2009/2010 School Calendar

We live in South Carolina (about 5 minutes from Augusta,GA). Ours is from August 17- June 3. It is 180 days.

We start August 17th (1/2 day) and we end May 21st (1/2 day). However, our new jerk of a Superintendent changed our fall break from a full week to two days. He did give us an extra day at Thanksgiving, so, we now get off 3 days that week (probably so that HE can go visit HIS family in Boston that week).

Schools here start on August 31 and end around June 10-11. I think the second week of May is a great time to vacation at Disney. We were there May 2-12 and I thought the crowd levels were fine. It was hot, but I guess that is to be expected.

We start September 1st & end June 17th assuming we don't get any snow days.

We start on 8/18 & end between 5/26 & 6/3 depending on snow days. My DD & I went the last week of May in 2007 & really enjoyed it!!!

No fall break at all - 2 weeks at Christmas - 1 week at Spring break (includes good Friday).

We usually do about 195-196 days - I think because labour day is so late this year, we'll be cut to around 192-193.

Our schools here in Colorado Springs start between Aug 3-20th, DS #1 is in a charter school so he starts the 3rd but the twins preschool doesnt start till the 24th. They end the first week in June ( unless more budget cuts come down the pipe line and the charter school has to cut the year down a bit )

I am a teacher and my school district begins Aug 19th. My kids go to private school and they begin on Aug 24. We both finish on June 4th.

We are in St. Augustine, FL and I *think* that kids start Aug 22?? Not sure. LOL. But thats what I've been hearing.

I think we've become "weenies" about the cold!! I mean c'mon, we do live in New England!

In my area of Indiana it is August 12th - May 26th (I believe - snow days may extend this)

New York City public schools return on Sept 9 and get out on June 28.

We do not have any snow days built into our schedule.

We have a ton of breaks during the school year.

Except for year-round school systems, I feel like we have to start before anyone else in the USA! August 3!

We get out May 19. This is in Tennessee.

We begin August 6th. Our last day is supposed to be May 13th but that will not happen here in Southeastern Kentucky because of the weather. I teach Kindergarten in our district and this past school year we missed 19 days of school. We got out June 3rd instead of mid-May. Just for once I would love to book our annual Disney World trip for the 3rd week in May instead of in June but I can't take the chance. Oh, the life of a school teacher.
