DH and I are thinkin about going on the 2010 members cruise. It would be a trip for just the two of us as Grandma has agreed to watch the kids since they have school. My question is...since we have never been on a member cruise, what exactly goes on during one? I noticed they have two stops at Castaway cay during the 4 night cruise which is awesome to me. I love their island.

Those 2 days at CC are attractive to me, and the timing is right for us for next years cruise as well.

We were on the 2005 Member cruise and it was the first one for Jim Lewis as the head of DVC and he had some information sessions, Art Linkletter was on board and gave some entertaining talks, Ducky Williams was very interesting, there were member meets, it was lots of fun for us, and excellent entertainment.

DH needs to find out if he can buy vacation time, or I have to find a friend to go with. I'm interested in this upcoming one!

We have been on a total of 6 DVC criuises so you can tell by that I love them!! I have to be totally honest though they very quite extensively from one to the other. Some years the special guests and entertainment have been outstanding. Other years the special gifts have been over the top. There have even been some years where neither of those were great but we got the opportunity to meet some fellow DVC'ers.

I like them because of the relaxed cruise with just 2 stops at Castaway Cay. I LOVE being with fellow DVC members and chatting it up with them at any appropriate opportunity. I think these cruises are one of the best 'perks' we have as DVC members/

I hope you get to enjoy one. The next one (2010) will be one we will have to miss since we will be flying over to Barcelona Spain to get on the Transatlantic 14 day cruise at about the same time.

Have fun and hope you are able to get through on the phone lines!!!! :goodvibes

I have been on 2 Member Cruises. There are always special events planned for the members including special speakers and shows that differ from the regular cruise shows. The gifts given in the past are a nice surprise for the Disney-DVC fan.

Expect some "add-on points" talks and offers from the DVC cast members. All in all, a great time.
