTC, Toy Story mania. So as you can see Peter Pan is not what you'd call a ride for teens but he still loves it.
He also likes the safari. He likes the countries in WS too.

My DD14 loves EVERYTHING there is to do. From spinning in the teacups, to a boatride in Its a small world, to rock N roller coaster. she loves ALL of the parks, including shopping through EPCOT (probably hew fav thing to do each evening).

She still loves all the shows including Little mermaid and beauty and the beast, and if the line weren't so long, she would even climb aboard Dumbo.

One minute She loves riding on Peter Pan..................and then in the next minute she eyeing the waiters at Via Napoli!!!!!
