Have noticed several threads for 2009 Sep plans, but none just for solo travellers!

Interested in seeing where a Sep 2009 One stays, what plans are made, and if One plans to stay on site the whole visit or not!

My trip plan started as Solo, expanded to include a sister, and now back to Solo again!
(and in Jun expanded to include cousin for 1st week)

My dates are Sep15-29, a split stay between POP and YC (maybe free dining if offered for POP, but a 40% pin for YC--average cost of whole stay is what suggested the YC stay... the walk to EPCOT & DHS, and the full balcony is what sealed the deal!)
(now POR/YC instead of POP/YC)

Plans are so up in the air right now, other than maybe spending every 3rd day at a water park, and doing a ropedrop at each park at least once! Thinking I might like to take in a tour or 2, such as EPCOTs UnDISCOVERED country.

Love travelling solo: time alone, and also time to meet and chat with others.
Oh, and especially the hotel bathroom allllll to myself!

I'll be doing a solo trip. Mostly photography but since I've never been this time of year, it's my first experience with MNSSHP and Food & Wine. Current plans are from Sept 25 - Oct 5 with the resort(s) still up in the air.

I am at the Beach Club from 21st September til 5th October trying to get a group of people to do V&a chiefs table for 27th if I can get it.

Just read up on Chef's Table at Victoria and Albert's... WoW!
Don't think I'm up for it this trip, but think that will go on my list! This will only be my 2nd stay onsite, and there's still so many other places to try!
Maybe for my 50th birthday (which is closer than my 29th...).

I will be putting my name in as a volunteer for the Expedition Everest Challenge, that I think will be the last Friday in September.... and maybe try it in a following year.

I'll also be in WDW in Sept...My dates are Sept 20th - 27th...I'll be at the Animal Kingdom Villas. Seems like a long time from now still, but the way this year is flying by, it will be here before we know it. :woohoo:

I'll be there from Sept 27-October 4th, currently all at Poly CL. Was thinking of splitting the stay to include 4 nights at Poly, three at BC, but then I heard that Stormalong Bay closes down completely at night? Since I'd want to use the pool at night, that's lame. Either way, I'll be there. Maybe a bunch of us September people can hang out!

What exactly is that? Can you give me details, price, etc? Might be pretty cool to do something like that.

I checked it out, and it sounds amazing for a foodie!
Don't be expecting Wings and Beer!
Apparently there is 1 table inside or directly in front of Chef's preparation station. It can seat about 10 people, and they just take 1 reservation for it either once or twice a night (they won't say, take a reservation of 3 and another of 4, to have 7 people at the table).
The chef interacts with these guests, and from what I can tell you don't order from the menu, rather it's a tasting menu:
Appetizers, entrees, desserts and more.
It's a meant to be a leisurely event at least a couple hours long.
Price about $165 plus taxes/tips/alcohol, so figure on $250 per person (espec if you choose to have wine pairings). Pricey perhaps, but you pay for greatness! And imagine the preparation and presentation ideas you'll get from this!

Here's a DIS link I found about it:

I didn't see it, but sure the Restaurant Reviews board might have more?

I think Citricos might also offer a Chef's table?

I'm going in September! First time by myself. Not sure of exact dates but I think it will be Sept. 9-14. If not than the following weekend.

I'll be staying at a value. I love Pop, but I'm trying to try different things on this trip and so I'm thinking about staying at one of the All Stars.

I'm 25 year old female. I'd be happy to meet up with people, but it seems like a lot of people here are going at the end of the month. :)

Nice, the PoP is my favorite value resort. Yeah, I'll be there the week of the 20th...it's fun to get a group of Dis'ers together.

I'm going sept8-12 staying at POP as of now. I'm a 45 yr old female wouldn't mind meeting up with some people maybe by time Sept gets here we can get a group together for a ride or 2.

Ok, I think I will be alone Sept 9-16th. I love traveling. Have been to WDW 18 times(with family) DL, once. Alone. While I loved it, because I love everything Disney. Loved doing whatever I wanted to do. But, I absolutely hated having to eat alone. I am pretty sure they are going to offer free dining. So, that means 7 nights of eating alone. I dread it. I think I am going to stay at POP. But, I have been thinking about CSR.. Anyhow, does anyone else feel the way I feel about eating solo?

Treat yourself to the luxury of dining alone! I very much enjoy a nice leisurely time with good food, and a cold drink, especially if I can people watch or scene watch. It's a nice chance to recharge your internal battery in a hectic day.

If it helps, pretend you're just passing the time until OH (Other Half... should that be DOH!? Disney Other Half?::goodvibes ) meets you, or even that you own the restaurant and you are interested in seeing it from a diner's perspective! Nobody there knows who you are, or even who you might be!

Just don't face the corner or bury your face in a book (because your mother always said not to read at the table!). Be sure the maitre d' gives you a table from which you can enjoy the restaurant or the outside view.

I generally find waitstaff are very courteous to solo diners. Last year I did Poly's Luau Cove, Chefs de France, Marekkesh, Boma, Hollywood & Vine solo. And did not feel out of place, and was not made to feel out of place!
(Started HoopDeDoo Revue solo, but met people on the boat going over who asked if I would join them---that meal was hokey but fun!)

My biggest problem with dining solo is not getting to taste anyone else's meal! :woohoo:

I'm pretty sure I'm going in September but my dates are up in the air at the moment. Keeping my fingers crossed the awesome flight fares keep up until FD codes are released, but I'll likely be there the 14th through 19th. Hoping for Pop preferred but failing that I'll likely move up a level to one of the mods. Anyone have any opinions on which mod is best for traveling solo? I've been to PO a couple times so thinking about CSR or maybe CBR again.
