Slow thread this weekend!! I'm laying on the couch with a broken foot looking for something to read!!! MM your posts on my FB are killing me... You are keeping me laughing! For those who don't know.. I fell Thursday and broke my 5th Metatarsal (apparently my soccer career is over :rotfl2:). I'm in a splint with crutches not allowed to put weight on the foot at all. I am following these directions very close... trying to avoid the surgery that I have a feeling will be happening, but we will see when I go to the follow up appointment on Wednesday. In the mean time I am being very thankful that this happened AFTER my vacation to Disney, and I'm dreaming about the upcoming vacation to Disney (which I will need if I have to have surgery).

Heather hope you have a super time at BC and Your home resort!!! Happy Birthday to Joeseph!!

~Nannette
also a shameless way to look at my ticker :cool1::dance3:

So Sorry Nannette,
I completely missed your foot post. Isn't funny we always relate our aches and pains to our Disney trips. I just got a walking cast off my foot from a minor break back in early October. One of my questions to the Drs was about being healed in time for my Dec trip! Hope all your healing and any necessary surgery goes well!

:earsboy: If you need any questions answered just let me know. Might not be able to answer but I’ll try and find someone that can. Just let me know if you need anything .

Hi Mike- I still don't have a copy of the December activities schedule for the front page. Any chance you could actually mail one to me while you are there (ONLY IF IT IS NOT TOO MUCH TROUBLE...)

Do you need me to email my address to you?

Thanks!!!

Dee

I have to say we are having a similar reaction in our home to the tree. Our 4 month old indoor kitties think the tree is the

Best. Cat Toy. EVER!!!

.

PS Charge your camera battery while you are sleeping and be sure to take a picture of your room before you leave for the parks to make sure all the parts are back in the camera.

Love the advice MM. I will be printing and taking a copy with me. Love the take a picture of the room advice.

Got it. DW and I love doing 'missions' for our DIS friends. You all have helped us so much.

Through the eyes of a child!

Marlton Mom- thanks so much for sharing your photography tips. Even thought the only part my point and shoot and I understood was the "Charge your battery overnight and take a picture of your room before you leave"

Do you mind me asking what sort of camera you use? I'm not ready for a "big girl camera" yet either:rotfl: I love your photos though:thumbsup2

Thanks!!!

I have a Canon Powershot D10 (12.1 Megapixels). Takes videos, too.

The main reason I chose this camera is that it is waterproof to 10 meters (33 feet), so I can use it to take pictures while snorkeling or on water rides at the theme parks. It is great at the beach and I will put it through the paces at the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas in April.

When I am on vacation, the thing never leaves my wrist! I love that I don't have to worry about it being stolen since I don't have to leave it behind in a beach bag when I go into the water.

The disadvantages are that it is a little bulkier than I would like- it doesn't fit comfortably into my pocket, and swimming with it is a little awkward. I have a floating wrist strap in case I drop it.

well, DD20 and friends are at Animal Kingdom as I type this!!! they checked into Pop Century last night (mom wasn't putting her up at BC ;) for this trip) they are having a blast!!! I am so jealous. Wish I were there also.

If any of you guys heading there see 6 LSU college kids (3 couples) running around like fools, that would be them!!!

Teena: Lilly is as cute as ever!!!

MickeyT - Have a magical trip!

Nanette - So sorry to hear about your foot - hope you get better quickly!

With everything going on with my mom I haven't had any time to chat with my BC/YC friends - here's the quick update:

Sadly I think we are going to stay at the Dolphin this summer. Rates are really good and DH's business definitely had an "off"year due to the hard economic times for his most valuable clients (constructions!). I will live vicariously through everyone who is staying at BC and will gaze longingly at SAB from the Dolphin! At least we are still going to Disney and still getting to stay at a deluxe resort.

Some good things have happened - DS passed the bar and is now a full fledged attorney and (drum roll) has a JOB!!!!! He is in 7th heaven.

We have added a new member to our family - a puppy! We got him last week, he is a 4 lb. bichon-zu (half bicho and half ****zu). His name is MICKEY!!!! We love him to death and he is the easiest dog I've ever owned. No barking and is just about completely housebroken. He is 9 weeks old.

