That and the guy leading the 2nd row from the right is totally out of sync with everyone else.

People with no rythm should not be color guard! :sad2:

And why call them color guard? I'd be giving those colors away as fast as I could!! :lmao:

I am getting into this year's discussion late, but thanks to Orlando Mike for sending me here. Thus far I have attended the Toledo, Orlando and Murfreesboro show (just got home from Nashville on Sat.) and am looking forward to going back to Toledo and on to Indy next week.

This has been one very interesting year. The Cadets have really changed their "narration" and from what I gather from Hopkins' blog, he is cutting another 45 seconds out of the beginning. I disliked the show in Toledo, and I found the ending in Murfreesboro cheesy.

WOW on Phantom. I heard a collective gasp from the crowd in Murfreesboro a couple of times. That show is totally amazing from the time it enters the field with the DM being brought in by the slaves until the very end.

My guess is that Crown will win The Spirit of Disney award.

SCV rocks. Mind, body, spirit. Another WOW show.

Cavies got the moves. Their drill is amazing to watch.

Bluecoats have a very good show, but I find myself watching the boxers and not paying much attention to anything else.

Blue Devils.... eh. doesn't do much for me except burn my retinas.

Whoever did the flags for BK did an amazing job. They are truly beautiful.

Can't wait to head out next week. We are staying in Indy and plan a few good meals.

Thanks for letting me participate in this discussion.

I used to be a huge fan of the Cadets (for personal reasons :rolleyes1 ) throughout the 80s, 90s and the first couple years of this decade. I'm not sure what Hoppy is thinking, to be quite honest. I know he wants to try and be different.....but, if you ask me, in the past the Cadets have always had their own personal flare that made them different. On the other hand, he's one of those defiant people who tends to do things that you tell him not to.:confused3

Is it just me or does the chrerub in this pic look like it's got toilet paper trailing out of it's behind?

:lmao:

That's what makes it so incredibly adorable. :lmao:

You are a scamp!

::yes::

Though, I'm more often called a word that rhymes with "scamp". Can you guess what it is, Wally?

I'll be you can. You're EVER so clever!

Same here, but lately, I cant even force myself to buy a T-shirt!

Why should I give them $$$ when all they are going to do is spend it on things like amplification and other things that make me cringe? :confused3

Very true.

My ex bought me a Cadets shirt for Christmas in 2006 which promoted their 2007 season that says "Tradition of Innovation". I'm not allowed to wear it around my drum corps friends. They poke fun of me......especially the guy who has 2 or 3 shirts with the Garfield "G" on them. :lmao:

Dude, I still have dozens of "Gahfield" T-shirts! :lmao:

Nope, but that was a GOOD GUESS!

Keep trying!

I love too but that would take this thead even further afield -
not nice behavior I'm afraid.
We should really try to join the Band topic Micky put forth.

Very true.

As I mentioned elsewhere, Wally, I think you'd look VERY FETCHING in one of those pink and orange outfits!

Here are a few shots I took...just tried to get some of each group.

The Cavaliers

As soon as the Blue Devils took the field my sis and I started talking about how we hated what the color gaurd was wearing. My son acted like he didn't understand what we meant. My sister asked him if he could see the color guard. In a very sarcastic voice he said, "Nooo mom I can't. You know if they really wanted to be seen you would think they would wear something that would get some attention.
My son said he loves the pics of the Cavs you took.
I have another question. I hadn't seen DCI in 10 yrs, so this might be a new thing. I noticed that in several of the cores that the color gaurd did not have on the same exact thing. Some had the same bottoms, and different tops. Others had the same , but some had the mid section showing while others didn't. So, is this a new thing or did I just not notice it before?

Too showy for me friend.
But you have the bright and bubbly personalty to pull it off.

Well one of the guys I'm traveling with wants to swap out the Canton show for the Toledo show next Monday night. He said Phantom is smokin! And heck, its 1.5 hours closer to the "Happy Place" so I'm pretty sure we may hit that one instead. We decided to wait till that day to decide which show to hit. Looking at Phantom, I think I may agree, I want to hear that hornline in a small High School stadium before finals week!
