Hello All....sorry haven't been on lately, so much going on with work, holidays, shopping and preparing, and my daughter finally made it home from college- yeah! I am so happy she's home to share the holidays with us before going back to her last and final semester before she graduates May 5th.

We finally made our ADR on the 20th and here's the rundown... let me know what you all think. We are on the Deluxe dining plan as we really wanted to try more of the signature restaurants this trip.

Day1- Coral Reef for lunch
Rose and crown - dinner
Day 2- Breakfast- kona cafe
lunch- crystal palace
dinner- tonys touwn square
day3 -dinner- cinderellas royal table for our girls
dinner- narcosee - hubby and i
day4-tusker house donalds breakfast safari
lunch- yak and yetti
dinner- spirit of aloha- level 2 seating
day5- breakfast- chef micekys
lunch-prime time cafe
dinner- artist point
day6- 1900 park fare- breakfast
dinner-yachtmans steakhouse
day7- breakfast- ohana's
lunch- liberty tree tavern
dinner- ohana's
day 8-breakfast- cape may cafe

thats it for now....we will be heading to universal the morning of day 8 for a week there. We are so excited!! our first ever trip to the BC and hoping for just a magical time.

Merry Christmas to everyone and to those traveling be safe and enjoy and savor the times with your family and loved ones. They are precious indeed.

That's alot of eating and traveling around to eat. I personally think the deluxe dining plan is way too much food unless you use it for a nice big sit down breakfast every day and then a "signature restaurant (takes two credits)" for dinner. You have some fantastic choices there but you're missing most of my favorites: Brown Derby, Cape May for dinner and Teppen Edo.

Have a fantastic holiday!!!

I'm working my part-time job today, so I have had time to get all caught up on the thread! Loved the live reports and pictures from Heather and MickeyT! Loved the new pictures of Princess Lily! Loved all the great comments from Marlton Mom--my co-workers wonder about my outbursts of laughter! :lmao:

We're traveling to NC next week to spend some time with my family and DS4 keeps asking when we're going to Disney....we've always driven and always stop at my Mom's house for a couple of days on the way down. Luckily, he wasn't too mad about my trip a couple of weeks ago! ;) He's making lots of plans for our next family trip that involve riding Soarin' without his big sister-- he's sending her and DH off to ride roller coasters, and making lots of trips down the big slide at SAB! :)

Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and gets to spend time with those that you love the most! And for all of those lucky enough to spend it at BC/YC, have a fantastic vacation!

Merry Christmas! :santa:

Thanks Teena...and I do agree, it is alot of eating but there are most days where we are only eating 1 or 2 meals. Only 3 or 4 days out of 8 that we have 3 meals planned. We may change things still not completely set in stone. Our girls will be eating at Tappen Edo first night while we are at Rose and Crown....my daughter loves sushi. We've been to Cape may for dinner several times so we wanted to try something else. Brown Derby is ok..was there once and not impressed. Still a work in progress but happy with what we have. Thanks for the input.

Teena:

My family is also planning to do the DxDP. I want us to really live it up this trip and have a 2 credit meal planned every day of our trip. I think there's something to be said for having a nice meal at least once a day when you're on vacation. It's not for everyone but it breaks up the craziness sometimes!

I'm going to be posting my list soon (nearly as extensive) I wonder if you'd critique it for me?

Love to and I totally agree about sitting down and having a nice peaceful meal!! And I think that's so smart to use the deluxe dining plan with 2 credit meals planned. Live it up!! Try to keep your running around to eat to a minimum or it becomes a chore. Once you decide where you plan to go each day, then plan meals nearby so you don't waste time running around ... for example ... from the Beach Club over to the Poly for breakfast and then over to Animal Kingdom for the day and then leave Animal Kingdom for a dinner at Canada. Instead, let's say you are planning a day at Magic Kingdom. That day you might want to schedule a nice character breakfast at the Crystal Palace or an early breakfast before the park opens at Kona Cafe or the Grand Floridian Cafe and then plan dinner at Narcoossee's or Citrico's or Hoop Dee Do (all 2ers and a short boat ride away from Magic Kingdom).

I like some of the character breakfasts .. so much fun ... but personally find you get a nicer breakfast (food wise) at places like the Grand Floridian Cafe, Captain's Grill, Cat Cora's, The Wave, Kona Cafe, etc. I think character breakfasts are fun once in a while but I personally like ordering off the menu for a nice breakfast. We love the steak & eggs at the Grand Floridian Cafe and Kona Cafe!! But if you have young kids and you want lots of character buffets, then for sure plan them. The only one that I stay away from (JUST MY OPINION) is Chef Mickey's. That place gives me a headache with all the kids running around unsupervised, grabbing food unsupervised with their hands, ... some of the stuff I've seen there makes me ill just thinking about it. The problem (AGAIN -- IN MY OPINION) at Chef Mickey's is that it is so popular and too large, so they have a hard time keeping it civilized and there just aren't enough CMs to keep watch on the food all the time. I've seen kids there grab a spoon of something, lick the spoon after putting food on their plate and then stick the spoon back into the serving dish. The other character buffets seem smaller and more civilized and I think therefore easier to keep an eye on the children that run around unsupervised. I know personally I'd never let my child go up there by herself but there are so many unsupervised kids there (at least when I was there the last two times) that I said I'll never go there again. Bob almost fell over when a kid ran into him when he was walking back to our table with a plate of food. It was an absolute zoo every time we were there. Too many other good choices for me to ever try that nightmare again! So Princess Lily will not be experiencing Chef Mickey's with her Nanny and Pop-Pop!!! We love Lilo & Stitch's breakfast and of course the one at Cape May and what's not to love about Pooh and Friends at the Crystal Palace. We plan early lunches at the Crystal Palace rather than breakfast and just grab a muffin to hold us over until breakfast. We love the lunch and dinner there compared to the breakfast buffet. And somehow they keep that place more civilized (at least when we've been there and we do seem to have lunch there alot).

Have fun planning!!! Everybody here will help you!!!!

Fabulous photos!!! What kind of camera did you use? I'm in the market for a new one before our next trip.

My first 'big boy' camera. A Canon 60D. Still very much learning how to use it.

Nice! I was leaning towards Canon. My Dad was a photographer for many years and he gave me his old cameras and equipment. Told me to sell them and use the $$ towards a new digital camera. His camera of choice was always Canon too, so I'll definitely have to check it out.

Mike - those are some of the most beautiful pictures I've seen.
Thanks so much for posting them.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Years to all my BC/YC Disser friends! Here's to a better new year!!!!

Great photos Mike!! I love the whole Y/B Club resort area around the holidays so beautiful!!