Natebenma - THanks for posting the pictures of Lily. She is adorable.

Teena hope you are having a wonderful visit.

Even though I'm not posting much at all I wanted to take this time to wish all my BC/YC friends Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Years in case I don't get back for awhile.

Can't wait to hear about everyone's upcoming trips!!!!

Robyn- thanks for posting and updating us with all your news.

:grouphug: Hugs to you and your family!!!

Congrats to your son on his accomplishments!!! (now is this the one who was giving you fits in his youth and you shared stories about his disorganization to try and give me hope for the future of my teen?)

Congrats on the new addition to your family. Can't believe that DIS has edited out his breed. Really?

All the best to your family this holiday season. :santa:

Dee - this is the son who:

Never told me he won an award in the Diocese creativity fair so we didn't even go to the awards presentation. Of course this happened when I was VP of our PTA!

The son who told me in 10th grade that he couldn't believe I would help pay for college but wouldn't give him the money to instead go to wrestling school to become a professional wrestler. Mind you he is 5'9" and 119 lbs.
(said it with a straight face to boot!).

Same son who called me from college and said that instead of doing is study abroad in France (minored in French) that a girl (who he just met that night) told him that she did a really cool study abroad in S. Korea. This of course was during one of the many tension filled times between North and South Korea. Also said if he couldn't do the S. Korea one maybe he would do one in Israel (during the Israel/Lebanaon conflict). I hung up on him after this conversation. Yes - take the word of a girl you MET THAT NIGHT over the woman who gave birth to you. Needless to say he did his study abroad in France and had a fabulous time!

So to all the mothers of teenage boys YES THERE IS HOPE!!!!!!!

To all my BC/YC friends - even though we will be at the Dolphin we will still be BC'ers in heart!!!!!

Argh (frustration, not piratism)... Our new dates don't work with dear daughter's mandatory gymnastics camp! So, our new dates only work with VWL or SSR. So.... we're going to the World on June 8th at VWL. Trying to get excited, but we fell in love with BCV so much! Oh well, still will stop into see Teena. We are bringing a friend with us and don't want to pull the girls out of school. Oh well, I'm sure we'll have a great time!

We're going to Disney World, we're going to Disney World, we're going to Disney World!

So sorry to hear about the move, Sue, but we know your heart is at BCV! Hope you will be sticking around and sharing in the fun here, though.

If my son can keep his act together for the rest of the school year, I'll be at Disney earlier that week- June 4-8, but we will be at one of the All Stars.

So good to hear from you. Think of you often.

In these times so glad your son landed a job. I sure would hate to be starting out right now. Our son is having to miss our trip because of a new job (a good thing!)

Did a double take on what type dog you had aquired! The DIS censored your PUPPY! :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

And hope you and yours have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year

Time is getting close. Leave in two days. Pulling out late Tuesday or early Wednesday so should be under the WDW arch before lunch time. Got a pretty aggressive agenda for most days we are there but also a lot of fill in the blank time also. I would like to do one of my mini (live) trip reports if you guys are willing to listen. A little tease -- have CP dinner package, Lecellier and MVMCP booked.
Also taking my new camera and feel like this will be a great time for us to get to know each other and bond a little…. Still kinda intimidating. Many settings. Many knobs/dials.
Anyway we are soo ready to go. If you need any questions answered just let me know. Might not be able to answer but I’ll try and find someone that can. Just let me know if you need anything .

Thanks Mike!! I hope you have a GREAT trip!!! I'll look forward to your live reports!

Congrats to you and your son on the bar passing!!! It's such a big deal! When my daughter passed it was amazing!! Now we are doing it all over again in Texas... she sits for the bar the end of February hoping for the same result!!
Congrats on the new puppy sounds so cute! Happy holiday's to you and your family! Also Dolphin or BC it's still Disney and the fun will still be there! Enjoy the planning!

Shoot on the very wide side and crop post production. Fireworks are shot off on both sides of the castle as well as in the back.

