I don't want to be Debbie Downer, and no one knows for sure, but this was just tweeted by mousemiser: "Ugg, with the WDW kids stay and play free now covering September dates, is this the end of free dining for 2010? I say yes. "

With all due respect to the miserly mouse.. I disagree..

For families with several kids under 9 - the Stay n Play offer can be more attractive than Free Dining .. it really depends on what you need, want and desire in a vacation.

I can completely see Disney making both offers.

For the mostly adult traveling party - F/D is a better deal.. for two adults with 2 or 3 kids under nine years old -- the stay n play offer can work out better.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. I'm all for complete panic when the moment calls for it..

But I think that moment ain't here yet. :goodvibes

Is it possible Disney made a last minute change our mind decision? Yup.

We'll know for sure in the next few days.

Oh, one more thing. . .the book by date for the DVIsa offer is by June 30. . .could they putting off FD until July?

I hope not. I think I'm going to make myself completely sick  waiting until July!

Come on FD on Monday!!!!:woohoo:

Love you, Knox!! Have your sources (whoever they:rolleyes1 ) made any changes to the rumors you orginally posted??

Some of us really think there will be tiered,or no FD this fall-that suprises me!! When I see some of these posts,I can hardly believe the negative thoughts!:confused3 Visualize yourself at Crystal Palace having dinner before Wishes-and only having to leave a tip!!!! FD is a reality,FD is a reality,FD is a reality etc....:wizard: Hurricane season will be upon us soon, and so will Regular Free Dining Plan for All!!!:wizard: Tiered FD is Economical Discrimination!!!:rolleyes1 IF it does'nt happen,Disney will feel the loss, and so will we-so be POSITIVE everybody!!!!:goodvibes

Did anyone notice that on the Disney website the offer for mods was Reduced down to 20%...maybe lots of people are booking? :confused3

The dh calls me from work as a co worker just booked and he asked if I could get a better rate than their call to Disney :lmao::lmao: too funny.....it s why I "think" I noticed a reduced discount now.....Hmmmm.... am I wrong

This "newer"(meaning not the first summer offer) offer has always been 20% for mods...The first summer offer was 30%. I still think they are having trouble booking rooms...which is why we haven't seen any offers for GP(besides kids) for late Aug/Sept.

I'm with you. . . (Did you notice the end day of that promo is the same as the Book-by date. Isn't that a little odd?)

Does anyone think the Disney execs are getting a good laugh as they read the boards and we are all freaking out?? :lmao: I bet so! Not a very Disney thing to do, but funny if you think about it.

No, they have done the book by dates like that sometimes.

Of course the execs are getting a good laugh...they are making sure you will book the BB next time and spare you the misery of waiting:rotfl:

Nope.

Please do keep in mind.. I posted this rumor based on folks who would be positioned well enough to know..
(none of whom worked at or for Disney btw - so Disney if you're reading this - relax - none of YOUR folks are the loose lips) ... LOL

But ultimately.. it's all rumor and even if it were true when I posted it.. Disney is NOTORIOUS for changing their mind.

I, as everyone else on this board, do wish that the FD DVisa offer will be offered tomorrow.

I do not know whether to check before I go to work or after. If I check before I go, I will be crazy all day waiting to get off.

And when your workin in a pediatric unit, I don't think that would be a great idea. I could see myself with a family....."I said let's get this show on the road people! I have Disney vacations to book! Don't you see my hand is already on the phone awaiting to push for Disney Reservations? So no I cannot take your temp, no I cannot give you your medications. I mean come on. That means I have to take my hand off this phone, and I just cannot do that.":rotfl:

Okay, I really wouldn't do that. That would be very mean of me. But I do know that when that clock says 2pm, I'm hightailing it out that door....with my hand on the Disney speed dial number, of course. :rolleyes1

All along I have thought WDW would offer FD this Fall, or if not something else really good.
However, now I am getting worried between the extension of the Kids stay play through Oct 2nd. AND if FD was going to available for Disney Visa holders tomorrow morning, wouldn't we have heard something leaked from travel agents by now?? This is my fourth year following FD and my recollection is that at least by the day before, the codes were even already floating around.
I'm beginning to think that best case at this point is that it will NOT be offered early tomorrow to Visa holders (as opposed to worst case of not offering it at all!). But hoping I'm wrong as I am sooo tired to not knowing what our plans will be, so I've been working on multiple itineraries.

On a side note, I went ahead and booked some refundable deposits the Universal hotels (stay longer deal), as well as an WDW offsite. There are some good deals out there. Also, Universal just sent out PIN discounts for their "deluxe" hotel (Portofino) for dates through mid-August only.

They did not remove dessert. It is RUMORED they may get rid of it next year.

Don't flame me, but I almost wish they would, because I feel compelled to eat it. Every. time. :rotfl:

I would love if they did away with dessert on the reg. DP and added mugs or apps even, but that's not likely, I guess.

I am betting FD (as in the regular DDP) is offered to Visa holders and the teired plan is offered to the GP. Seems like they are making it more and more appealing to have a Disney Visa. I could eb wrong but would not be suporsed to see this happen.

I am not sure why people think that only one offer can be out at a time, Right now they have 2!

To add to the hopefullness...Just spoke to my TA to make some changes, and he told me that all though he could not absolutely guarantee it, that a very very very reliable source has confirmed to him that Monday is the day for FD. This info was offered up without me even asking. Looks like the rumors just might be true :cool1:

Are you a Disney Visa holder?

Did you all see this:

http://www.mouseplanet.com/9233/Walt_Disney_World_Resort_Update

They think it will be QSDP for value and mod:( I hope not since the kids free and FD would be the same price at POR.

Do keep in mind that the size of your traveling party and their ages really set the value differential between the two offers.

In your case, it may come out even steven, (swapping free kids tickets for free adult QSDP) but with 4 adults.. F/D wins hands down.

:confused3

And.. maybe this is exactly what the words "Scaled back" meant when Disney was talking about scaling back their discount offers.. ie: making them less expensive for Disney.. ?

True but then you weigh whether or not its worth considering a deluxe? Say 4 adults for 10 days you are at a minimum of $400 to upgrade to DP. I do have 3 kiddos in the range so it is pretty even steven.
Not complaining at all...just hopeful that it is for all levels of resorts.
