2008 Marathon Weekend's 5K course?

As usual last night i was trying to talk Mom into the 2008 5K again. She finished the DL 5K and I've been badgering her to do the january ones now. I told her the course map should still be up online to go and look at it, it's *snickers* ONLY 3 miles LMBO in the parks, no ramps, no steep hills but a fairly smooth flat course.

Since I had time today and was wondering if the Goofy had been updated (curious minds and all that) decided I'd pull up the 5K course. Which isn't linked to the 2008 5K (so I didn't find the course).

Here is why I'm posting.....

Unless I'm seeing things or my past work week has cost me more of my mind than I thought, it says the 2008 5K course will go thru ANIMAL KINGDOM!?!?!? Ok, now I'm thinking Susan and I need to take a 3 mile 'walk' on Jan 11, 2008 LOL Not sure I'll win that fight but then again SHE wanted the Goofy in 2008 until Paul & Daniel gave her wise advise so I think 3 miles is fair

There are a couple of different paths that we have seen going through AK. One is really flat and the other goes up and down all the major hills that the park has. We enjoy running through there and are also thinking about doing this race. Of course alot depends on what the medal looks like...

It's always good to know that I can come here and find others of like mind.... sure i'll do it depending on what the medal is like LOL

i called Mom after seeing the words AK and told her and she is actually interested and gave me my new mission of alerting her to when the course is posted and any further updates on the 5K. LOL

I certainly hope i can talk either her or Susan into it but if not perhaps I'll just drag myself out of bed that morning anyways because I'm sure a few WISH members will be putting in an appearance so I will not be alone.

ANNE!!!!!! Techinically this will be a race you have not done, new course!!!! But then again have you done any of the Marathon Weekend 5Ks???? Me thinks you need to come down for this one Yup, I'll find reasons to toss at you thru out the year

I didn't even catch that the '08 5k was through Animal Kingdom!!! That makes me feel much better about having to give up the 1/2 for the 5k now. I didn't want to do the same 5k course that I had done before. But now I'm intrigued!

The only thing I do NOT like about AK is I swear that they used something different when creating the grounds. It feels different when running an event and it feels different when I park hop. I just cannot figure it out--but I find it an extremely unforgiving surface.

So make sure you have extra cushy shoes!