Go for the fireworks in the beginning of the show - toward the end, you will mostly get smoke. Keep Shooting anyway and ditch the smoky ones in post production.

PS Charge your camera battery while you are sleeping and be sure to take a picture of your room before you leave for the parks to make sure all the parts are back in the camera.

All of these were great tips, MM! I'm hoping to get some great night shots with our Nikons this next trip, and copied these for my "trip notebook".

SO good to mention taking a pic of the room before you leave. One day on our last trip I left the battery on the wall.... made for a very heavy bag lugged around the parks with NO use. :sad2:

Adorable. And yes, we learned early on with Bailey and Zoe that cats LOVE to climb trees. (And stick their paws out at you when you're walking by, thus scaring the Christmas Spirit right outta ya.

I have a floating wrist strap in case I drop it.

I could have used one on our trip. I was determined to take a video of the Flying Jib while going down it... worked great until I hit the water, and dropped the camera!!! There were five of us swimming around a BLUE pool looking for a BLUE camera. Epic Jen Fail.:lmao:

One of them (Monster Energy Cat) gets into the branches. The spray bottle is no longer an effective deterrent. We now just have a wet cat. And we keep moving the lights and (plastic, unbreakable) ornaments higher and highter up on the tree. There is skirt of undecorated tree up to the height he can reach on his hind legs.

The camera strap I have is bright orange, so you would have no problem finding that in the blue pool. My son and I spent about 30 minutes trying to help a girl who lot her CLEAR goggles in the whirlpool at SAB. Not sure she ever found them.

Why yes, that is the 8th grade trip in June. The middle school principal said I COULD still go, even if Nate blows it. I was only half-joking when I asked!

I'm sitting here with Jeanne and Lily and Jeanne just totally lost it when seeing MM's picture of Lily. Thanks!!!! Jeanne needed that laugh!

Having a very very busy time. After a full day at school, Jeanne had a D&C done in the doctor's office after school. Won't know for sure until we get the biopsy results but doctor didn't think it looked good. She's handling it well ... afterall she has Lily!!

Another day at school tomorrow and we may go to take Lily to see Santa tomorrow night. Then home Saturday and back to the BC Sunday and Monday.

Sorry to hear about Jeanne's D&C. I'll keep your family in my prayers. Baby Lily is so adorable!

Had a great day with best friend shopping and Sushi in Columbia, SC
We leave SC in the morning for Florida. Weekend with dad and then BCV on Monday!!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Hope you have a fabulous trip! I think you'll love the BCV.

The bedding, pillows and toiletries at BC/YC are amazing! Many people are also blown away by the scents at the BC, but to be honest, I never paid much attention to the smell.

I love the bedding at BCV. The smell of the lobby this past week at BC was so nice too.

Have a great time! Love to read live reports. Just ate at Le Cellier and it was quite good. Wish I would have book the CP dinner package, as it was packed when Neil Patrick Harris was there.

Nanette - Sorry to hear about your injury.

I still don't have a copy of the December activities schedule for the front page. Any chance you could actually mail one to me while you are there (ONLY IF IT IS NOT TOO MUCH TROUBLE...)

Do you need me to email my address to you?

Thanks!!!

Dee

I have a copy of it now if you PM your email address, I could take a picture of it. Or do you need it scanned? I don't have a scanner.

I just returned last night and miss the BC already! I'll try to do a mini report later when I get a chance.

Meet Teena! Her smiling face was so inviting today. Had a few bumps at check in but Teena to the rescue! We are absolutly spoiled! I am humbled by the service and care they take on us! Now I am going down to take Joeseph to the pool! Love you all Will post pictures tonight!!!!!:love::love:

I look forward to hearing about your trip! I know it must be crazy will all the "just got back" tasks like laundry and bills.

If you get a chance to take a picture of the schedule, you can email it to beachclubdee@yahoo.com. This is an email address I use only for Beach Club "business" and the Fantasy Football team my son and I manage (it is a DISboards league)

But if you don't have a chance, no problem, sounds like Mike doesn't mind sending one to me and I can scan it in.
