2009/2010 School Calendar

I would like to hear when your kids start and end school this school year. Our kids start on Aug 10 and end on May 24. I find they are ending early and wondering if maybe that will be a good time to vacation in The World, I think most kids will still be in school. TIA

Grrrr Sept 2 this year. We have NEVER gone back before Labor Day. Screwed up my trip this year. We get out the end of June.

We start Sept 2nd and the 185th day is June 24th. Depending on snow days we'll be +/- a few days from the 24th.

Sept 8-June 11...MI schools are required to start after Labor Day.

Grade 6 kids start August 31 and the rest of the district starts on September 1 (grade 6 is the beginning of middle school here). The scheduled last day of school is June 15, but the days up to and including June 30 are marked on the calendar as potential school days in case of weather cancellations. Oh, the joys of New England.

Ours starts Aug 24th and goes through May 27th. It's 175 days, two days shorter than last year and a full week shorter than the school districts around us. Not really sure how we get away with that...

Hi I'm from Los angeles Ca. and one daughter is in September 9. out December 21 till January 11. April 5 till April 12. Out for summer June 18.
The other started on July 2. Is out November 2, Starts again January 4, 2010 out again May 3.

In Texas a few years ago, they mandated that we could not start before the 4th Monday in August. ( I think that is how it is worded.) So, every year, we start then, the 4th Monday in August. Districts can start later. One year, our district started later to give the contractors time to complete a new elementary school.

So... we start August 24 and end June 3.

I see from your location that you are also in louisiana. Our dates are almost the same as yours. We start on Aug. 10th, but I think we get out around the 20th or 21st. I do hear of a lot of people going to Disney for the Memorial Day week while a lot of the rest of the country is in school.

Start August 25th and end on June 9th

We start Aug. 18th and are out May 27th

My kids start Aug. 27th-June 1st...180 days...give or take a couple of days for fog & snow...

We start August 18th and finish up on May 21st of next year. However, we don't have a fall break like many school districts do -- only 3 days at Thanksgiving.

Our last visit began on Memorial day of this year, and the timing was perfect. Great weather for the most part, and managable crowds.

Our school dates are Sept 8th through June 18th.
But in NJ we always start in Sept.

However, our district (and others in NJ) has
the first full week of November off for teacher's
conferences (Thurs and Fri of that week) and
somehow they are calling it "Fall Break."
So this year Jersey Week may be more crowded.
