2007 Transatlantic and First Med cruises thread

I'm so jealous of all of you who get to meet in May at the world!!!

I'm stuck up here in rochester while youre' all going to have wonderful weather....and to make it worse I'm laid up with TWO sprained ankles (my right one is BAD) from cheerleading practice on Monday night!

Oh Erik - I hope you feel better....I also will not make the May get
together.

Kelly - I agree

Jealous :sad1:

Erik, how did your pond make it through the winter?

It made it fine....we bought a bird-bath heater that automatically turns on whenever the water drops below 40 degrees and plugged it in. The fountain is only about 10 feet from an outdoor power outlet on our back deck/porch so it could reach. We put the heater in the lower pool of our fountain and the fountain ran all winter...we just had to refill it wiht water about every 6 or 7 weeks. When the weather got VERY cold small icicles formed just around the very edge but the pump ran all winter no problem. We just pulled theheater out today as we are HOPING that we're not going to see any more below freezing weather (it was in the low 60's and sunny today so Jason actually got out and did some cleaning up in the garden and pulling up bulbs we missed last year.)

Oh I feel your pain! OUCH!!

I am still having trouble from my sprained ankle I got in October.

Can not wait till WDW!

Eric, do take care, Looking forward to May.

Morning Kids, Busy day and week ahead for me. Breakfast Burritos are in the making, hope to get the walls textured in the basement bedroom, so Lynn can paint, then hope to get a run in if the weather cooperates then into my office .

I am ready for this or any vacation.

Yes, my ankle woes are particularly vexing today when the weather is GORGEOUS outside and I just know the rest of the world in Rochester is rollerblading and biking and walking and jogging...and I'm laying in bed watching marathon episodes of the UK version of "Make me a supermodel" with feet wrapped in ice bags and elevated above my heart....AAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!:lmao: :lmao:

Eric, I want to know what you were doing in Cheerleading practice to sprain both ankles! (I'm envisioning some complicated flip)

Sadly, no. Honestly I was just hopping down off of a block onto the floor and both my ankles twisted forward and out....it was one of those stupid accidental mishaps you just can't believe unless it actually happens to you.:lmao:

Eric, I'm sorry you are laid up! I did have to giggle at you description of bed reast. SorrY!

We just got back from our truly wonderful and alltoo short anniversary trip to WDW. It was nice in the mornings and rained really hard both afternoons.I broke down and bought a pancho, which I have NEVER had to do before. Usually, I just shake off the drops because the storms are fairly short.

We got to do everything we wanted to do at Epcot, MK, AND HS. It was so crowded, but we just seemed to hit everything just right. We also went to Boma, a first, and to Victoria and Albert's, which is a once in a lifetime! Both were very nice.

The highlight of our trip was our "eating around the world adventure." We had rules: one meal/snack from countries of choice, must to be shared. We had fish and chips in England, a pastry in France, a combo platter in Morrocco (the BEST!), snow cone in Japan, apple tart in USA (free from the USA pavillion to celebrate our Anniv.), bratwourst from Germany, red bean ice cream form China, creamhorn from Norway, and a chorro (which was gross) from Mexico! We had skipped breakfast, so for the day, we had 3 main courses and 5 desserts, and a snow cone, which is like a drink, right, between the two of us and we were stuffed! (As you can imagine!) A little heavy on sweets, because toward the end, we were looking for the cheapest/smallest tastey, but VERY FUN!

Ive heard of drinking around the world at EC, but never thought of eating around the world. I may have to try that. That may be a good stomach stretching exercise before the next cruise.

DAnn, that sounds like so much fun!

Erik, that sounds like it went really well with the pond, not so much on the ankles.

Hey all my repo buddies!!

First off I'm still terribly jealous of all of you who will be at the world in May or are doing the Panama cruise(s) or one of hte Mexicans this summer.....jealous, jealous, jealous!!!

Also..I wanted to put a huge shameless plug out there again this year that it's time for Jason and I to do the AIDS Walk again....so if any of our generous DIS buddies want to help us out again......check out our newly revised signature to get to our online fundraising page! :thumbsup2

Eric, glad you found this thread in oblivion! I had given up looking for it!

Last two days were beautiful here, today is cold, high of 40 after 2 days of 70! Also very windy today, 30-40mph winds with gusts over 50mph! It is supposed to rain, but so far, the sun is out.

Scott is very busy at work, I have hardly seen him in 2 weeks!

Eric, I imagine Scott will donate to you again, (he is the one with money, I am retired and living on a fixed income:rotfl2: ), it will be a bit before he gets back to the boards.

BTW, how are the ankles?

Ankles are on the mend....thanks for asking...they're still a little tender/sore and I'm obivously not doing anything too strenuous or tumbling of any kind for at least 2 to 4 more weeks....but i can wear shoes again finally!! :lmao:

Hi Erik (and Jason)

Good luck reaching your fundraising goal!

Ken

Greetings from Florida!!! I have been on the disboard all day trying to get ideas for a day in Southern California. Thanks Kelly for all your ideas!! So I decide to look up our old thread. You are all still here. Sure wish I was planning our trip across the Big Pond - what good memories and getting to meet all you fine folks. DAnn - you didn't even call?? Gosh there was a "tea" for two if you had just called - Happy Anniversary anyway!. So glad you and hubby have good jobs. Aren't you busy with graduation this Spring too?

Erik, I think of you often - whenever cheerleaders have invaded DW. They will be here in force April 26/27 - they asked me to work at World Show Place and I politely said, NO!!!! We are taking grandson, Aiden, to CA April 19 to 26.
He is looking forward to the day with Miss Zoe at Disneyland. We are going to Yosemite but decided to cut it short 1 day as the weather up there is going to be rather "chilly". Right now I've decided we'll either go to Legoland or the San Diego Zoo for our extra day. If any of you have suggestions on those 2 places please send them along.

I'm excited about our get-together on May 2 and the races May 3 and 4. Scott and Lynne our race is 80% full. One of my coordinators said last night she thought it would sell out. It should be a fun time together. The Flower and Garden Show is absolutely beautiful. Epcot is just packed. I had a Waste Management Venue last night at China and we had to walk them to Innovations East to play their new game and it was jampacked!!! I keep thinking - don't kids go to school anymore. There just isn't any downtime at the Parks it seems. For those of you who will be at the get-together there is talk that Toy Story Mania might be having "soft openings". We can always hope. Anxious to see everyone.

Wish we were all cruising again - jealous of the Panama people, Mexico people, and any others taking Disney cruises. The word here is the new Toy Story Show on the Wonder is really good - hope to see it sometime. We're going to be Disney traitors this year. We're taking the new Holland America Eurodam for a 14 day Canada/New England cruise. I just decided Disney is not going that way for a long time and we just need to go ahead. I hope I'm not too disappointed.

Glad I checked for our old thread. Best to you all. Come visit Disneyworld!!!!

Anna, I would have loved a tea for two!!! I think Scott would've been standing outside tapping on the windows, looking like a waif, though! It was his time. He deserved something after living with ME for 20 years! LOL I am determined to see you when we go down there. Both our recent trips (AUg and April) have been so quick--2 days--I feel I'm neglecting you! So not intentional. I think you're great!

Erik, I amglad you can wear shoes again! <<giggle>> You are so funny describing you injury.:rotfl:

  :dance3: Just 2 more weeks!!! :dance3: :dance3:
