2009 Room Rates

Jeez. Is it me or was that a BIG jump in some of the pricing? Well at least to me it seems like a lot... Might be $250 for a moderate in value season by the time my trip rolls around! WDW is turning in to a place that is not easily attainable for the average middle class family of 4.

I guess it depends on what resort you book...I priced out a 9 night trip for October 2009 at both CSR and POP. The price that the website gave me for 2 people at CSR with base tickets, 2 doubles (instead of a king bed) and the regular DDP, is $2935.50! If we add in a king bed, it comes out to $3188.58! That is WAY more money than I had anticipated...especially booking more than a year in advance...and that doesn't even include airfare

If we stay at POP instead, the price was $1562.10 (again without airfare, and in a standard room) which is much more reasonable... so unless I get a code for a significant discount at CSR...I fear we may be headed back to a value

It's just dissapointing. I know the value resorts are still fairly affordable. I just had desires to stay at a moderate or cheaper deluxe and WDW is doing everything they can to torpedo that plan every August.

I feel your pain! We used to always stay at ASMo and then decided to move up to moderates. It was expensive but at least affordable if you booked in advance. If I'm getting a quote of $3188 NOW for CSR, more than a year in advance...I'm afraid to see what the rate will be if I wait until 2009 to book! Just keep praying for a discount code!

I think it was a 50 dollar increase per night at the Contemporary towers. My trip's in 2010, and I'm terrified of another 50 dollar jump.

If you're booking for 2010, they are quoting you the highest rate for the highest season for a room. They did that to me before the 2009 rates came out, even though I was booking for a traditionally value season. The rate came way down after the 2009 rates were published. And AAA discount brought it down much further.

Up to 45 days in advance it should be no problem to change reservations as long as there is availability. I have seen many posts on this board where a new code becomes available and then switch to what was available.
