2007 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC07 - October 21, 2007

6.5K = 4.04 miles

I try and walk every morning when I'm on board. Last year I only made it one time but a group of us walked around deck 10. When I'm alone I usually do deck 4. So I might meet up with you.

DUH !!!!! Now that was stupid of me.

Guess I'm not awake this morning yet. I better do better the rest of the day.

I like deck 10, you can't beat the view, deck 4 is too hot and stuffy for me. Even thought it can get windy I stick to 10. I would love the company.

I found the web site, it looks like fun. I could do the 4 miles, eight is a little much for me right now. I will have to ask the rest of my bunch if we can get there by 9 after being at Universal all day.

not humid here this morning, so far. I was just out by the pool getting the baracuda working again. It keeps popping out of the suction hole. Such a pain.

It is supposed to get up to 92+ today. For sure I will stay in and finish reading one of Oprah's book club stories and watch some TIVO. I don't have to go to the PO and that is good.

Am still trying to get to COSTCO, but that is not on the top of my list today. When I need to get gas, I'll probably go there and fill the car up.

I like the upper deck better for walking. The smoking deck is 4, the walking deck is 4. Does that make sense? I'm a smoker but when I am trying to walk, i'd rather not be walking through smoke.

Some times there are smokers on deck 10 with thier morning coffee. I have even run into some that look like thay have been out all night and are drinking coffee.

Hey if anyone is interested there is a 6.5k and 13k walk/run at MGM on Saturday October 26. There is a private during and after race party at MGM for your guests that aren't doing the race. You can register at the Wide World of Sports website. Amanda and I are doing the 6.5k. They let you have 2.5 hours to complete it. Finishers receive a special tower medal. We are very excited to do it.

Oh, and if anyone doesn't have their passports and you need them I would get them expidited or forget about it. I am at 14 weeks and 3 days. All I was told is that mine are in the system but not close to being done because I don't need them yet as I put my date of travel on the application

Sad I guess you have to do it like wedding dresses (at least back in my day). You told them your wedding was 2-3 weeks before it was just so you didn't have to be in for last minute fittings and rush.

The funny thing is 14 weeks sounds so long when you are waiting for your passport but now being 14 weeks to the cruise it seems like such a short time.

We have family meeting us at disney after the cruise and we are all doing the race. Some the 4 miles and some the 8. I hear everyone talking about deck 4 and deck 10. Is there a place where you can run on the cruise??

Deck 4 is the best place to run, there is nothing in the way if you are up early. Deck 10 is all outside but you have to weave in and out of chairs and the workers up early washing and cleaning. I like 10, but I am not a runner. It's cooler and the view is beautiful.

We applied for our passports on March 16 and just got them last week.

For some reason, I have an August date to try and reserve Palo's and other activities on the cruise. How come on thios board I see a July date?

Coach - as a first time cruiser with DCL you book at 75 days out.

Members of the Castaway Club (those who have sailed DCL before) can book at 90 days out (which is July 23rd).

Those who are in a Cat 3 or 2 (they normally don't sell the cat 1's for this trip) could book at 105 days out.

Hi Joanne! It was fun chatting with you too! Yes Cruise chat is every Friday night. I usually put a chat post up on the main forum. Last night was kind of slow. Tends to be in the summer with everyone out and doing things. Neither of the regular chat hosts (KarenNY and Iluvdisney) were available last night so I was the fill in host.

Hope you (and others) join us next Friday!

BTW - thanks for the laundry reminder. I don't think you realized it but the one time you said something about laundry I realized I had something in the wash that was ready to be put in the dryer so I ran off and did that.
