Mandy do you know if they have 80's night on the 4 night cruises? I always want to go but can't drag DH. The only thing I've gotten him to go to was match your mate.

My husband complains about me dumping him on a cruise but for different reasons. He prefers inside (air conditioned activities such as movies, hanging out in the sports bar) and I always want to be outside by the pool enjoying the sunshine. (Although I do like to go to Bingo)

Morning Veronica

I guess I'm lucky, we both like to lie in the sun in the day (Paul lasts a bit longer than me) and then in the evening, you can find us both in Diversions watching sport on the TV, playing draughts or eating nachos and chicken wings (yes even after a late huge dinner :thumbsup2 )

Sandy, I was only reading about this the other day. I'm sure that someone mentioned that the 60's, 70's & 80's nights had finished, and replaced them with something else,

Well, I can honestly say yesterday was the worst day of my life. Things are looking more positive, but...

Keegan had his CT scan at 8:30. We were to have a follow up with his doctor at 4:00 PM. They called at 10:00 saying they hadn't received the results yet, but would like us in at 11:45 so we could avoid the afternoon "flu" kids. Red flag there. I couldn't even concentrate and sat with Keegan trying to put Legos together waiting to go in. We get there and they take us straight back to an exam room. Second red flag. We've never not waited. The doctor tells Derek to sit in his exam chair-thrid red flag-- and tells us that Keegan has a tumor and they think it's lymphoma or teratoma (cancer) and that he has a 2PM appointment at Johns Hopkins. I don't even remember leaving the office, but we made it to the J.H. Pediatric Oncology center and he had 5 vials of blood taken. We saw 2 doctors examining him head to toe and taking a complete history. They showed us his CT scan and pointed out a tumor near his heart/lung. They went to review his blood work and did a smear to check for lymphoma/leukemia cells and did not find any. They said there is always a small chance it didn't show up yet. They had the head radiologists look at his scan and they found air pockets in it. They said that he could have been born with it and it continued to grow and it got infected by pneumonia through his lung tissue in that spot. For now, they are treating him with antibiotics 3 X's a day for 10 days to see if it shrinks. If it doesn't he has to have a biopsy and perhaps surgery to remove it. The pulmonary specialists and infectious disease doctors are going to review his case today and see if they want to do IV antibiotics instead or any other treatments at this time.
They will give him a CT scan at the oncology center in 2 weeks and we'll go from there. It was a very, very rough day. I was so in shock at the doctors I couldn't even cry and nearly fainted. I was completely expecting to hear his lungs were fine. I'm confident he's in good hands and we're very positive we are going to fight this with all we've got. Please keep him in your prayers.

OMG Danielle how awful..Your son is definately in our prayers. It sounds like you really have been through the ringer. At least now he is being treated and i am sure he will be fine. keep us posted

:grouphug: Oh Danielle, my heart and prayers go out to you and Keegan. I can't imagine the worry and upset you're going through

I really wish I could say or do something to help. Just remember we are here for you, even if all you want to do is rant and cry, we'll be here for you

I really hope the antibiotics kick in quickly to help him

Take care

I know what a certain evil twin would do with it:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

HEY NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was thinking the same thing! LOL

Good morning girls, I am on the catch up again!! Just got back from foodshopping....

I can't believe you had a delay today Sandy - and I love the pic of your DH in the pirate garb - mine would NEVER do that - the most I can get out of him is a pirate T-shirt!

Mandy - I love the pics of Paul - that is too funny! Carm would have to be totally drunk to do that.. I am talking TOTALLY!!!!! :lmao:

Deb - nice little hunting dogs you have there - I would love to see I pic!!

Michele - HELLO there!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did you miss me?!?!?

Veronica - I am thinking your DH and mine will have stuff to chat about - METS!! Carm will get on a roll there - he will talk if it is a topic he enjoys!

Morning laurie, sandy, mandy,
Wow that's scary mandy...glad everything is o.k. though.
I was talking to jeff about my dumping him on the cruise to hang with you guys and he said what is the difference from the last cruise i ran off then and he babysat austin because he wouldn't go to the club...lol:rotfl: I am terrible i didn't even realize i was gone that much. I am just a social butterfly .I loved playing bingo and chatting with the people there. Do any of you girls play bingo on the ship. I loved pikey on our last cruise.

This will be perfect - Carm and Jeff can hang w/the boys at the pool and we can go have FUN! LOL

I've never done the bingo - maybe this time we can hit BIG - not like w/sunshine!! :)

Maybe Austin will go to the clubs if we can buddy him w/Dominic.

Now that you are talking about CM on the boats... who has been your Captain, cruise director, wait staff? Any 'good' ones?

We had Brent Davies on BOTH cruises we were on. He was on the Magic in 05 and over on the Wonder in 06. And - I think we had Captain Tom something-or-other.. On the Magic cruise we had Fitz and Dennis in the dining room - and on the Wonder we had some guy and a lady - can't remember their names, so not too memorable - they were nice and all, but we had Fitz on the 7 day, so we were really 'tight' with him.. ON the last night, we gave him the tip envelope and a big hug, I was crying! lol I heard from one of the head waiters in 06, that he was being promoted... He was the BEST! I will have to check w/the kids or DH to see if they remember the name of the other two.. hmmm...

Danielle...

I will keep him in my prayers!! Please keep us posted on his condition. Poor little guy! Hopefully the antibiotics will help. How are you holding up today?? I couldn't even imagine - we are here if you need us!

Laurie

Tom is very social and will be very happy to discuss the Mets (hopefully the season will be going well). I'm so excited that Spring Training is starting. First televised game is Friday. Must mean summer is coming soon!

Lol that is so cute mandy..Jeff would never do that..maybe in his younger days when he drank but not now. he doesn't drink anymore not in 17 years

Mandy - I love the pics of Paul - that is too funny! Carm would have to be totally drunk to do that.. I am talking TOTALLY!!!!! :lmao:

I can assure you, no-one was more shocked to see Paul like that, than I was, it was totally out of character for him

Paul wears a Pirate t-shirt too, there is no way that he will dress up

I wish I could remember the CM's, the only people that seem to make a big impact on us is our dining servers. The best we ever had was in Jan '07. Here they are

CIMG2464.jpg

Sunil and Jorge, and they were hilarious. If the girls had the camcorder on them, they would always play up to them - they were brilliant. We saw Sunil last Summer, but neither of them were about in December :(

It's not on here... we get phillies spring training.. YUCK! We have a Direct TV - and buy the baseball package - so, we get the regular games, but not spring training... :sad1:

Carm is really thinking we should've gone this year... LOL TOO late now!! Next year for sure! :thumbsup2

I think if austin has a buddy he will go the club laurie. My most memorable person was pikey ...loved him and he teased austin everytime he saw him austin really liked him too. I have read that pikey will be on the magic in august though:sad2: The other was our room steward carlos. He was great he would teach the kids how to make the towel animals each night and he was always there for us unlike our crappy conceirge team. Man they sucked ..he totally made up for them.

Y'know Michele, I really wouldn't want to have conceirge. I'm happy with someone coming in our room to clean up and sort out our beds, but I wouldn't want anyone else 'taking care' of us. Did you like it ? what else do they do ? (though I would be very happy to make reservations at 105 days out)

I only remember our room steward from last Summer, he was called Enrique, and everytime we saw him I would break out into song 'you can run, you can hide, but you can't escape my love' :)
