:sunny: I just booked this cruise for my DH and I...it will be our first cruise. We are staying on deck 7. Has anyone else been on a 4 day thanksgiving cruise before??? :thumbsup2

We can't be the only ones cruising!! Isn't anyone going to join us on this curise?!?!?

:cool1: :wizard: :cheer2:

Come join us!!!

:dance3: :beach:

Greetings!!

We just got off the 7/15/06 Western, and booked the 11/21/07 Wonder while on board.

We did the four day Wonder cruise over Thanksgiving 2005 and it was excellent. On our day at sea, we buzzed Castaway Cay and the two Captains had a dueling horn contest.

The weather was perfect, although a bit chilly on Embarkation Day. The DD's still went swimming.

thegales --

hi!! i haven't checked this in so long, since i didn't recieve any responses -- i missed yours!! i am so excited for our cruise, only 466 days left...i know, a long time.

who all is cruising with your family?? my husband and i are going alone, our first cruise. we will be following the trip with his yearly family trip to disneyworld for another week, so that will be a lot of disney!!

any other cruisers out there, join our party!!

woo hoo!! :cool1: :cool1: :bounce: :bounce: :beach: :rockband: party:

It is me, DW, DD11 and DD9 (at the time of the cruise). We just got back from the July 15, 2006 Western and had a blast. It took me a week to recover; we did so much. I created a web page for that cruise - see the link in my signature.

Let's see if we can find any others...

Just giving this another shameless bump since there was a question about this cruise on the main cruise forum.

Hello -- thanks for the bump. We will have myself, DH, and DD turning 13 on 11/24/07. We may bring one of DD's friends, but that remains to be seen.

I am already looking forward to NOT cooking a turkey! :p

Giving this another bump -
include us! me, DH, DD, and about 18 other family members ranging in age from one year to 86. We sailed Thanksgiving 05, same cruise as thegales, and had a great time! The deuling horns were awesome. As were Mickey and Minnie in their Thanksgiving finery.

looking forward to meeting everyone, and thanks for starting the thread!

Hi there everyone!!!!
I just came off this years 4 day Thanksgiving cruise on the Wonder and am happy to say that we booked next years cruise as well!!! :cool1: :cool1:
We had a great time this year and I will be happy to answer anyone's questions about our trip.
The weather was quite chilly in Florida the day we departed but the further south we went the warmer it got. Our day in CC started out a bit cool but temps were in the high 70's/low 80's as the day progressed and the skies were a beautiful shade of blue!! The day in Nassau and our day at sea were the same warm temps and blue skies!! :sunny: :sunny:
My kids (dd age 7 and ds age 8) loved the Oceaneers Lab, it was hard getting them to leave each night!!
Any other questions, just ask away....

BTW- m kasch- we will be on deck 7 too!! :Pinkbounc

I can't wait! :yay: I think we're going to tell DD about it as a Christmas present, because I don't think I can keep it a secret until next year. Anyone know where to get those ship ornaments? (like the ones they were selling onboard that I failed to buy!) :santa:

shelleyr25, what was your itinerary? I think the 2007 currently has us in Nassau on T'giving day, but there was some suggestion that that might change?

We were on CC for Thanksgiving Day and then Nassau on Friday and a day at sea on Saturday. It was fine, I hope next years ends up that way, it worked out really well.
Looking forward to meeting you guys!!

Shellyr25 -- were the christmas decorations up yet? we always go to DW the week after thanksgiving, it is so nice to see all of the decorations :santa:

Yea, only 327 days left until the cruise!! :cool1:

Christmas decorations were in full force in 2005. Even the terminal was decorated. Here is our family in front of the Christmas tree at the terminal.

It was a bit odd having Mickey and Minnie in their Thanksgiving Pilgrim costumes next to the Christmas tree. But other than that, everything was perfect.

Yup, everything was decorated last month too. They even had the fake snow blowing on CC!! It made it a bit tough for us because we do not celebrate Christmas and all the characters posed in the Atrium in front of the Christmas tree. I did not want the tree in our Thanksgiving picture so we did not have a photo taken with Minnie only Mickey who was standing by the stairs.

Was the thanksgiving meal at the same restaurant as the night before? I know that usually, the Pirate meal is the night that is the repeat. Did they have a different meal at all of the restaurants? I want to do all 3 restaurants and Palo, so I was thinking that maybe we would try to get Palo on Thanksgiving. I know, it is so far off, but it is hard not to plan!! :cool1:

We had APPT with Thanksgiving falling on the second night. The third night was the Pirate party.
Our menu had a traditional Thanksgiving meal as well as many other options. I am not a huge turkey fan so opted for the lobster!! I am not sure what was offered at the other dining rooms but I am sure that the traditional meal was offered at all with the options perhaps a bit differant depending on where you were eating.
The only thing about doing Palo on Thanksgiving is that you would not be able to bring the kids and of all the meals on the ship, that to me, was the only one that I felt we should all eat together.

Thanks!! We don't have kids yet, so this won't be a problem for us. Was there a formal night on the cruise, or at least a dress up night?

Did you decorate your door, or notice anyone else who had? I am the ultra plan aheader (if that's a word...), and I was going to start getting some ideas. Maybe some more people will joing our board soon!:dance3:

From the DCL Website:
On 4-night cruises:
First night: cruise casual — no shorts, swimwear or tank tops
One pirate or tropical night (deck party)
One "dress-up night" — jacket for men, dress or pantsuit for women
Final night: cruise casual — no shorts, swimwear or tank tops

Some people decorate their doors elaborately. Here is a link to some graphics from a previous post. http://www.mousefest.org/graphics.htm
