AWWWW :grouphug::flower3::grouphug: Have a better rest of the day pump the coffee!! Also your son owns an Manning shirt?!?! That surprises me being deep in Pats land!! Good for him not being afraid to wear that shirt up there!! The day will get better Dee hang in there!!

~Nannette

Thanks Nannette- the surprising thing is that my husband got it for him when he was on a business trip to NY. He can barely speak the word "Manning" after the Game Which Must Not Be Named (Part 1)

Nate's wardrobe is pretty much "NFL-chic". I think he has outgrown his Brady, but he has Welker and Gronkowski (as well as outdated Bruschi and Moss) jerseys. He also has the Manning, Hillis (Browns), Peterson (Vikings), Ryan (Atlanta), Polamalo (Steelers) and Romo (Dallas)

I told him "too soon" to wear the shirt, and to bring another in case the school deems the shirt to be "offensive" and makes him take it off, but what can I say? He is a teenager.

Skipping back a few pages to the pic of the king room - does anyone know how many king rooms are at BC? I just loved the pic of that room!

And just to throw my 2 cents in - when we did a tour that started at the front of Epcot, prior to Epcot opening, we could not go in throught the IG. We were staying at S/D & had to take a cab to the front.

Dee, I hope your day gets better! And they kept the building OPEN? Can you imagine the smell? :scared1: Here's hoping your DS makes it home in one piece with that shirt on today! I can see my DS doing that when he's a teenager, for sure...

Home with a stomach sick kid, trying to work from home AGAIN. Geez, I haven't worked in my office for a full week in ages, between this and snow days. I keep getting distracted by the mounds of crap lying around. I am trying to de-clutter my house and it is going well, but holy moly I am beginning to realize that my kids have horder-like tendencies. I have to gut and throw things out when they aren't here! Our local diabetes association is offering a contest - entry in a free trip to Disney for four with every three garbage bags worth of stuff they collect. I'm ON IT. LOL They are picking up on February 12th - wonder how many entries I get???

Showed my DH all the lovely page 1 pictures and he says, "So, is this place an all-inclusive?" :lmao::lmao::lmao: Geez, just show up for the flight! He doesn't have a clue what kind of work is going into this trip (but I love it). If he started expressing an opinion I might lose my mind.

Dear Universe,

Please excuse Dee for being pissy today.

She had to drop her DH off at the train station at 6 am (before her first cup of coffee was finished) because his car is being serviced.

This is a picture of DH's office building this morning:

Roof fire- nobody hurt- building is open

And my son wore his Eli Manning shirt to school today. :sad2: (Traitor!)

:scared1::scared1::scared1:

Dee - Wow - when your day starts that way before 6 am it only goes downhill! Thank goodness everyone is okay in your DH's building - that looks really scary. Your ds cracks me up - you definitely don't have to worry about him being a follower.

My older ds (the Giants fan) STILL wears his Manning jersey to watch every Giants game.

Younger ds is Jets fan so he has Sanchez and the Vikings Peterson and a few more (I can't remember Jets ones). He also is a crazy Phillies fan so his whole summer wardrobe consists of Phillies Jerseys and t-shirts!

You don't know how lucky we are - my girls have recently discovered Abercrombie and Hollister. DH almost had a heart attack when he went shopping with us last week - sweatpants $58:scared1: He thought it was
bad when I bought them a lot of Lilly Pulitzer and Polo when they were younger. He thanks God every day that the last one is a boy!!!!

BTW - no gloating - both teams did a fantastic job of making it one of the best Superbowls ever. We all know it could have gone either way in the lat 5 seconds. Everyone on both sides was holding their breath!

Drink lots of coffee and hope things get better today!!!!

I don't know. But not a lot. You can request this room category, but it is not bookable (guaranteed).

And just to throw my 2 cents in - when we did a tour that started at the front of Epcot, prior to Epcot opening, we could not go in throught the IG. We were staying at S/D & had to take a cab to the front.

