 This is my first post :confused3, We have not been to DW for 5 yrs and are thinking about Jan 8 -16 but we woundering is the Marathon a crowded time if so we can change to the last week in Jan. Suggestions ?

We are planning a trip for Jan or Feb 2010 with the inlaws....hoping for a great winter discount...we used 4/3 last year at the Poly...!!

Im with you..hoping for a fab winter discount!! We are going Jan 30-Feb 7, and for the first time ever staying club level, so here's hoping!!

We are too just starting to plan. Having never done this with the family before this is all pretty overwhelming.

We are hoping for 10 days over Thanksgiving of 2010. Although seeing now that that weekend is a busy time I am rethinking things.

We have 2 sets of twins, all girls. They will be 5 and 6 at the time of travel. We are a bit nervous about how to break them up to ride as they will have to go together without us on a lot of rides. Never thought about that really until reading another post. So thanks for that added worry! ;)

Being a large family we know we will need to book fairly quickly so that we can get the room that we need without having to go with two rooms, however we are hoping that there will be some awesome deal that will allow us 2 rooms in the final plans.

We are also having my in-laws and possibly some other family join us, however we aren't all staying at the same places, we will just meet up at the parks.

Now I have to find the post with all the acronyms decoded. I have never seen so many on one board before! :rotfl:

I'm confused on how to do this...like if I want to go Dec 2010, I would book whenever I can then a code would maybe be avaiable later then we could call and they would apply this code? Are they listed on the Disney website?

me and some of my friends are going in jan 2010, we didnt book yet because one of my friends is there now and hes trying to get a bounceback deal but when he called they said we cant book for january 2010 yet so i check the website probly 10 times a day hoping 2010 dates and prices will be available soon!...were planing beach club, polynesian, contemporary or possibly animal kingdom lodge..any suggestions?

I don't think you can book bounceback over the phone. My bet is January is a slow month..just hold tight till September/October, I am sure there will be discounts out. I know it stinks waiting so long to book, but they want the full price people to book first before they give the rest of us discounts.

The codes are often listed on the Disney website but it's better to just stalk the codes & rates board in case it's not on the Disney website. You can ONLY get a code applied to your existing reservation IF what you booked applies. So if you booked Pop, but if they have no rooms available at Pop for that promo you may need to cancel and rebook at another value. Or whatever. Just be flexible and it should should work.

Rates for 2010, will likely not be out until early August, so it is still a bit of a wait. Then a few more months until discounts start popping up. It is a long process, but well worth it. :goodvibes

It's all very stressful to me!! Thank you for helping me. That is the only reason I have considered going through a TA. I'm afraid I'll miss out on something.

We are having our family reunion in November 2010 and I can't wait to book already. I am not sure where we are going to stay yet. It depends on the rates.
Patiently waiting:rolleyes1

We're planning on going October 2010. I have 3 kids, and something I started with the oldest was that for their 13th birthday I would take them to WDW. They get to choose the hotel and exactly *where* they turned 13. My oldest son chose Fort Wilderness and he wanted to turn 13 inside Cinderella's castle. Since he was born at 11:55 AM, I made lunch reservations for Cindy's. Nine years ago, Cindy's was still a really nice restaurant, and they made such a fuss over Austin! He loved all the attention from Cinderella! :lovestruc We had such a fun trip!

With my daughter, we stayed at the Poly and for the life of me I can't remember where she wanted to turn 13, but she was born at 5:01 PM so that was do-able. Chef Mickey's, maybe? Another fun trip.

With my youngest son, he wants to stay at the Contemporary, and I don't know how we'll deal with "where" he turns 13, because he was born 43 minutes after midnight!

These birthday trips are not full-blown vacations; we live close enough that driving is easy and their birthdays have all fallen on Thursdays, Fridays, or weekends so they don't miss much school.

I look forward to scoring a great package deal and planning a fun trip. I'm hoping that my oldest son will be in the College Program then!

If you do choose to go through a TA make sure it is one that will watch for the codes for you. Most Disney specialists do, but most others do not. When I went through AAA, I had to watch for the codes and notify my TA of the special and then after some coaxing, I got her to check it out for me. In other words, some TAs are no easier than doing it yourself.

We've booked! :cool1: For August 2010.

Booked a week at SSR direct with Disney with free DDP, then we'll use our dvc points for the remainder of our stay. We'll be staying for 23 nights in all! Woo hoo!

:lovestruc

Ok I had to stop coming to this thread because every time I did I got really excited then started to panic because of the flying thing. I can't believe how many are already booked. Our time is getting closer and I can't wait. Just a couple more months and the rates will be out for 2010. :cool1::cheer2:

I'm working on 2010 and 2011!:cool2: We're going to do annual passes and go for 10 days in June 2010 and maybe 10 days (but definitely at least 7) in May 2011. Not sure where we'll be staying yet....all depends on what AP discounts I can get on the rooms. But I'm excited just to be doing early planning!

So count me in :thumbsup2

We originally booked for Sept and were staying at the POLY, club level but we just went in December and I had major surgery in Feb so I am just not ready to hit the world just yet!

So we plan on staying at the Poly from 2/17 to 3/6/2010, give or take a few days. I am looking forward to when we can actually book a package and if any deals come out!

I am curious about the time we have chosen though...i have been getting mixed reviews. While I am concerned about crowds, I would like there to be a chance of some nice weather too!

Looking forward to planning for 2010! :cool1:

Wow! It is so exciting to see so many people planning for 2010. I have been tossing the notion around for a while since DH and I will be celebrating 15 years next year. I decided to plan it as a secret, at least to start. I want to have everything ready so he will truly be surprised and able to celebrate without having to feel like he has to do work :rotfl2:

A little back-story...DH and I have only ever been to MK once for 1/2 day...and we have not been to any of the other parks:eek:

We are, however, Disneyland experts as we live in CA and usually have annual passports. However DH got a little "burned out" after going for about 8 years, multiple times per year. Needless to say, he hasn't been back since 11/07....I have however!:thumbsup2 So, I want him to experience everything that DW has to offer and realize how much we will need to go back over and over!!:yay:
