2010 Food and Wine Festival Information Out...

AllEars has the 2010 Food and Wine Festival information posted on their site but I don't know if it's me or not, but there doesn't seem to be as many "Booths" this year.

There are a few new booths which look interestering and now more than ever I can't wait for October!!

One of my favorite items from last year was this Bread Pudding from New Orleans and this year I see it's at the "Barley and Hops" booth. This stuff was GOOOOOOD.

I just realized that the Bread Pudding I had last year was Praline Bread Pudding and this one is Pecan Bread Pudding. Hey...how bad can it be???

I saw that the daily culinary demonstrations, the 45 minute ones, that were free only two years ago, and $5 w/DVC discount last year, have almost doubled in price to $9 (or $13?). Although I enjoyed them, I think it's time to say "Good-Bye" to attending those. I'm sure Disney won't miss my money-there was always such a long line for those. I hope all the samples at the booths haven't increased in price like that.

Does anyone open their booths up a day or 2 early? We booked too late to get in to any DVC resorts during the first 2 weeks of Oct. so opted for last week of Sept. I went to the W&F a couple of years ago and really had a great time, at least what I remember of it until hitting the Champagne booth, and would like to at least sample a couple of things.

I am sorry I am not going this year. I banked my points. But I am going in 2011 just waitin for that day in which reservations open up. I am wanting to coincide the Food and Wine Festival with Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party on October 31st so I am sure things are going to book up fast for Halloween. I am planning on staying for a Saturday and Sunday visit but reading allears.net they complained about the rumbunctious activity on Saturdays so I am thinking I might not want to go on Saturday unless I planning on going to an event that night I forget what it is called.

I am planning on staying for a Saturday and Sunday visit but reading allears.net they complained about the rumbunctious activity on Saturdays so I am thinking I might not want to go on Saturday unless I planning on going to an event that night I forget what it is called.

I stay away from the F&W on Saturdays. I remember one year I did go on a Saturday night and I don't think I've ever seen as many people in Epcot as I did that night. It really wasn't enjoyable with all those people and then you had the ones who were obviously drinking too much and making complete fools of themselves.

DH and I just got back from our family trip to the Smokies last night and started our planning for F&W. So many things sound tasty. I need the chocolate crem brulee!We are running the 1/2 marathon, so unfortunately we can't do any of the special programs on Saturday (so sad we have to miss the program put on by the winemaker of Conundrum - one of our favorites) and want to just relax on Sunday at AKV, so we'll just have to enjoy ourselves on on Monday and Tuesday sampling all that we can. Already read that we have to try the bread pudding. Any other suggestions of things we shouldn't miss? We have only been once, 3 years ago. This time it's just DH and me! Can't wait!

We've never done anything particular at F&W but the Grand Marnier presentation caught DH's interest, so we're signing up for that. I'm going to check out other things too. We're only there for a long weekend, and I want to do MNSSHP for sure as well.

Figment2, I will pass along your recommendation to DH.

I agree that Saturday nights are very very crowded. Someday, when we're retired, pretty soon, we'll be sure to take a week's time at F&W.

I'm there for almost a week this year but most of the events I want to attend are either on my arrival day (earlier than I actually arrive) or on the day I depart!! But I always have a great time there. I'm trying to get DH to come with me next year. Usually these F&W trips are for "Mommy" only!