Thanks for sharing that info.

Hi Nannette,
Thank you so much for the information. I will certainly check with Tour planning office. We are doing the Backstage Magic Tour, Dolphins in Depth, Backstage safari, Around the world Segway tour, Behind the seeds tour, Richard Petty, and a Fishing excursion.
We only have one scheduled per day because I was concerned about the overlapping problem. Have you done the Backstage Magic and the Key to the kingdom tour? I am curious if we should do both or just the one?? we could work in the Key to the kingdom if the Magic kingdom is more in-depth. Which tours did you find the most interesting? We love Disney and want to get the most out of our Platinum Plan as this is a once in a lifetime trip.

I love the tours, but I would be concerned about tour overload. I definitely would not try to do more than one tour in a day. I find that they're tiring, and other people find that they're exhausting. It's a lot of standing around, which is hard on the back and the feet, and a lot of walking.

If you're doing Backstage Magic, I would skip Keys to the Kingdom.

Every tour guide is different, but in my case I thought Backstage Magic was much better. As you must know, the highlight to the Keys to the Kingdom tour is going in the utilidors. Our Keys to the Kingdom guide had us stand in front of some photos on the wall down there, and spent an extremely long time talking about the photos. We didn't see or do anything else down there.

Our Backstage Magic guide had us walk around down there, and pointed out different things. It was a long time ago, and they may have changed it, but we saw where the cast members get their costumes, we saw a wig room, a computer room, and lots of other things.

If you go to allears.net, they probably have recent reviews posted on there which will give you an idea of overlap.

Hi all! Do you know what kind of coffee maker is in the one bedroom villa?

Geesh! DEE I hope your day gets better! If it makes you feel any better....right now I am a Jet fan in the land of Giants!

I'm sure w/ this request I'm cementing my doom of freezing weather, but...I'd like to host the Noodle family (:lmao:). We'll be at BCV 12/2-8. Can you add me to the list?

I also put my son on the bus this morning wearing a Giants shirt. He's only in third grade, i am not sure he understands how angry that will make people today. I mean, let the wound heal first, kid!

We will be at BC in five short weeks. It's me, DH and DD17. Do I need to specifically request two queen beds? I don't want to end up with a king and a sofa sleeper.

Okay, I have been following some threads about spring break, but since so many threads can get snarky, I'd like to ask a question here where I feel safe. Well, safe from everyone except maybe that Marlton Mom. She has a tendency to come back with some interesting replies :rotfl2:. We will be at BC March 15-21. How bad will it be? We are normally there early February, but it just didn't work out for us this year. Is it going to be wall to wall people? Will we really have to wait in line for an hour for a snack or to use the bathroom? (I'm talking at the parks.) How crowded will SAB be? I'm trying to be open minded about this and remember we are on vacation, we'll be at Disney, it won't be Wisconsin, and we'll have a great time. We've been to WDW several times. We obviously want to go on the rides, but if we can't go on our favorite ride four times, I get it. We'll be happy to soak up the sun, shop, eat, etc. But will it be crazy? Can anyone suggest some things we could do if the crowds are nuts and we want to "get away"? Either Disney or non-Disney related. We will have a car.

Well, we have been there the same dates for the last 4 years. It is really not that bad. We do early entry and get the big attractions done early (Soarin", Toy Story, Expidition Everest, etc.) Then we do the lesser attractions, and then shows (when we're tired anyway and I can take a quick nap : ) If you have been several times before, you know the drill as far as what you will want to see and do in the parks. Just make sure you have a plan, and don't start wandering or changing your mind about which way to go every 6 minutes. Regarding food, we make some ADR's, but I hate to be tied down too much, and we can always find something good at all of the counter service restaurants. Sit down meals take a chunk of time out of your day, and if it is crowded, we feel like we'd rather have that extra time in the parks since things will take a little longer with the crowds.

