2010 Dining Reviews

I've already changed my mind about Captain's Grille, and have decided to eat at Sci Fi instead. Seems easier to eat in the park, then to leave, go to the Yacht Club, and then go right back to the park, especially when I plan on leaving the park around 3:00 for the day anyway. And I have wanted to get back to Sci-Fi soon, for a burger and shake, that sounds like a perfect meal right about now.

Well, my plan hasn't changed since last week, so I guess that's a good sign. Though I'm 99.9% certain it will change before I make ADR's it always does. I shouldn't be thinking about Disney food right now, since I have to fast overnight, (having blood work done in the morning,) and can't eat until late tomorrow morning.

But I've been reading other reviews, (also not a good idea while fasting,) and looking at menus, dreaming about what I'm going to eat once I'm going to get to Disney.

I know I want the honey-hazelnut and ricotta cheesecake at Mama Melrose's, I've been wanting to try that for awhile, and either the strip steak or the lamb at Turf Club, I'm having a hard time deciding between the two, but that's okay, I have seven months! :lmao:

I'm pretty sure I know exactly what I want at Yak and Yeti, the Shaoxing steak and shrimp, and the fried wontons for dessert, both of which I've had before. And I know I want to try the mustard seed-crusted scallops at Sanaa. And a milkshake at Sci-Fi, gotta have one of those.

And Boma - I am dreaming about the sausage and biscuit casserole there. Though I've never had breakfast at Boma before, I've made the casserole at home, and I really want to see how Boma's and mine compare. There's lots more I want to try there too. That may actually be one of the meals I'm most excited about, and I'm usually not even a big breakfast eater.

I guess those are the only things I really have "planned" in advance about what I'm almost certain I'll order. All that's for my fall trip though, I still haven't gotten really excited about my spring trip yet, which is weird.

:yay: I always love your reviews and find them so helpful, so I am subbing in and reading along. Looking forward to your Spring and Fall reviews!

I think I have definatly decided to not upgrade to deluxe dining this fall. It would cost me a couple hundred more then what I have planned right now, which is already a lot of food.

I have also decided to add Whispering Canyon Cafe and Artist Point to my fall plans, though I must admit the only reason I'm adding Artist Point is because the updated menu has a goat cheese tart on it, and though I know the chances of that still being on the menu in the fall is not guaranteed, the fact that it's on the menu now is enough for me to want to make an ADR there.

Hmmmmm, so you are leaving me alone in the quest of eating ALL the WDW food! :lmao:
Tom and I were discussing that MAYBE DxDDP wasn't such a good idea, but I am locked in with the Brits and having it removed would cost a ton as well, so why not try to eat as much as possible. I wonder if they will have to ROLL us on the plane! :rotfl:

I love what you have planned so far and I for one am hoping for the tart at Artist Point as well. If we both keep our fingers crossed ........... maybe ..........:goodvibes

Has anyone gone to Illuminations? if so how was your experience? We are planning to stop there and would like to know what to expect! Any input would be appreciated.

Yeah, I just can't justify the deluxe plan this trip. Maybe next year. I was talking to my "aunt" over Easter, and I think I may have talked her into a trip at some point in the future with me, and if we go, I think I'm going to try and do deluxe for that.

And I really want that goat cheese tart.

Signing on!:goodvibes
Welcome! :goodvibes

:confused3 I'm just going to assume this was just posted in the wrong place. But I have seen Illuminations many times, and think it's a good show, but not as good as Fantasmic, Wishes, or Spectro Magic.

Sadly, due to some scheduling changes, I think Crystal Palace may be out of our spring plans.

I am finally getting really excited for my spring trip, which is getting closer and closer every day. Only a couple more weeks to go until I will finally have something to review! I think part of the reason for my newly found excitment is that one of my friends is there now, and is constantly updating his Facebook status with things like "have a Disney day." That just puts a smile on my face and reminds me I'll be there soon.

ETA - And duh, my real reason for updating, I hit post prematurly, I made some ADR's today! Got pretty much everything I wanted though, almost all within the times I wanted though I did change some times around from what I orginally planned I think everything's going to work, and I think it's going to be fantastic!

Booked so far are; Whispering Canyon Cafe, Cape May Cafe, Boatwright's, Boma, Kona, Wolfgang Puck, Sci-Fi, Artist Point, San Angel Inn, Kouzzina, Yak and Yeti, Turf Club, Flying Fish, and the Wave. I'm really looking foward to eating at all those places.

Also, there were some small changes to my spring trip plans, as I mentioned in my previous post I'll probably have to cancel Crystal Palace, since I had to switch around my park days, and there is just no availability for Crystal Palace for the day we're now planning on being in Magic Kingdom on, which will give us some extra counter service reviews, but I'm not sure where yet, I'm debating between Columbia Harbor House or Cosmic Ray's.

Your lineup of restaurants looks fantastic! We have yet to try Cape May Cafe, San Angel Inn, the Turf Club and Flying Fish! But we really love the rest of them!
Don't give up on Crystal Palace! In February I was able to get an ADR real late in the game with a much better time for us than what we originally had! So keep checking online!
As for CS at the MK - we definitely love Columbia Harbour House! The food is very nice (tuna sandwich ....:cloud9:) and the upstairs seating makes for a nice relaxed lunch (most of the time! ;))

Flying Fish is fantastic, I'm shocked you've never been there before.

Going in October as well... when planning I remebered you deluxe reviews.

The first four days we are doing the deluxe plan: California Grill, Jiko, Yak and Yeti, Chefs de France and Kona for lunch, and Narcoosses.

Then when we move to BWV ( a generous gift from her aunt) we are doing Kouzzina Breakfast, Raglan Rd, Kona Breakfast, Garden View Lounge and Flying Fish. Also venturing off site and and winging it on a trip Beaches and Cream. More flexible this end of the trip because we have a kitchen at the villa.

For some reason I wanted to share. It is her first trip so there is a fine line with not overwhelming her with plans. She is planning on taking pictures and I am actually considering a reviews.....tiem will tell.
