2008 No Expiration Tickets Question

My DD and her BF want to go on their first WDW trip alone. His family has tickets from 2008 that they purchased the non-expiration option and currently have 6 - 6 day tickets with 3 days left each. The tickets do have a magnetic strip but they don't have anyone's name on them and the first 3 days have been used by each one of their 6 family members.
We don't want to circumvent the rules. I am trying to explain it to them as to how Disney would know who first used the tickets back in 2008. Obviously, the BF can use the ticket he used in 2008 but how would they even know which one it was if there are no names on the tickets?

Disney was using the current finger-scanners in 2008, so the tickets still have the original users' finger-scans in the computer system.

It's up to Disney if they want to enforce the rules by refusing (or allowing) an older ticket to be used by
a different person.

do you know if they will have trouble adding ticket days?

Cannot add days, they will have to use just what is left on the tickets, supposed to used by the same person that first used the ticket.

Adding days must be done within 14 days of the first ticket use of the ticket IF it is not past the last usage day on that ticket. Cannot add days to a ticket type that no loner longer exists, but the CM might try to apply the remaining value to a new ticket purchase. Tell them not to do that if the tickets can be used by them (if they allow you to bypass the stored finger scan), doing so would be paying the current ticket price for those old days too.

If they are able to use any of the tickets they can be converted to new ticket media with the chip and also added to MDE (and their Magic Bands) with the serial number on the back of the new ticket media. Converting to new media does not change the current ticket at all, just allows access for the tap styles for park entrance and FP or to add to the MB.

Even if all the tickets cannot be used now, it's a good idea to get all the old tickets transferred to new media. The CM can label with a sharpie which new media ticket is tied to which person if that info is in their system with the finger scan.

We had all of our old non-expire tickets converted to the new rfid cards a few years back. When the cm transferred the tickets, all the fingerprints were reset.

She told me to figure out which ticket belonged to which person and add them to my mde account. Not sure if they have changed the way the conversion process is handled now.

You can always go to guest services and see what they say when you convert them.

I would contact Disney to see of the tickets can be transfered.