Having a car is great because you can come and go a little more easily, especially if you are ready to leave a park in the middle of the day. Of course, the Disney transportation is super too, especially to MK.

The big thing is, we know we are going in March, there is no changing it, so we go with a positive attitude. We WILL have a good time.

Hope you have a fantastic time, and maybe our paths will cross!

Snarky threads??? Whaaaaaaaaatt?? You must have been visiting the Poly, POR & BWI threads....:rolleyes1 I know NOTHING about snarkiness over there. I swear. :thumbsup2 I know nothing about the entitled POR Royal Room transplants, the POR queen bed debachle, the scary clown pool, the phone books, nuttin, nada....

Anyway, we'll just miss you! I'll be at BC 3/4-6 and then 3/22-27! This is our 4th March trip, and yes it will be busy - but it won't be nuts. Last year in March was the 1st time I ever saw a queue line for TTA, and 30 min. waits for Spaceship Earth - but then we just avoided those things. Only once did we leave a park because it just felt too crowded, so that's what we did. Just be prepared to go with the flow. If a park is not enjoyable because you're waiting in line for the bathroom for 30 min, then try another park, or DTD or resort hop. How old are the kids? There's always the free movie on the beach if the evenings are just too crowded elsewhere. There is mini golf right across from The Swan, you could even walk to that if you want to escape the madness (there is a crosswalk near the Swan/Dolphin Grotto Pool).

This is the nefarious Marlton Mom reporting in! pirate: I can't really speak to the park crowd levels but I can tell you that Storm along Bay is like a sponge where it can absorb a lot of people and not feel crowded. I was there in june 10 th to the 20th 2011 so school was out and WDW was hopping with Star wars week and temps in the high 90's so you know the pool was busy.

So no worries re the pool being too crowed. I was there at peak times in the afternoon and I always found a chair or two as well.

While I'm at it I'd like to welcome all the newbies and d-lurkers and say welcome to the family!!! :grouphug:

Ok, i think I am confused about Cape May. I realize it is closed for a few weeks this summer but when it opens back up is there still going to be a Character breakfast there or is it not there any longer? At first I thought there was just no character meal at BC during the reno, but now I thought I was reading that they were completely doing away with the Char Breakfast. Is that true or am I just confused?

I am getting so excited. Only another 129 days to wait. I heard from IPO this weekend and I am already in love. Never had this kind of early contact with IPO at that "other" resort (though we still loved it). My BIL/SIL are down at Disney right now and I can't help but wish we were too. I would love a February trip but as a teacher, that will never be in the cards. Oh well, I just can't wait to hear all the details of their first trip so I can get even more excited about ours!

I am seriously impressed. That is a massive (and 100% coherent!) post for a phone!:worship:

I can't speak to the "high season" either, but I know the key is get to the parks EARLY to ride what you want, no matter when you go.

Though I am seriously considering no more Jan/Feb trips in the future. I'm going insane packing right now, we're going for 4 days but I feel like I'm packing for longer than 9! Weather can't decide if it wants to be dry/wet or warm/cold, so we're planning on both.

Going to miss hanging out by SAB this weekend, but looking forward to a quick getaway to Disney!

I would love a February trip

I agree, February is a great time for a trip (and so is March, April, May, June, July... oh really, it is Disney and anytime is Disney time!!! :cool1:)

We used to go in February but switched when my son was in middle school. Our last trip was in March and we found the crowds bigger than February, but it was still Disney and still fantastic!

Come on March, hurry up and get here already.:banana::banana:

AFAIK, policy at all the resorts is that they will not put 3 people age 3 and over in a king bed room. Occupancy of those rooms is max 2 + an infant.

I have no idea what kind of king rooms are at BC - if any even have a day bed or not, but there aren't a lot of king rooms anyway.

You should be okay. We're blacked out only the week before Easter so that is when they are figuring it will be the most crowded.
