2007 Rates

since they made minor changes to this years DDP, I doubt it wouldnt last through next summer. Its probably here to stay. Keeping guests onsite who may possibly have been torn about the issue, and then, once staying onsite, I bet a majority of ppl dont leave until they go home. Spending ALL of their food $$$ on property. Maybe I am wrong about that

What were the minor hanges ? Anybody knows ? A sight to check out ? Been out of touch lately sorry... :badpc:

Can you get AAA packages with the hotel, tickets and DDP? We didn't use AAA last year, cause we were on the free dining and had to book through them. Thanks!

So does that mean, AAA can't book the free dining package?? 2 years in a row WDW has done the free DDP in the Fall and last week we just started talking about trying to do this in 2007, assuming they do the free plan again. We were hoping to book the free DDP package through AAA, to try and save even more money. If we want to take advantage of the free dining we have to book directly through WDW??

AAA or any TA can book the 'free DDP' promo package for you, or you can book it yourself directly with Disney, as long as there are still packages available. BUT you can not stack codes--meaning that you will have to choose between the AAA discount and the 'free DDP'. You can't have both (a room discount and free dining), regardless of who you book through. It is an either/or situation. To get the 'free DDP' promo, you must reserve the package with a room at rack rate (and purchase a minimum of at least a one day base ticket per room occupant, in order to make it a package vs room only ressie).

When we went in September. We had signed up for AAA back in the spring with the intent of using it for the discounts. However when they offered the dining plan we were told we could not use the AAA discount and recieve the free dining. Free dining was definately a much better deal for us. Just find out what the differences in price between doing it both ways, and take the better deal. :goodvibes

Thanks for the info - but one more question. So I understand I need to either choose b/w AAA discount room OR the free dining plan. What about other AAA benefits? I have a AAA brochure that says "MEMBERS RECEIVE FREE Park Hopping* PLUS, choose one for FREE*: Disney Water Parks or Disneyquest or Pleasure Island Nightclubs. *Restrictions Apply". Can I still book through AAA & not pay for Park Hopping and the Water Parks and still get the free DDP? Not having to pay Park Hopping and Water Parks on MYW tickets for 8 people can really help too.

No you cannot use the AAA rate, if doing free dine plan, you must purchase the rack rate

I am not familiar with that special offer--what are the 'restrictions'? Is this offer actually available during the same dates as the 'free dining' promo? Or is this perhaps the promo package that was offerred for an earlier time period (the one where Disney was offering a free ticket upgrade, where you paid base price and then received PH and a plus option for free)?

My guess is that it is likely going to be another case of not being permitted to 'stack' multiple offers/codes on the same ressies... but its certainly worth checking into further, just in case. Probably best to talk to your AAA agent directly (and then please let us all know what they say; I'm curious about this potential AAA perk ;) ).

I think I'll just call my local AAA office and ask them. The restrictions were just the usual - limited time offer, limited availablity, subject to change, etc.
Thanks for you input though.

I'm going to guess that was the (now-expired) spring promotion.

I think you can book the Free Dining Plan until June 6, but many rooms are already taken, unless you want to stay in a Mod or Deluxe.

We are planning on going in May during Star Tours :darth: , DS (& DH) would love to see everything. So, here's hoping for good rates!!! :wizard:

Ugh! Too many things to keep track of!

We are AAA members. We joined to get the discount for packages. Last week my car (which is a 2003 lease vehicle that only has 28K miles on it) decided to be completely DEAD in the middle of a hot parking lot. DH was working and couldn't come help me, so I was DARN glad I had AAA! When I told them I had a 2 year old with me they put a "rush" on my call and I had a tow truck in 20 minutes. Pretty impressive.

We booked our August package with DDP on a AAA discount. It saved us a couple hundred dollars. We miss free dining by a week which would have saved us about $800, but we won't talk about that.

I booked a room only for December on a AAA discount and that is saving us about $75, which is about the cost of annual membership. We are buying APs in August but I am not planning for ANYTHING as far as an AP room discount. Reading through the threads about people waiting for codes past 6/3/06 has made me see that counting on a code is a dangerous plan.

Now I am trying to plan for '07, but I don't know when DH will have time off. We won't know that until after Thanksgiving. I need to book a room NOW on the chance that he CAN get time off. I am trying to decide if DS and I will go in March for his Spring Break even if DH can't go, and I am trying to decide which other week to reserve in case DH can't go in March. It's maddening.

I think our AAA membership is worth it even though we have new cars that SHOULD function properly. I think my car is a bit of a lemon so I like the peace of mind.

can one person in family join AAA and book 3 rooms? Can you book room only thru AAA for 2007 and then change it to pkg once those rates come in?
When I called about our reservation for Sept 06 tonight I was told the pkg. don't come out till Oct for 2007 seems kinda late? I'm trying to decide if we should buy no exp. 10 day tickets for 06 trip and will it save anything for next year....so unsure about all this :confused3

I am sorry but do I understand that the DDplan is over and you can't book that plan for 2007?? If I book 2007 now and then the plan :) comes back can I rebook that plan and cancel the first res?? :confused3

No. Rather, they have not yet STARTED to allow folks to book the Dining Plan for 2007. They should start allowing that very soon. As a matter of fact, rates for 2007 are beginning to find their way into the system, as of yesterday (some guests who booked way in advance are now receiving notification of what their rate will be), so perhaps as of yesterday we may be now able to start booking the Dining Plan for 2007.
