2009 bookings on WDW site

When will I be able to book direct on the WDW official site for May 2009?

You can book a room only ressie by calling DW directly, or through your TA. Room only ressies are allowed as long as they are under the 500 day mark from your planned check-in date. Then when the package deals are released, you can switch it over.
I know that wasn't your original question, but just an FYI.

I'm right there with you as we're booked for this December and I haven't even hit my 180 day mark for ADRs for THAT trip yet and I'm already thinking about a trip that's over a year away . But that's half the fun to me.....planning and LOTS of it . I just never get enough of Disney....I'd go every other month if I could . My DH and two DSs just shake their heads at me as I'm constantly talking about our trips and it doesn't help that I have Mickey all over my house (and truck.....toppers/hitch plug/license plate)......Mickey's everywhere around here .

I seem to recall that the new rates come out in August, but you couldn't book online until a few weeks later. I might be wrong about that, but calling disney is always easier in my opinion.

I think the rates are going up minimally, at least for value season. When I looked at booking 12/31/08 - 1/7/09 yesterday, the rates were $84/night for a value resort (up from $82) and deluxe was up by $5.

i'm kinda sad because we wont be going next year at all...we're taking a Disney cruise instead and its too much money to go on the cruise and buy our APs so my DH said one or the other...so after September we wont be back until 2010. ...

That is what we are doing this year. Last trip to WDW was Dec 2007, we just got back from the cruise and our next WDW trip is in Feb 2009 and you see what I am doing with my free time . February can't get here fast enough...
