I can't seem to find it anywhere:surfweb: but has anybody used their 2008 snacks at Goofys candy shop in DTD? I know in the past years I would use my snack credits there for anything that was under four dollars. However with the dining plan changes I am curious if that is still possible? I really hope it is. I get goodies for my grandkids and the kids I watch. LOL

There have been post on Goofy's for 2008. The "make your own" treats have been allowed, but the bag of candy wasn't.

Sorry, I don't have more info. I am also curious as to what snacks are being allowed. I have read that they have been cut back drastically.

We are at the CR now, and have just tried to buy snacks using the DDP.
We were unable to buy the box of donuts, bag of candy, large milk.
We were told that it is only counted as single serve items, ie a small bottle of drink, a small bag of chips a cookie, bagel etc
Haven't been to Goofy's in DTD yet but will let you know when we go what is available.

:worship: Thank you, for the info!

Goofys:

single serving only. No fudge. No specialty apples, Nothing that has more than "one" serving in it (i.e. the $2.50 pack of 3 lollipops), no bulk candy. No large bag of pretzels ($2.49) only single serve--.89 cents. No bag of goofy's candy (even if under $4.00 mark).

When they say "single" they mean single----one coconut haystack is 79 cents. You can not get more than one (up to $4.00) you get ONE (which is one bite).

That left: some bakery stuff, the make your own stuff, drinks and under $1.00size of stuff.

Almost everything in the store is marked family size or fun to share.

I'm fine with this change.

We'll just use our snack credits for the normal stuff (popcorn, ice cream, water...)and use cash for the fun stuff(fudge, Goofy's....)

Are Mickey Mouse rice krispy ears considered a single serving?

I think Disney should have thought through all the changes 2008-snack restriction, no gratuties, no appetizer.

But we did save $1 pp :lmao:

Does anyone know about the make your own pretzles specifically? That's the one my kids love best, and I'm starting to worry that since it is 3 pretzel rods in one order, someone is going to decide that it isn't single serving and therefore doesn't qualify...

Seem more to me that the plan is losing it's value, I thing I will go back to the DDE card. The 20% sounds better to me.

I do not understand why Disney cares how the heck you spend your stinkin $4 dollar snack credit! If they're allowing $4 and under per snack credit then why do they care how you spend it? It has already been paid for:headache: I realize that this forces you to spend possibly less money per credit but not so much so that it will break their bank! Sheesh this really is waaay to much penny pinching! If they've already got you on property for your entire length of stay (magical express) and then your forced to go to their theme parks, stay in their resorts and eat in their restaurants can't they float us a bone...or a pack of stinkin lollipops!:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: OK rant over!:rotfl:

They never officially said the snack was $4 and under so anything beyond the chips, fruit, ice cream, and drinks listed in the brochure makes me happy. The bottom line is that they want us to spend more money. If we buy 6 donuts for 1 snack credit then that's 5 other things we aren't buying at WDW. Now we just get 1 donut per credit. Before we all got appetizers included now that we all like appetizers and they aren't included lots of people will buy a few meaning more money for WDW. Plus since we pre-pay for the DDP we tend to forget we paid and then will spend more on extras like drinks, fancy kids drinks, apps, etc. It's all an effort to keep people from sharing stuff and buying more stuff that isn't included on the DDP. The snacks were even cutting into people buying stuff to bring home as gifts like the bags of cookies and candies.

Does anyone know if the bags of Mickey pretzels are still available at the gift shops for a snack credit? Or is it only the tiny single serving bag?

I am SURE it's the tiny bag, 1 or 2 oz size, although no one has posted this directly.

We were on DDP for 12/23-12/28/07 and they were already cracking down on snacks. At Main St. Candy store in MK I wanted to use 3 snacks for 1)xmas cookie 2)bag of cotton candy 3)bag of kettle corn. the kettlecorn would not ring up for a snack..I'm assuming because it is not single serve(although it was not huge). CM tried 3 times, and he thought it was strange, but I just changed it instead for DS.

it is the tiny bag (.89 cents). I wanted the bigger bags ( $2.49 --- to me that would have been a "single serving" as I made way through catching up on 8 days of GH when I got home). I tried at both Pop and Goofy's.
