Pixarmom- thanks for zooming in on the booze prices. I'll add that to the Marketplace thread, along with the price adjustments Mike found.

No problem! Now I just need to update those photos. I saw a couple missions a page back or so and I wish I'd be there soon enough to cover them!

I did get a little more time during our "on the way to the airport" visit in April, so I might be able to swing by BC then, but not sure. Southwest prices dropped significantly for our return date, allowing me to grab 1) a non-stop flight; 2) with no change fees; 3) that leaves 6.5 hours later on the same day; and 4) saves us $60! So now that means two park days instead of one. Just did the math on that, along with our 2013 trip plans, and we're now to the point where APs make sense again. Looking forward to all the TIW discounts and AP rates! I know there's quite a bit of Southwest Airlines love on this thread - and I'm pretty happy with them too - thanks Southwest!

If it wasn't for Southwest, I'd never get to see Jeanne and Princess Lily as much as I do!!! I love that airline!

Crazy fun last full day. Made it to Hollywood Studios for rope drop . (SIDEBAR: Another Disney downer from this trip. May have read it here earlier but seeing it in person and it hit home. No rope drop show at HS (or AK). I really loved these and it did add a little extra for being there early and eager. Disney’s new approach. Get some guy up there on a microphone telling us not to run and have a good time. Geesh. I heard that in elementary school.)

Anyway a dear family from our home town that may be as Disney crazy as we are met up with us at rope drop and held a place close to the front for us. We felt a little funny but they insisted that we were like family to them and there was no way they could leave their family back there. So we did our rope drop rides together. Hit TSMM and grabbed FP’s for later. Same deal with RocknRollercoaster and Tower of Terror. Went and ate at Backlot Express. Lot of food. Stopped at Writers Stop. Carrot Cake cookie Heaven! Real crowded with this being EMH evening and the last MVMCP going on over at the MK.

We had planned to take DGS to AK for the evening but he opted to stay with our friends at the park. They are younger than us and it is normal procedure for them to open and close the same park. No break. They usually come this time a year so heat is not a factor and they don’t look for pool time. So DW and I visited with Teena and hit EPCOT and the new Japanese CS restaurant for an early supper. Took the boat back over to HS to meet up with DGS and our friends. We did Osborne Lights and enjoyed Great Movie Ride. Love Osborne Lights. A little chill in the air went along perfect with this. We hit Tower of Terror one more time with GS after saying our goodbyes to our friends. They were doing Fantasmic and we slid in a ‘thanks but no thanks’. Not with that crowd. Let DGS do a single line RnRC single and just sat back and watch the Fantasmic crowd pour in. Amazing. We did see Illuminations from the Boardwalk bridge and enjoyed.

Today is our travel day. We live @ 7hrs from WDW. Sometimes we just travel. Sometimes we do a park and travel. Well this being a short trip we decided to do an early morning park and travel. Well looking at the schedule I found and interesting tidbit. AK opened at 8 with and EMH morning. AK at 7am sounded inviting so we decided to go for it. We packed up most of our stuff when we got back from HS and even went ahead and took a few bags on down to the car. Up at 6 ( 5 for me) pack the rest of our stuff in the car and off to AK. We didn’t make the 7am rope drop but were on EE before 7:20. Rode twice and got FP’s. On to the Safari's and an early morning feeding. As you may expect on and early cool morning the animals were frisky and abundant. Great ride. After walking and redeeming FP’s for EE DW and DGS hit Dinosaur for their grand finale’. I wimp out on Dinosaur.

We hit DTD for some last minute gifts and lunch. First time at Wolfgang Puck’s Express. Good combination between sit down and counter service. Food was not your usual CS stuff. Had a little edge to it. Pretty good.

All done and made it home with no problems. Boy is my bed is calling me!

Welcome back Mike! Santa Claus says just be up in time for Christmas! :santa:

Mike ... it was fantastic seeing and talking with you!!! Have a super holiday and then hurry on back!!!

Mike- AK at 7AM sounds fun! Love it! 28 more days for us till WL :goodvibes:goodvibes

Mike- Glad you made it home safe and sound! Thanks for sharing you trip with us- sounds like you had a decent vacation. What a great day Sunday at HS, and meeting with Teena and hopping to EPCOT for some dinner. Early morning at AK is the way to go, too- not crowded or too hot.

Do you have to work today or do you get a day of rest?

One day of "rest" and then back to work. Like the rest of us, a return from vacation always renders a full plate :goodvibes !

Mike, great trip report! I bet AK at 7am was amazing. I don't know if I could do it though! We liked Dinosaur on our last trip but have never been able to get the nerve to try Tower of Terror at DHS or EE at AK. I think we will give EE a try this time. DH and DS don't want to go backwards though. I don't want to be dropped so TOT is out for me!

Rope drop at Epcot is gone now too, right?

Has anyone tried the Albatross Treasure Cruise for their child? I am considering seeing if there is any space left when we are there. The only thing is that Nathan would be by himself. That worries him but he always makes friends easily so I think it would be okay. Trying to see if this is worth a try or not. He will be turning 8 on our trip if that helps at all. Sounds like they make several stops which may make it fun.

My kids have never done this, but I do have a link to a review someone posted on DIS:

Beach Club Albatross- Pirates Cruise- Review http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=39868546&postcount=1

I believe DrMomof3(Amanda), who checks in on this thread frequently, sent a couple of her kids on this and has info in one of her trip reports. Maybe August 2010?

ETA: Pages 13 and 14 of Amanada's BCV report have a little info on the cruise. Here is page 13: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2539116&highlight=albatross&page=13

I think we're going with Yacht Club. I've been back and forth on this decision so much and who knows, I might change my mind again. It was always Beach or Yacht, but I keep changing my mind. And since we're not booking until after the holidays, there is still time for me to change my mind. Who knows!!

We are pretty set on our dates too - last week of October, right over Halloween. Can't wait - although I don't want to rush the summer either. Winter can fly by however. LOL
