So, do people buy the 1 day tix to get the FD, then buy the rest of the days thru UCT?

It would be pointless to buy a one day ticket to get free dine and the rest through UCT. Just buy the length of tickets you need from disney since youre already paying the $80 per person anyway

Oct 2-10 is still free dining but the room rates are higher

Oh good! I was afraid it was only for discounted dining instead of free dining or something like that. I'm glad to know that the room rates are the only difference! Thanks for the info!

I agree. The only reason to do this would be if different members of your party want/need different ticket lengths/options/etc.

Yes, you can cut it down to 5 nights without a penalty if you do it more than 45 days in advance. If you make that change less than 45 days in advance, then there is a $50 fee.

If you are asking whether they will give you credit for this year's one-day pass toward buying next year's 10-day pass as part of the FD package, I believe the answer is no. But I think you could book only a one-day pass for next year, and then upgrade that pass to a 10-day pass when you get there; or you could save next years's one-day pass for something else and upgrade this year's one-day pass to a 10-day pass next year. Confusing, huh?

Another thing: I think you can only upgrade unused passes at the parks or DTD guest services. I tried to do it at our resort, but they said no.

Just returned from POR and they let us take our unused park passes (I had bought a 7 day MYW with (7) water park and more DISCOUNTED thru UCT) and had 2 park days and then 5 water park left.
Just before checkout, We upgraded the tickets to 10 day (which was CRAZY cheap and added Non expire (200) and the Concierge did it right at resort. SINCE I already USED some days on pass and had a discounted rate, we were NOT upcharged, but just paid the difference. That leaves us with a NON expiring 5 day park pass PLUS 8 visits of water park and more (since we used 5 park already and 2 water already).
Then we also have the one day ticket that does not expire till you use it for 08 (free dine we just returned from ) AND we'll have a 1 day 09 as part of Bounceback 09. So we're fully set for atleast next vacation and likely will upgrade again when back on property 09.


I also had the 1 day MYW from this trips FREE DINE but decided to just save it since it could NOT be used towards NEXT years FREE dine bounceback promo we booked for 09.
